Yeah resources isn't the issue, we definitely don't need hundreds of millions for a new striker, new midfielder, new goalkeeper, new full backs etc.

I hate this attitude, if you want the club to be successful or spend money you should support a different side
Sorry mate it was only half serious but the point is we dont really need a money cheat, just sensible owners

So any cup fnal we are in we are going to see the Rat pack in attendance, that makes me sick.

If it’s any consolation, once Liverpool and Chelsea are back to usual business, coupled with Newcastle, City and Arsenal, there probably won’t be too many cup finals for them to be going to unless serious investment is made in Utd.

3 more years of glazers with ratcliffe bid or qatar bid which means potentially in 3 years work has already begun on expanding OT, improving the training ground and our ability to fight for the very best players has drastically improved as we have no debt.

No brainer.

Anyone who keeps the glazers on should never been accepted.
Trouble is it’s their club to sell, they can do whatever they like.

Literally everything points towards privet bid. Media engagement in Qatar about the bid, no state funds involved, conservative offers from SJ.

There is zero possibility one of the wealthiest states in the world will lose a bid to a private person for few hundred millions.
100% this. I have said it several times that there is no way Qatar would lose this opportunity to own a sports washers wet dream and go head to head with their rivals in the premier league. They also would hate to lose face from the other gulf states that have successfully bought clubs. The Ratcliffe fan boys conveniently skirt over this though because it makes Jim and the glazers more palatable and they can claim a moral victory.

I'm really struggling to grasp why the Glazers would take a fixed price 3 years from now instead of money now. If its a fixed price then he club increasing in value won't have any benefit to them. If its not a fixed price then they'll lose the massive premium being given just now

The way I read the Swedish Ramble thread is that there is a fixed lower amount (which is probably inflation protected) but it could be higher should the overall value of the club begin to rise. A number of TV deals are up for renewal soon and Direct Streaming has to be on the Premier League's mind which could send things into orbit for them. Obviously with investment in infrastructure and the renewal of our kit deal and a refocusing on marketing strategy, it could be a bumper couple of years before those tranches kick in.

Yeah that's why I made most of this season, unfortunately I couldn't get ticket for Carabao but made it to the two FA Cup trips to Wembley albeit in a losing cause

Are we talking about a hedge fund here?

And how they are going to decide the price is the question. That's why I agree with Ramble's take that its too close to call.
e.g. Renewal money from sponsorship etc will increase our revenue, but may not impact stock price at all. SJR & Glazers might agree on a revenue number that they have to hit in 3 years for their respective put & call option (Strike).

They will be out the process after tomorrow, already lost face by not just blowing Ratcliffe's bid out of the water

I imagine revenue will be a good jumping off point, or an agreed set of metrics determining EV ?

The Ineos bid really isn't as bad as people are making out in terms of getting into bed with the Glazers.

It's forces the Glazers out on 3 years.

Basically means Ineos get control now but don't have to pay as much this minute. Potentially means more money for investment.

That's about the best news I've seen about this Ineos bid. Worst case scenario it's 3 years.

A club in the hand is worth two in the bush

No they won’t ;)

Where you get any confidence from, unless of course you think Ratcliffe and INEOS have British media in their pocket. That's why we keep getting reports about them being huge favourites.

Can see it turning ugly quickly. What a bad foot to start out on. He is going to have to make some pretty big announcements on improvements very quickly or he will lose the fans before he has even started.

#RatcliffeOut is trending on Twitter now.

It really is unreal. I totally despair of our fanbase at times.

There is nothing even remotely similar to having the Glazers in charge to having Jim in charge.

We know for a fact Jim has more than enough money to get us where we want to be. He is not buying us to make money, he is so rich as it is to be taking out a few hundred thousand from United from time to time would be pointless for him.

Compared to Jassim who we know nothing about Jim is in another league and the only sane choice.

There honestly wouldn't be so much hate towards him (include myself) IF he hadn't proposed a deal which allows them to stay
Also if he wasn’t being so cagey over how he plans to manage the debt and was clearer in how he plans to invest in the club.

When you combine that with his running of Nice AND the fact he’s working a deal out that keeps the Glazers in place it’s not difficult to understand why people don’t trust him.

He needs to do it in opening statement

I am not necessarily saying this is out of the question, however, that would mean the media characterizing the future sale mechanisms as "put and call options" was incorrect.

That’s a bold statement. Why is he buying us then?

The running of Nice is an absolute crock of shit and you all know it. You're arguing in favour of someone who hasn't run a football club for a solitary second, why pretend that someone not having previous positively glowing experience of owning a football club bothers you in the slightest?

Yeah the NICE thing is very worrying, also like you say his cagey stance on debt and investment

Oh this is my favourite bit. NICE fans must be listened to at all costs because INEOS haven't turned 60 years of irrelevance into battling with French football's big boy in four years, but please ignore anyone pointing out how Qatar runs literally everything. They're just pro-Glazer wokeists.

Hope the leeches sell up soon. The take it or leave it offer is in so all cards are on the table now. The cnuts will probably delay and let it negatively impact our transfers and contracts from the looks of it.

Possibly because you can only judge from track record and Jim’s isn’t great. Like you said SJ has no track record of running a club so it is impossible to judge.

Is Ineos Sports fully owned by SJR? If there are other investors involved, which I assume, they would demand return on their investment. In that case it's either dividends or they plan to sell us in X years. Ineos Sports reports are not public on their website unfortunately so it is difficult to know. Common practice would be to sell in maybe 3-5 years on average for private equity.

Not sure they should leave offer on table, makes the deadline of Friday look a little soft

Yeah his track record is shocking
Absolutely, that backwards human rights abusing nation have a shocking track record that nobody should be overlooking.

Oh you meant the other guy whose 'shocking track record' is not turning a club whose last trophy was in 1997 into perennial Ligue 1 winners in a few months shy of four years.

I personally get a little nervous when I read the plans to phase out Glazers over 3 years. In the past, the Glazers could have an interest in United improving sportingly as it would bring better earnings to the club and its owners. But with a future perspective of only 3 years, the Glazers will not care at all about the sporting side, as they only have to focus on making money here and now.
Of course, Ineos will have the greatest power and think about the sporting future. But still, it's not good to have an owner who doesn't have to worry in the slightest about the future of the club.
