He knew what he was doing for his own, and the parasites, financial benefits.

Like the parasites, money is the only motivation, the club can rot and fall behind.
Did he? Because despite all the revenue growth he helped the club achieve, he sure was responsible for extremely wasteful transfer and wage spending over the years.

A competent CEO could've achieved much better financial results.

We've only won the league cup trophy in the last 5 years and failed to advance past the quarter finals of knockout phase in the CL, provided that we even make it into the CL.

PSG has gotten to the CL final and obviously won multiple titles and cups in their own domestic league, while signing some of the best players in the world.

I'd trade for that "shambles" any day.
Fair enough. Can’t say I’d argue at this point, though I’m hoping for a better future whoever buys the club.

He will never get me in his camp unless he grows a set and boots them out PRONTO
it’s not like he’s desperate for them to stay. They just won’t make up their mind if they want to leave or not. He’s put in two bids that cover both options, then going and then staying. Unfortunately it’s up to the Glazers to decide when and how to sell up.

for what it’s worth I don’t care who buys us as long as the Glazers have no power afterwards. Them getting the money today, or in three years time doesn’t mean anything to me.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Then poster I was referring to said Jassim is nothing to do with Qatari law when I pointed out his Dad used to be in charge of the country and pass these stupid and unfair laws.

This is not a private bid.

Literally everything points towards privet bid. Media engagement in Qatar about the bid, no state funds involved, conservative offers from SJ.

There is zero possibility one of the wealthiest states in the world will lose a bid to a private person for few hundred millions.

Or both call each others bluff and nothing happens

I don't think anything will 'happen' as such on Friday, but, judging from the amount of stuff they have spewed out thus far, we'll probably get some PR guff from Qatar next week regarding them flouncing off out of the process.

Because the offer is complicated - it's not a clean takeover from day 1, rather a staged one with majority ownership and then purchases of more shares at designated points in time.

Plus they also gave a window to SJ to actually beat that and it seems he keeps underbidding. That's on him, he knows the magic number.
Or they are not sure they want to sell.

One worrying aspect is if the Glazers back out of the deal, due to SJR’s intention of re-listing the club on the London Stock Exchange.
This would obviously mean the rats would have to pay capital gains tax on their shares, which they currently don’t with the current arrangement.

Woodward didn’t intentionally harm the club, he just didn’t know what he was doing half the time.

I agree. I don't think Woodward was as bad as people say. Yes, his signings were underwhelming, but from a commercial standpoint, he was the best in the game. Florentino Perez even said that United were years ahead commercially compared to any other team at the time. Although we overspent under him, he offset the signings with commercial deals. To the point that our results on the pitch dose not really affect our revenue. In my opinion, he's the only one who can deal with and convince Joel and Avram Glazer. Don't forget that he was also limited by the Glazers' structure.

Don't bother, the poster you're replying to is a serial moaner who has been repeating the same point ad nauseum for weeks now.

(For the record, I'd prefer Jassim over INEOS, but some of the reactions here have been hysterical)

The best thing with SJ's last bud it has a time limit. When SJ walk away on Friday, SJR will eat the Glazers alive.

Maybe, there will be no official statements just stuff leaked to the press.

I mean Jassim clearly knowes that unless he offers more per share then Radcliff there is zero chance of his off been accepted. So the only thing that makes sense is this is a PR move

PSG’s financial advantage/gap to all the other League 1 clubs is much bigger than even City’s to the other PL clubs. No one in League 1 can even get close to PSG’s spending/transfers/wages.
Put PSG with the same squads and performances over the last 10 years in the PL and I doubt they would have won a single league title. They are run terribly.

That’s just fiction though isn’t it.

Why is it fiction? Could easily be fact.

If he wants to play Qatari fantasy football in the Prem, there would literally be like 15 other clubs who would jump at the chance to be owned by them.

Or they are not sure they want to sell.
 putting every possible scenario out there doesn't make your argument likely. tier 1 outlets said they were in final stages with Ratcliff.
So there is certainly a takeover on the cards.

They also said that minority investment is still an option and Glazers were still engaging with those groups. I made no argument either.

Clearly not all of the Glazers want to sell which has been widely reported

I think they will sell but this delay is clearly not about the bids in my opinion, points more to all siblings getting their ducks in a row and on the same page (whether its with SJR or SJ)

When you break down the bids they are for more or less the same present value (those who bothered to read the details from tiers 1s and not just headlines can see that).

Present value and future value are not the same (due to time value of money)

It's always going to be an option becuase they haven't wrapped up the final details. Just like Jassim bid is still on the table after the deadline. It doesn't mean there is a fair likelihood itl be looked at.

The point is, they were in final stages with Ratcliff which means they were very much on track with a takeover.

Hence why I asked rather than trawling through tens of pages of uninformed nonsense.
Occasionally there will be some good (yet mostly speculative) discussion, but for actual developments I think the Tweets Only thread is the one worth following.

2 Glazers aren't staying for 10m per year dividends, INEOS and Ratcliffe know that to make this work they will need to invest and big and the Glazers who stay hope that in doing so their shares increase in value.. will only happen if the club succeeds.

INEOS wouldn't be paying north of 5bn quid blindly, they know the state United are in, they know what needs doing otherwise what's the point

Do they really? The Glazers have been making money in the last 10 years without spending a penny and the club wasn't successful. It is abundantly clear that the Glazers dont care about success.

Another note, if Ratcliffe and INEOS know what state United in, they surely know how the fans feel about the Glazers and they are going into bed with them, so I will disagree and say INEOS and Ratcliffe dont know United as well as you think they do.

Nor can he afford to. Glazers staying is the only way Ratcliffe funds this takeover. That's something a lot of his backers haven't come to terms with.

Yeah we are absolutely screwed under him

Well its not on track, the process was supposed to be finalised by Easter, then by end of season. So there is a reason for the delay and if they had chosen SJR to move forward with then that would have been announced as the preferred bidder (tiers 1s report there is no preferred bidder)

The delay is clearly on Glazer end here

I could pretty much guarantee anything them leeches sign, will have them staying for "a minimum of X years as shareholders", They are too greedy to allow themselves to be pushed out after this process. This is why they they are going for SJR's deal. Its also prob why INEOS have included them staying on in the deal, as theyve prob figured out Glazers prob have no intention of fully selling otherwise

The Ineos bid really isn't as bad as people are making out in terms of getting into bed with the Glazers.

It's forces the Glazers out on 3 years.

Basically means Ineos get control now but don't have to pay as much this minute. Potentially means more money for investment.

Or both call each others bluff and nothing happens

My money is on this, I dont see anything happening with this sale for a while. The offers have been on the table for months now, the Glazers still with 0 idea what they want to do.

One day its stay, another day sell and then minority investment.

They are a shambles, the only way this gets resolved is if Ten Hag gets fed up and says, I cant deal with this, I am not going into pre season without knowing what happens and quits. Other than that, I can see this dragging on for months

I also don't buy they won’t have any say in matters
