He did a crappy job running PSG, and now doing an equally crappy job for this deal as it is dragging on forever. Useless!
I think it confirms that Glazers know it's a state bid and have reached out to someone (nasser) who they've got a relationship with (as ECA chairman), to wrap up the deal at their price.I don’t think there’s anything clear from that. Seem like the Glazers using someone that presumably knows SJ to lean on him because that’s the direction they’d prefer, or a better bid from SJ encourages a higher bid from Ratcliffe.
That said, it obviously wouldn’t be surprising if it were state backed.
Shh you can’t go against the narrativeAlso, even though it probably is, I’m not sure how Glazers ‘asking Al-Khalaifi to ask Jassim to increase his bid’ is now ‘proof that it’s a state bid’. It’s proof that it’s Jassim’s bid if anything.
If you can’t read it then how can you say that?

Yeah, all those totally serious questions people would definitely have been asking had it been any club except their favourite one...Puts any questions of Jassim not being state backed to bed so.
If he’s done a crap job at psg wait until you hear about Jim’s running of Nice
To be fair if you add this to the story Qatar have backed down from the deadline then it smells like something brewingThe story seems a bit nothing now that I've read it.
Basically Jassims team have used the PSG Chairman as an advisory, which is natural given he has a big standing in football already and has experience.
And Glazers just used him to ask Jassim to give them more money. They'd ask a homeless man for money, so nothing unusual there.
Not quite, just says the PSG guy was in contact with Jassim and the Glazers. Key takeaway for me is that Jassim's bids were always way off the mark... which means they were never close at all.I can't read the article but I don't think there's anything concrete to substantiate it? Just the Athletic trying to associate the Qatar bid with failure.
Share price on the up.

So you’ve read half an article by a reliable source and decided that it’s been written to discredit Qatar and make them seem like losers in the eventuality SJR wins?I managed to read half of it before it blocked the article, didn't see anything other than conjecture.
If you or anyone else can read it then tell me I'm wrong.
That's how it read to me too, it seems as if Al-Khelaifi has bee involved as an advisor from early on rather than that being a recent development and if the INEOS bid seemed to be leading after Sheikh Jassim's bid earlier this week then I don't think that article changes that reality. It also doesn't definitively prove that it's effectively a state bid, it just adds to the suspicions that already existed. The story seems a bit nothing now that I've read it.

Not to me. The Qataris dont do "advisory." They're using the PSG chairman and his relationship with the Glazers to basically tell them its party time. Its a state backed takeover and they'll get their money. I cant see this as anything but a Qatar win.The story seems a bit nothing now that I've read it.

Must mean they’re getting answers. It looks like they’re getting restless as in they expect to take over rather than the narrative that they don’t want to lose face. Obviously I pulled that out of thin air but if they’re having dialogue like this then I do understand why they’re frustrated about the slow progressCould be. Although they have stepped down from ficitive deadlines about 3 times now havent they? Just to increase their bid again
Then again, Keegan had already mentioned that the deadline isn't for an expiring bid. It's only everyone else that said the deadline is for an expiring bid.To be fair if you add this to the story Qatar have backed down from the deadline then it smells like something brewing
its party time. Its a state backed
Nah Brighton won’t sell himGross.
The Glazers had to go through him to get Jassim to raise his bid.How would you come to that conclusion? Seems far fetched

If its state backed, they'll get it. Might not be soon, but these feckers aint walking away from it if its clearly a state funded opportation.
"Fifth Qatar bid significant"
You’d forgive the INEOS posters for being a bit quiet at the moment. The 'its not state backed posters' from last night are a little quiet right now aren't they?

A moment of silence for them
Thanks. Not condescending at all. You're celebrating becoming a marketing and sportswashing tool for Qatar. It says a lot about you mate.
Eventually when you grow up a bit you will see the other side to the argument.
Thanks. Not condescending at all.
