It's very insightful.

But just maybe not the kind of insight you wanted to see.
Harry, you’re doing a lot of peacocking for a man who told us for many weeks that minority investment from investment firms was nailed on and we were all too stupid to see it?

Ben Jacobs here saying the bidding process is working in dollars. SJ is about $7bn whereas SJR bid is $6bn?

Edit: Goes on to say the £ valuation of both is quite similar.

The $7bn includes the $1bn investment.

Weirder to be shilling for petro state dollars when you don't know if they are a good option just b/c it worked for your rivals
Weirder than hoping for a guy with a proven track record of being shit at running football clubs?

Not according to his tweet. He says they are adamant the $1bn is on top not inclusive.

Read it again:

Although the Nine Two Foundation's latest offer has not been disclosed, my understanding is it is over $7bn (£5.6bn) all in, inclusive of the pledged investment. Bids are placed in dollars in this process.

Harry has nothing to prove.

Qatars bid includes future investments which are of no importance to the sale.

If Jassim's bid is for 100% of the club, as many are now stating, then doesn't that make it considerably less than the offer from SJR?

No because by 100% as they keep weirdly saying whenever it’s Qatar they mean 69% seeing as that is what the Glazer’s own therefore all they can sell, the other 31% is owned by stock holders and would need to be bought separately.

He then mentions in another tweet that it is on top of it. He is basically covering every base.

Not a single journalist have any clue on what the bids are.

An ounce of logic would tell you it quite obviously does not. Just apply a shred of critical thinking.

Despite the nonsense that gets talked in here this is a serious merger and acquisition process with people who are specialists in this process handling negotiations on both sides.

Why would Qatar include in the official bid something that is completely inconsequential to the Glazers?

I think it has to be $7bn + $1bn. Surely Raine would have told all parties that they are only interested in the actual sale price irrelevant of any future investments?

From what I can gather Jacobs made a mistake in his first story saying it was inclusive of the pledge so rectified himself in the later story saying that the pledge is on top so separate and NOT inclusive or included in the offer, is that your understanding too ?

Not sure. He's all over the place with it

From what I can gather Jacobs is a charlatan that uses double speak to give the impression he knows more than he does, when what he knows and his sources are no better than what we have.

Yeh, it's obviously PR and not part of the official bid.

All Harry’s have to be in their toes at all times.
The minority investment crowd on here have 10x worse than nutters from the big two bids. They need to ease their way back into society after this

Say it again for those in the back with the Qatar flag wrapped around their heads.

Manchester United makes plenty of it's own money, unfortunately the Glazers spent a massive amount of it paying back the debt they took on to buy the club. It's not the same thing.

It'd be the same if Manchester United was a small penniless little club with no history of winning anything, with a shed for a stadium.

It really doesn't matter who buys Manchester United as long as they at the bare minimum spend the money the club makes on the club.

Yes, it's weirder to move from criticizing your rivals for being funded by a petrostate to aspiring to become like them all in the name of social media glory-hunting. Don't care what SJR has done with smaller clubs in smaller leagues or any other fantasyland narrative put out as a coping mechanism to mask wanting to be a petrostate's plaything. I just want to see the hypocrites in tears.

Absolutely incredible that so many of you are twerking for this level of shadiness to take over the reigns. Would he ever even attend OT if he was successful? Big red flags over him.

I’ve had a bad feeling about this bloke for months now.

Initially he quotes $7bn which is inclusive of the investment. This is clarified later when stating the two bids are similar in terms of valuing the club. Lordspud quotes the $7bn figure as being higher than Ratcliffes offer, but it isn't because the bid is not for $7bn.

In my post I should have used "figure" and not "bid" to avoid confusion.

Sources indicate the club valuation part is in the same ballpark as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, believed to be north of $6bn, and thus circa £5bn. The pledged investment from Sheikh Jassim is understood to be $1bn (£0.8bn).

$6bn + $1bn = $7bn (his original tweet) where he said all inclusive. His additional tweets are just a break down.

No, it's the same thing. If they didn't expect Qatar to use their petrodollars to invest heavily, they wouldn't support them so strongly. All this talk of "Manchester United can make money on its own" is true but purely cope. If that were the expectation, we wouldn't see all this embarrassing flag-waving for Qatar.

How about 20, 30 or even 50? Shall we become mid-table to make sure no one can say anything? What happens when Green peace start on Ratcliffe?
That's why we need Qatar - seeing the Extinction Rebellion twots taking on the Qatari system would be far more entertaining. :)

A lot of fans just want Glazers gone. Isn’t that obvious?
People were joking about Jim not having the money early on but he’s found a way to buy us cheaper, but officially more or at least equal to Qatar, by trying to get the two Glazers to stay so he doesn’t have to buy their shares.
It’s a joke. This isn’t the only way for Jim to buy the club but the way he wants it and feck him for it.
Feck Qatar as well by the way, not happy with either option
