This is worse than the transfer Saga's we have...

The bids are in, they want to bleed the Qataris dry, surely there has to be an end date to this?

We cant keep having improved bids every 4/5 weeks. Other clubs are ahead with their transfers and we will be left to pick up what is left at high prices.. nothing new there.

I can see us going into Pre season with the ownership not sorted, which would mean another wasted season.

The latest Qatar bid is their end game and makes clear that they won’t be going in again with anymore bids. It should hopefully bring things to a conclusion now.

Sounds like its the take it or leave it stage....... my fear is that the Glazers will stupidly leave it.

Even if true......what kind of process are Raine/Glazers running here.....

It really is appaling the way they are dealing with this....

I cannot for the life of me think that a decision on this has all not been made some time ago - otherwise what has everyone been doing all this time?
Its business. They dont care how anyone thinks they're dealing with it, as long as they get the deal they want.

Hopefully the Saudis LIV Golf move has forced the Qatari hand blowing INEOS out of the water and we finally see the back of the Glazers for good. A big dick swinging contest over who can sportswash the best

Even if we do end up stuck with Ratcliffe and his Glazer chums, its time to just announce the damn thing either way

Which take-it-or-leave-it offer is this? Second or third? Or has Jassim decided to actually take this seriously? Whatever the case, unless he has finally offered more money than INEOS, i doubt the Glazers particularly care.

Mail Sport understands the Sheikh has also told those involved that he will engage up until Friday. After then, the bid will stand, but there will be no further negotiations.

So it’s not a final bid, they have until Friday to negotiate further. Looks like it’s getting done

Also, there is nothing wrong or out of the ordinary with how they are dealing with it anyway. The only issue here is that fans and writers seemed to have decided that there is a deadline of the opening of the transfer window otherwise the club is ruined forever or something. That’s just nonsense. If this deal was concluded in October there would be absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. And of course, new owners would then be in place for any subsequent transfer windows. The need for it to be done by the summer is a fan created deadline.

Yep, but I also feel that the Qataris probably feel they have gone so far... will they accept defeat?

Its all a real mess isn't it? How can you come out 6 months ago, looking to sell the club and still now they dont know if they want to full sale or partial.

Secondly, how can a buyer like SJR think they will be popular with United fans if they propose a deal to keep the glazers? I mean as a new owner you want the fans to be on board right?

INEOS are a UK company, surely someone from them would have seen the bad PR being associated with Glazers would do.

These leeches need to be gone and full gone.

Ratcliffe and his petrochemicals firm, Ineos, have emerged as clear favourites to complete a deal with the club’s owners, the Glazer family, and have entered the final stages of negotiations with Raine, the New York bank handling the sale.

Is the Sheikhs bid still lower than Ineos?

Obviously it's higher with debt and pledged investment but the Glazers don't care about that so it's irrelevant

Now that I think about it, this might be Qatari damage control. Once INEOS is announced, they could say they didn't receive a reply, despite their improved offer, and save face in some manner.

I think INEOS is imminent. At least there's finally some movement.

EDIT: Welp, The Times got ahead of me.

Quoting Lawton here:

"Sheikh Jassim will withdraw from the process if his fifth and final offer for Manchester United is not accepted by Friday. That reads to me like they fear Ratcliffe/Ineos have won and they’re walking away on their own terms. That said, nothing is signed yet."

The guy from Iceland was probably offering more money than Ineos mate

Little weasel Jim putting a premium down because he only wants 50% of the club has completely fecked this whole process up. He needs to take his bid and the fact that he will keep the Glazers on and feck right off

Fingers crossed for Ineos (or more accurately, Not Qatar).

A 6.5B valuation + a further 1B in developement is incredible value for the leeches, would be quite mad turning that down after everything

Surely comes off the heels of their regional rivals recent developements in the sporting sphere. They don't want to be left behind in the dust

Qatar are ending this like an episode of A Place In The Sun, where they 'leave an offer on the table' to save face. I can already hear Laura Hamilton recording her voiceover - Jassim still has his heart set on a Premier League club and hopes to return to the UK soon to continue his search. We wish him all the best...

Yep I think this is nothing but PR to save face as they know they’ve already lost. INEOS deal is probably very close and this is their way of making it look like they walked away rather than lost.

yep. Seems it’s a last roll of the dice but that Ratcliffe is still in front.

If the reports are to be believed. I prefer Jassim's approach to this. He just put in improved bids. So straight forward compared to Jimmy's method of twisting and turning, this addon, that addon... as if he doesnt even want to spend so much money to begin with....
Ratcliffes method is the much more standard method of buying a business where you agree to a rough terms of a deal and then make minor adjustments in later negotiations. Qatar's method of just bigger offers is more of a joke - if you wanted it for that price, make it during the normal bidding phases, not adding 2 fecking offers after the bidding phases were done with. These 2 were both desperation offers from Qatar and it's a bit of a joke because they realized they weren't bidding high enough to start with or didn't realize the Glazers were serious about their price, or that Ratcliffe was more competitive from the start.

If the bidding process is anything to go by in terms of how we'll be run going forward, I would steer WELL CLEAR of Qatar. Because they've looked like a joke from the outside. Like Woodward trying to buy Maguire, with the exception of infinite money. That is not what anybody should want.
