Club Sale | It’s done!

Genuinely would have rather they’d held off a couple of years before selling to allow the post-Woodward structure and Ten Hag fully bed in.

It’s annoying that them selling now means we won’t get what we need in Jan, but also I’m concerned about the uncertainty this causes behind the scenes while we’re making some positive progress.
A small period of (final) bad transfer business and outlook is better for the long term in my opinion.

Though I'll hold off judgement just yet because the new owners may just be as bad or worse than we currently have. While selling the club would be a breath of fresh air and new owners coming in is undoubtedly exciting. I'll be a little cautious before celebrating a little too early.

If a journalist speaking to mainstream public says Q1 of 2023 he means Jan-Mar. He’s not talking to accountants.

Plus traditional financial years are addressed in a similar vein to how football seasons go, like 2022/23.

If someones saying Q1 of 2023, then it’s happening around January to March.
If someone said Q1 of 2022/23, then it’s happening around April to June.

The reason we aren't spending now isn't because of the potential change in ownership, it's because of how much was spent last summer. I doubt the club initally budgeted for paying as much as we did for Antony. We probably would've walked away from that deal if not for the really poor start to the season we had.

Well that's exactly what Orstein said, and the only way it can be inturpreted.

Also Newcastle are working on the project basis. Just that it seems to be working quicker. Now it depends how Eddie Howe works in a CL scenario. ETH has experience of the CL.

Newcastle are way ahead in the standings, but I am not sold on them from a squad/playing style perspective. Can you play the style they are playing and just gear up by adding better players?

I agree.

A difference is made between Calendar Year and Financial Year. Which Financial Year a company have is completely voluntary, can be any selection of 12 months.

Our Financial Year is 1 July to 30 June. Q1 of our Financial Year is therefor July, August and September.

But aiming for a sale in the first quarter, you got to mean Jan-Mar.

The unnecessary fear of middle eastern ideology and it “infecting” & “spreading” in the western world is incredible.

Fear of an oil state potentially Changing the club’s iconography and logo based on religious beliefs (which the owners may or may not necessarily follow themselves) is fecking crazy & has never happened.

Imposing sharia law type beliefs on Newcastle and City hasn’t happened and it won’t happen to us either.
That might be the funniest thing Ive ever read here
Newcastle Brown Ale share price just crashed

No offence to Cardiff but its not really a fair comparison to one of the most famous football clubs in the world. Very unlikely we would get the same treatment. Feel like users are trying to find anything to fret about at this point.
I blame Ole.

Yeah he would totally ruin the whole club just because his actual job is a million miles away from being a DOF. Stop being a drama queen.

Ah, yes. I've seen plenty of CEO's become DoF. That's the natural pathway.

My apologies, Ramshock. Glad you clarified the role specfics between the two.

Whilst we're at doing job swaps, shall we get Michael Edwards or Paul Mitchell in as CEO's to replace Richard Arnold?

We need news at this point because we're running out of topics to discuss. I wouldn't be surprised if the feckers take it until mid January to use it as a way to take heat off the loan window (since apparently United are not allowed to buy in January)

I'm still sceptical that the whole story of the potential sale was just a fabrication to distract from Ronaldo leaving and negative consequence that was going to have on the share price / sponsorships.

Absolutely not the case. This is not a transfer saga they can use to distract people, it's literally fraud to lie about this kind of stuff in relation to a publicly listed company.

You can try to weasel out but I don't think so and that's why they quickly came out to confirm something was up - there are strict disclosure requirements that a company has to abide by to stay on an exchange and we're not listed in China.

He is an ex footballer who runs a club and is constantly involved with the clubs scouting staff and DoF he isn't a fecking dentist trying to be a pilot.

Fans are dim, but they're not that dim

ETH has to stay... we should bring in VDS as DoF if we were smart

Some people get fixated on a name and it sticks and sticks, Edwin is the the CEO of Ajax he isn't a DoF and hasn't been one why would he do that.

The best thing we could do is bring him on as CEO and let him run the club and it would mean that the manager won't get changed also which I'd be all for

Zidane and Enrique

Good one
I think ETH will stay on regardless of owner as there isn't really a more promising managerial prospect out there than him, and the only manager who might be seen as more of a "sure thing" than him anywhere in football is Zidane, who doesn't seem interested in managing United or indeed anyone right now. For that reason I think he stays on, and I certainly hope he does.

I can definitely see Arnold and Murtough and the rest of that side of the staff being axed.
I think Zidane is too picky and a stint in the PL with its current stiff competition scares him a bit or he just didnt trust United when we came calling. I dont think he will join us with a rebuild to conduct either. I can see the new owners giving ETH a couple of seasons and then move on from him if he doesnt deliver.

One more thing I see happening if we don't get a strictly 'for profit owner' would be the appointment of VDS as a CEO, he is popular with the fans and it would be one way to curry favour with them.

Edwin as a CEO would work. Also, I think an ex player, such as Beckham, fronting the bid would be acceptable to fans.

Aren’t they just

I feel most posters are scared of their own fecking shadow

If the new owners were smart we'd rebrand the club into All-Black colours. There's no other big club that wears those colours and there's far too many that wear red. We'd always get to wear our home colours in finals or neutral hosted tournaments. And it looks cool as feck.

That all-black Sharp Viewcam kit easily makes my top 2 favourite shirt of ours, so I kinda get where you’re coming from.

Didn't RM have that as their 3rd kit, all black?

How would we be the Red Devils in a black kit?!

We should definitely have more black away kits, they are always my favourites of ours.
