How did the Manchester City Group do at all the other clubs that they own?

Melbourne City? (100%)
Montevideo City Torque? (100%)
Troyes AC? (100%)
Lommel SK? (99%)
EC Bahia? (90%)
New York City? (80%)
Palermo? (80%)
Mumbai City? (65%)
Girona? (47%)
Sichuan Jiuniu? (29,7%)
Yokohama F. Marinos? (20%)

And what effect did that have on what they did at Manchester City? I don’t think what they do at one club really matters for other clubs, they are different clubs, as Nice is totally different in size, ambition and potential to Manchester United. They only own Nice since 2019, maybe a bit soon to judge there?

The Nice fans don’t seem that unhappy about what Ineos did in the last years:

That’s nothing alike. Those smaller clubs are used to enhance everything back to Manchester City as feeder clubs we’ve seen them loan players and even staff for experience etc

Nice wasn’t bought to be a feeder club they’re currently his biggest footballing asset it’s a completely different situation

Lindsell Train LTD and Ariel LC own 17 million shares currently valued at $18 per share. Imagine after SJ takeover the shares go to $28 that’s $170m profit they could potentially lose in a depressed markets, they won’t win but they will send lawyers after the Glazers, this makes things messy in an already messy takeover process, have all 6 Glazers got the stomach for this, I’m not sure. It’s maybe more palatable for SJR to buy the 69% and show a process to taking the club private afterwards. The reality is that everything just stays the same as now 2 weeks into the future destroying ETH chance of improving the First Team Squad.
I’m really not sure Jim buys the rest of the shares since the only reason he’s paying Glazers so much is because he only wants 51 percent.
Look, we don’t know what we’re talking about here but I can’t see how there’s a way to get the bid through without the rest of the shareholders getting paid one way or another.

Its going to be yet another disasterous summer because of ownership uncertainty . Full expect yet another CL group stage exit

Puts any questions of Jassim not being state backed to bed so.
Also why the hell is the PSG president doing the talks? Can Jassim do anything? Will he call the PSG president every time a decision on United would be made?

Find it hard to believe the Glazers would call him. If true then it seems they are just holding out for more money from them

I can't read the article but I don't think there's anything concrete to substantiate it? Just the Athletic trying to associate the Qatar bid with failure.

Share price on the up.

The Qatari are taking the gloves off. The Emir is stepping in. INEOS are finished.

Today, at least.

Does seem like once Qatar get a PL club (probably Liverpool in 2024) that they will just slowly feck off PSG

This is huge. Glazers want to sell to Qatar. Just a little bit more money does it i think.

But the PSG boss, one of the most powerful men in global football, has subsequently been contacted by the Glazers in an attempt to persuade Sheikh Jassim to increase his bid.

Al-Khelaifi, acting in an advisory role for Sheikh Jassim’s bid, has met the Glazers and Raine Group, the American bank that is conducting the sale on behalf of the Florida-based family, to discuss the proposed takeover.

So the glazers want the Qatari money, just as much as possible. Hurry up you damn leeches and sell.

I don’t think there’s anything clear from that. Seem like the Glazers using someone that presumably knows SJ to lean on him because that’s the direction they’d prefer, or a better bid from SJ encourages a higher bid from Ratcliffe.

It also presumably helps both sides to have an advisor that’s done it all before.

That said, it obviously wouldn’t be surprising if it were state backed.

Other PL clubs can feck off. All is well in the PL so long as United are not at the top then?

?

Have you just ignored all the reports that say SJ's bids have undervalued the club compared to SJR's bids everytime, including the latest one?
I’ve bothered to read the details and not just headlines

To be fair the CL aspect has nothing to do with the FA. It’s a UEFA rule that has no bearing on FA allowing the takeover. It’s simply up to UEFA to decide if both can play in CL or not

Also, even though it probably is, I’m not sure how Glazers ‘asking Al-Khalaifi to ask Jassim to increase his bid’ is now ‘proof that it’s a state bid’. It’s proof that it’s Jassim’s bid if anything.

There’s no way they can stop it if it’s actually happening. However it has often been one rule for us, another for the rest in the past. Rooney getting banned for swearing and him and scholes getting banned for red cards in pre season too :wenger:

Congratulations.

Commiserations to Ratcliffe. You played a good hand but in the end you’re just not big enough.
