In all those 4-5 threads, anyone who says they’re uncomfortable with the prospect of a state backed ownership are ridiculed too.

I just find it funny to be honest. I’d estimate about 95% of this forum objected to the City and Newcastle takeovers on moral/sports washing and/or financial doping grounds. But when it’s us, “it’s the only way to compete” and the ones who still have reservations are the hypocrites because they put petrol in their car.
It's possible to be opposed to it and resigned to its inevitability. A great many of us are opposed to the Glazer ownership yet we're still here.

I'm being a bit of a picky tit. But the "investing in the first team squad" (ie signings) part doesn't seem a crucial part.

Simply letting United spend their own profits would allow them to stay competitive with city and Newcastle.

The crucial part is investment into the facilities

Agreed on that. Being able to reinvest all our own income would be sufficient, especially when infrastructure costs, all of them potentially - current and projected - could be covered by a new owner, thus freeing up further transfer funds.

Of all the nonsense whatabout arguments on here, that's probably the dumbest. The UK imports very, very little Oil from the middle east.

Because a lot of "ITK" accounts on Twitter are claiming it to be Dubai again today.

Do we think that they all get together to invent their rumours in unison, or do they each just follow whatever the other "ITK" accounts have said before them, like a herd of sheep wading into a septic tank full of odious excrement. I suppose either way, anyone who believes a word they say will inevitably end up mired in shite.

Dubai was mentioned in the tifo video that’s been posted today too. The only one mentioned in that video with the term “have already been linked” too for what it’s worth.

It undoubtedly stems from that.

Yeah, I have to agree with this.

I do enjoy reading the things these ITK accounts write. It's entertaining to read how gullible people are. :D

TRANSACTIONS ETC
Wouldn't mind a scenario something along the lines of this (USD figures):

1. Inter Miami signs Lionel Messi against him getting a 35% ownership stake in the club. Inter Miami has a value of approximately 600m.

2. Ineos Sports creates a subsidiary named Ineos Football, to which the OGC Nice and FC Lausanne-Sport (worth app. 125m) is contributed.

3. Ineos contributes 4.25bn cash to Ineos Football (the same they were willing to pay for Chelsea FC). The value of Ineos Football increases to 4,3750m.

4. Ineos Football merges with Inter Miami. The current owners of Inter Miami acquires ownersip of apporximately 12 percent of Ineos Football with Ineos holding the remaining 88 percent.

5. Ineos Football acquires Zlatan's 25 percent stake in Hammarby FK against payment of app. 0.1% of the shares in Ineos Football.

6. QSI acquires shares in Ineos Football for a value of app. 2,450m in the form of 25% of all shares in PSG (1,250m) and a 1,200m cash.

7. US investors invest 1,000m in Ineos Football against ownership of app. 11.6%.

8. Ineos Football acquires the Glazers' 67% share of Manchester United plc against a 6,500m valuation, which means that the Glazers get 67% of 6,500m-681m (debt)=3.9bn.

9. Ineos Football undertakes to invest 2,500m in Manchester United, 1,500m in a new arena and facilities and 1,000m in the Squad over 10 years.

10. All clubs owned by Ineos Football overtake all overhead services of each club it holds shares in, meaning that each club largely will share scouting, medical expertise, sponsor sale personnel, legal department, financial department, PR etc etc etc -- i.e. you make sure to get all synergies possible. Management of each team is of course decentralized.

11. Ineos Football creates Chinese walls between how Man Utd, Nice and Lausanne is run, like Red Bull have done, to not get into trouble with UEFA.

RESULT
Ineos Football
owns:
67% of Manchester United plc
25% of PSG
100% of Inter Miami
100% of Nice
100% of Lausanne
20% of Braga
25% of Hammarby

Ineos Football is owned by:
Ineos 50.9%
QSI 28.64%
US Consortium 11.64%
Mas Brothers 4.37%
Messi 2.18%
Beckham 2.18%
Zlatan 0.1%

BUSINESS PLAN
In football, it is profitable to own the best clubs. Manchester City made a profit last season. Real Madrid made a profit last season. If you by creating a football group, where each team shares overheads costs, can have each club run in a state of the art manner, and hence be "successful" -- you have every opportunity to have it be profitable.

There should be a lot of opportunities to make savings on overhead costs and synergies in in a group of football teams. How much have been invested in MUTV? That can easily be scaled. Ticket sales. Etc etc etc etc.

The total "costs" for putting together Ineos Football would be 8,590m. Football is growing with app. 3.8% per year across the globe. The PL media rights are however growing with 15 per cent CAGR over the past 30 years (1993-2023). If you after investing 2.5bn in Man Utd, and assisting all other clubs, with the marketing powers of Messi, Beckham and Zlatan, you should easily be able to pay dividends of 85m per year, or 1%. If the value of the group grows with 10% per year over a 10 year period, it would be worth 22,300m after 10 years, and a 1% yearly dividend would pay 223m per year, or 3% of the original investment, yearly. And this is not even remotely including all additional benefits the owners could get, Ineos getting tremendous marketing of its new SUV, the Qataris is launching a sports brand, getting Messi, Beckham, Zlatan, and all the clubs involved in that. PSG, Man Utd and Inter Miami are all building new stadiums. Procure the costs of those three in a package. Etc etc etc.

Haha, that sounds great. Although it seems far fetched, it wouldn't surprise me if something like this does happen!

Haha, yeah, slow news day content/dreaming. But what is relevant here (if anything) is that there are so many legit strong connection among these guys. Beckham who definitely will have put feelers out. Who will he contact? The Qataris. Jimmy R. Both Beckham and Zlatan are not only pals with each other, they are also both pals with the Qataris, the same with Messi. Strong rumors on one option for Messi being taking over an ownership part of Inter Miami and signing with them. If Beckham gets involved, its hard to not seeing Inter Miami being part of the equation in some way. There is a lot of talk about the City Group's potential. To get Inter Miami involved, Messi gets involved if he takes that option automatically. Ratcliffe who is a genuine United supporter and who is trying to build a sport group that makes sense from an investment POV. The Qataris ambition in the same field. I don't think the Qataris ever would turn down a proposal to invest with Beckham, but they could definitely put a ceiling on it saying that they are only willing to take a smaller part of the investment. They tell Beckham that they won't do 6.5bn, but if he can offer them a smaller part of a legit project they are interested. Who would Beckham then call? Jimmy R. PSG is looking at what City is doing, they invested in Braga and have let everyone know that they will be looking to add teams to their own group. Here you get a heck of a head start, Inter Miami and 67% of Man Utd, Nice and Lausanne at once. Sounds fun, why not invite Zlatan too, he will also bring a club with him. :)

Oh, I certainly see things being interwined. There is no way the purchase of Manchester United will be "straightforward."

And I totally agree with you in regards to the Qatari's and Beckham. Becks has got a taste for football club ownership. He's experienced it at Salford and of course Inter Miami. Who would not jump at the chance of being an influential figure at a club that you grew up supporting and playing for?

And the thing Becks has is friends in high places. Him making this work is not beyond his means.

What people don't realise is that Beckham has already made a big impact on United, which has resulted in the arrival of Erik ten Hag and a DoF structure at first team level which is now evolving.

Ah, okay. How is this?

Beckham approached John Murtough, when Murtough was the head of the youth development teams at United, and offered Murtough the role of the General Manager at Inter Miami. Murtough was reportedly ready to take up that role after having direct talks with Beckham, because it was a natural progression for him, from his role overseeing the youth, scouting, coaching involving the development teams.

Murtough's remit didn't go beyond the youth side of the club where he'd done a good job and put in place a very strong scouting network which was led by David Harrison who is considered among the best in his field. And Harrison and his team was poached from City in 2016. So it was logical for Murtough to consider Beckham's proposal.

But what Beckham had done is cause a chain reaction without him even knowing about it. And Woodward then responded with a counter offer and offered Murtough the role of the DoF. And even though Murtough joined a structure at first team level which was created by the likes of Mourinho, Ole and the head scouts like Bout and Lawlor post 2016, he would eventually get the opportunity to restructure the setup at first team level to his liking with the addition of the club's first data science team on the football side of the club.

So Beckham's decision to offer Murtough the general Manager's role at Inter Miami helped us get Murtough into a influential position at first team level where he's brought in a progressive head coach and he's also put in place a structure at the top of the recruitment pyramid where there's new head scouts and a team of data scientists led by Dominic Jordan who will be judged in seasons to come.

The pieces that need to fall in order to make that feasible makes that quite unlikely.

Fun to hold put hope though, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the background!

Jon Smith — remember Mardonna’s agent, Mendes/Raniola before Mendes and Raniola — has spoken to caught offside. Hard to tell if he only is speculating (likely) or if he has some insight:
https://www.caughtoffside.com/2023/...e-progressing-as-5bn-valuation-predicted/amp/
“There is definitely going to be some big global movements which is one of the reasons why I think American investors will be looking to position themselves at some of the biggest clubs, Man United included,” Smith said in an exclusive interview.

“Their potential sale is still in the works. There’s a lot of American interest, but when it comes to valuation – I’d be very surprised if the eventual price didn’t begin with a number five.”

Didn't somebody say Dubai isn't an oil country now.
It's not even a country. Its an emirate principality within the UAE. And yes oil only makes up 4% of its economy. Posters lumping it, the nations of Qatar and Saudi together shows how ignorant they are tbh.

Of all the nonsense whatabout arguments on here, that's probably the dumbest. The UK imports very, very little Oil from the middle east.

Yeah. That’s what I was pointing out. It’s dumb even if the UK imported exclusively Arab oil

As a guy who has visited the States many times and absolutely love the country and it’s people..

Please, no more fvcking American bastards anywhere near our club again
