Club Sale | It’s done!

This is just so exhausting. The fact the PL has said nothing on this makes me want Qatar even more.

There should be some peer pressure within the league not to feck up an institution like United but no one seems to give a toss unless we become too big/strong
Is your belief that the Premier League should be deliberately interfering to encourage a sale to Qatar?

It would be extremely unprofessional for either side if that were the case. The Qataris for trying to save a few quid, and Raine for letting the commission influence their decision. It is more likely that Qatar tried to rush things, or wanted more feedback about the bids that Raine weren't willing to give. Maybe they have their way of doing business, and they found out money doesn't always talk.

More likely a cultural clash

The PL should probably have some sort of rule in place around change of ownership. It should be time limited to protect the interest of the most important part of all this - The fans.

But in truth, this has shown you how we little we matter in the grand scheme of things.

Of course there is sportwashing just like SJR having your entity attached to such a historic big club.

City were slated because they cheated if they had stayed within FFP legitimately they wouldn’t have 4 prems In 5 years and no one would be moaning.
Qatar != Ineos. The optics are way worse and basically you become a City/PSG regen.

City were slated for gaining success by whoring themselves out to a petrostate. The blatant cheating just made them a bit more laughable.

I doubt that the son of a former Qatari PM would know that the United Stand even exist just as I very much doubt that the owner of a 14b rated company even know who the Muppeteer is. My point is that he can't accuse anyone to be a crony when he himself claim to have reliable sources within the INEOs camp.

I find these personal attacks from youtube channels as disgusting tbh. It was already silly having the two biggest channels fighting one another but its now spreading with the splinter groups and now even with the small channels.
It's very plausible that these businessmen, who have thousands working for them, have employed someone to seek out influential social media personas and paid them to endorse their bid. I would almost be shocked if they didn't.

Now having said that, that would not be the case with Goldbridge. Now he clearly wants Qatar, but I don't think he has ever outright said it, nor outright endorsed it. He actually has criticized them and spoken about concerns about how PSG is run, and while he doesn't seem pro SJR bid, he does tell people it's still a good deal and to remember this is just a guy that wants to buy our club and improve it and not to personally attack him.

No they shouldn't it would be absurd you have to realise not everything revolves around United no matter how much you like to believe it.

Here is what I think. Youtube had given common joes the opportunity to build a business, gain fame and even hire people to work for them. Suddenly former police officers or fat former soldiers are finding themselves in studios with former United players and with people paying money to see them. Such situation has resulted into proper turf wars between the channels. This is now infecting smaller channels who are finding it hard to create a space for themselves in an already saturated market. The sort of nastiness between these channels precede United's sale and had risked sucking up even good people like Sam of United People TV

What does that mean?

It means Qatar are getting desperate and making offers outside of the bidding process due to reports that the Glazers are closing in on a deal with Ineos. This is exactly what the Glazers will have been hoping for and will certainly give them something to think about (do we delay a little bit longer and see if we can draw some more money out of the Qataris), but while the Qatar bid remains per share lower than the Ineos one (as is still the case), Qatar are unlikely to become the preferred bidder.

Well as it stands there’s no preferred bidder. At least not one that been confirmed

The journalist reporting on this is just ridiculous really...how do they know anything behind the scenes?
Because the Glazers pull the strings by briefing them to get the money up from both of them. That's what always happens with the seller.

Nope, they should be setting a deadline for the scum either way.

I read (but not sure) that the previous scouse owners tried to go back on selling and the PL told them to do one. We've been on sale for a whole season and it looks like it might run into the summer. That's unacceptable.

Doesn't that depend on the bid or has Ratcliffe not made 2 different bids.

No, not yet, although if Avram and Joel have indeed decided not to sell then all the Qataris are effectively doing is pushing up the price that Ineos will eventually have to pay for 50.01% of the shares. Qatar perhaps made a strategic error in publicly proclaiming that they would not entertain any deal in which the Glazers retained a minority shareholding. Ultimately, none of the fans, the press, or even the bidders know what the Glazers really want here and therefore we are all in the dark about what is going to happen.

I was skeptical there wasn't more images of the sheikh before I found a twitter thread on r/reddevils that shown a few different snaps, one in particular showing him performing a pilgrimage in Makkah, possibly Umrah or Hajj.

Ahh, right. I'm not sure how we'd go about implementing something like that but it's certainly a desire I can understand.

The PL will get pressure from the government to get the Qatar deal done asap.

Reports suggested that Ineos were already in advanced talks with Raine over the weekend with the Qataris complaining about lack of feedback so maybe that was it. Meanwhile we're all waiting for some kind of official announcement.

Qatars bid will be more favourable.

Ineos reportedly have two bids on the table - one for 50.01% of the club with Joel and Avram retaining minority positions and one for the full 69% of Glazer class B shares. Both Ineos bids reportedly value the club higher than the Qatari bid lodged yesterday. Qatar's bids have been lower than those of Ineos at every stage of the process (although following Qatar's increased bid yesterday, they are now not too far apart). Of course, all of this is based upon the figures reported in the media, the accuracy of which, is in doubt.

The first thing you mentioned is amazing, as fans, we should all think this way, anyone has an opportunity to do the same thing. Sure it can lead to bad content out there, but it comes down to what people watch, if someone puts out bad content no one watches, they go away. Goldbrigde has 1.7 million followers, he's knowledgeable, he's entertaining and he's really good at what he does. Try talking for 4-6 hours in a day, it's what I do for a living, it's fecking hard, and I have to talk about predetermined topics, he's coming up with everything on his own. I know it's popular on here to shit on him, but clearly people like him. And Goldbridge has never spoken badly about any other show, when discussing fan protests and stuff he often pleads for all factions of United fans to come together, says he'll work with other people and shows for the cause, it's the other shows that shit on him. And maybe it's because Ste Howson only has 200 K followers and he's jealous that Goldbridge is clearly much more successful and better at it then him. He's even spoken highly of Muppetiers several times in the past. I haven't seen any of the beef today, but from what I gather it started with a baseless accusation from the other guy.

Not basing this on United, I mean a rule in general.

I know it was a one-off situation, but it really helped with the speed of the process when the UK government forced the sale of Chelsea to happen by a certain date.

This is what Ratcliffe said in the official statement upon buying the club:

Nice have been in European club competition regularly since he took over. My god people find it hard to read. That quote doesn’t say thing about Champions League participation. The Europa and Conference are European club competitions. And quite frankly, Nice were doing fine to be in that considering the size of the club.

I wasn't arguing either way, just providing his words.

Athletic is a very reliable outlet and I very much doubt that the former employee they interviewed was Nice FC tea lady. Thus I do believe that the aims were indeed the CL. It's also in line to the signings made ie veteran players with experience in top leagues. Money doesn't seem to be the most pressing of issues. There again NICE/Lausanne run on fumes compared to Manchester United and INEOS has never attempted to ratify their many problems by throwing money at it. Ratcliffe himself stress on sustainability and not overpaying. The concern of gross mismanagement is quite real I am afraid. As Stephen Howson like to say, you wouldn't give your dog to someone whose got a reputation of mistreating dogs even if he promises not to mistreat your dog.

Oh I have many concerns with Qatar. Al-Khelaifi is too close to the players, they paid silly salaries for certain players and I called their former sporting director Leonardo is, alongside Bob Ratcliffe and cyclist man, the most overrated and luckiest people in football. God knows how that idiot managed to work with Inter, Milan and PSG. However there's one thing that the Qatari are willing to do that we've yet to see Ratcliffe do and that is to constantly throw silly money to make things work. They also seem better then Ineos in everything whether its first team (PSG are first, Nice are 10th), the youth academy (PSG are second in the group A of the U19 league, Nice are 4th last in Group D) etc

You believe and you very much doubt…that’s great, but the conversation was about Ineos promising in public that their aim is to be consistently in the Champions League.

I don’t want an owner that is going to throw silly money at it to make it work. That won’t be enough in the Premier League. No amount of being able to throw money at things makes state ownership palatable for me.

But again this whole Outlook is based on our current situation because we are frustrated and want to get rid of Glazers immediately .

But putting deadline or window on sales of the club could be counter productive , there is nothing unusual with the timeline of current sales process and it isn't even that long it's just feels long because of our own impatience

And whole Chelsea thing was big exception it should rather stay that way .

I wasn't attacking anyone really and quite frankly I hinted two people one of whom is not Goldie. My aim was to give you a view of what's going on. Goldbridge get hit because he's not the brightest bulb around, he's not from Manchester, he can't care less to stepping on top red toes and he was among the first to open a channel thus he's got a huge legacy fan base. He also have some great qualities as well. For example he doesn't torture you to give you the information, he doesn't think he's a mix of Napoleon Bonaparte and SAF in terms of tactics, he doesn't feel obliged to say hello to every poster logging in and he stays on topic rather then delve on how many miles he ran or banter. People tend to like genuine people and Goldbridge is genuine. He also suffer the consequences of what he is. He gets attacked by everyone and since he doesn't kiss anyone's arse he can't rely on many celebrities.

It might not work and you'll probably right but I'd rather have an incompetent owner who throws money into the problem then a more incompetent owner who doesn't

This is where it makes no sense to me, why would you bid less than what your competitor is bidding for the same exact deal, why would glazers or raine even entertain the deal. Heck if this is the case and I was glazer I would tell jassim to just f off if he isn't serious, which again why would you bid less knowing you have to atleast match that price.

The journalist reporting on this is just ridiculous really...how do they know anything behind the scenes?

Is it possible that every move that the Glazers, Sir Jim or the Qatari's make, they report it to the journalist?

By whom? Aside from a group of United and Liverpool fans and some German club fans nobody seems to give a shit.

Wouldn't they then report it to a financial journalist? It's a multi billion dollar deal what benefit would it be reporting this to Goldbridge, Mitten or whoever
