There’s a Qatar news outlet on Twitter with almost 300k subs claiming the deal is done..not sure how reliable but

Al Watan is the source

It's half owned by
Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani. A lot of pro Qatar stuff this week.

I was in support of SJR until details of his bid and the way he handled the negotiations came out. I thought we would be bought by a true fan who would go above and beyond but the SJ bid exposed the fact that he was just another business man. The fact that he failed to even mirror the concerns and hopes of majority of the fanbase and him even considering giving those leeches a way to stay associated with the club in any form at all shows how out of touch he is with the fanbase.

Hate the Qatar bid all you want, you have to admit they said the things the fans want to hear. Many fans want our club to stop being treated like a cash cow. For once they want to see owners who will actually make commitments towards the club and SJ's bid resonates with them.

I personally don't have any strong feelings towards either to be frank. I didn't start supporting man utd because of it's owners and I won't stop because of that.

I've seen this mentioned a few times now and I'd like to know where the feck you and others where many months ago when the fan groups were begging for him to buy the club and he came on national television and said that he's spoke to the Glazers are length about it and that they didn't want to sell. He even said then and there that any future she would probably have to be a majority stake until further down the line when they were all ready to step aside.

It's literally been there in front of everyone for many months. Whilst fans had his face on banners, asking him to buy the club. It is yours and others issue if you weren't paying attention.

I'm yet to hear an explanation as to why would Ratcliffe invest a dime in the club without having full ownership. He'd be basically making other people richer. Anything from clearing the debt to investing in the stadium would make the Glazers richer.

Well, one explanation, if he were to do that, as it seems he wants to, is that it is in fact more than an investment and he actually cares about the club. Like you said, why else would he be willing to invest so much and not own everything? Perhaps he wants to take a sensible approach, let the club fund itself and just be run properly.

Well that does seem like a big update. I don't put much faith in what journos but it would be very embarrassing if his family's paper posts that the deal is done and it doesn't happen

Will be interesting to see who breaks it. Times will be fuming if its not them

Could any of our Arabic speaking friends translate?
According to Google translate:

Press reports:
The success of Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim’s acquisition of #مانشستر_يونايتد .. and the announcement of the deal soon

This is the editorial director of the newspaper that is owned by Sheikh Jassim's father.

All the news received indicates the success of Sheik Jassim in the aqcusition of Man Utd and the announcement of the deal will be very soon.

Alhamdulillah if true. Let's get this over with so we can move on and start planning for the future.

Well, the fans didn't pay attention then but they have and they don't like it. Especially giving that his major rival for the bid didn't even consider going that route.

This is the first time in 7 months that any Qatar source has said the deal is close

Im excite

Please announce soon, I'm sick of the uncertainty

Could be. Might be some bizarre games. Then again it may be true. I'm waiting for for Ben Jacobs to cover all bases again.
He’s desperately tapping out a tweet right now that makes it sound like he had some info earlier this evening and that aligns with what we have all just read at the same time as him.

Bellend.

This is serious, Al thani's old man owns that publication they wouldn't be putting it out unless true. Welcome to Manchester Mbappe

Bad news

Al Watan made the exact same claim back in February

Translation:
The deal is being cooked on a slow fire...and the official announcement is coming soon ✅

This looks too dodgy for me to believe it.

Its a bit odd but it’s spreading around Twitter like wild fire

It’s a legit news site that’s part owned by his father so unless there’s something lost in translation Id say it’s the biggest update yet. Let’s see if UK press get hold of it

Their website Twitter link (top right of their homepage) links to that account.
They are also listed as a News and Media Organisation. It’s legit. Whether the news is I don’t know but that account is.

According to wiki, SJ’s dad owns this, but wiki is not reliable either..

That’s not the same tweet. That says it’s going slowly but they will announce soon.

The new tweet is announcing they have won.
