I told you to bore off with the race card.

You got a stick up your backside about being called out and got hostile.

Get a grip.

Going through your posts, seems all you do with your time is search for arguments online for some pathetic reason.

Tataa, waste someone elses time.
And somehow i am the one who is being hostile and pathetic. Some people lack complete self awareness. Your replies to my posts have been replete with petty insults and you are surprised when i hit back at you in the same vein.
Don't have time to waste on going through your post history as it’s going to be all puerile and juvenile.

Basicallry, Sam doesn't seem to know anything new.

I remember when I used to watch him on the Sunday Supplement and used to think he doesn't know what he is talking about, especially in relation to United.

I recall when Moyes was our manager ( this immediately came to mind, when this reference came out yesterday, as we were due to playing West Ham), that he should continue with his methods whilst being in charge when we were losing right, left and centre.

I was just reading the BBC Sport article about Ferguson’s retirement and part of it detailed United’s reluctance to pay off Moyes’ contract to get him into the club earlier (would it have helped a wee bit?), and this bullshit reminds me of it. These knobbers are still fecking around and they don’t give a feck. It’s all about the dollar.

No positive news after two important defeats.. I’m hoping that’s a sign they’re selling.

There's been speculation for years that we also don't sign players until the end of the window because we don't want to pay their wages over the summer.

Sounds crazy and yet very believable for these idiots. They are missing the forest (paying people too much money because of incompetence) for the trees (not paying out a couple of months' wages).

With a bit of luck we will get some news this week on the back of top 4 being a little less certain and the Glazers worrying that the price will drop.

It'd even make the last two results palatable.

It is completely "believable". Remember, Woodward, sanctioned long contracts to certain players, that we been unable to offload, to retain "book value."

I want this poisen out of the club!

100% believable - there's a school of though in economics that you should never go above your set spending budget, and a lot of people follow it religiously to the point that it doesn't make financial sense (false economy).

It's the reason why companies lose employees because they refuse to pay them a fair wage, but instead end up paying more to replace them.
I've been butting heads with my companies finance head for months now because their set budget for employee equipment is too low, and they don't understand the knock on effect it can have in productivity and employee engagement (the latter is mostly in cases where the employee asks for equipment and they're turned down by the finance dept., even though there's a good use case for said equipment)

IF that was true it would make Jassims bid much more palatable. Attractive even.
massive if though…
This has always been the case people just refused to believe it because he’s from Qatar.

Not all fans are 18 year old kids who want to sell our soul to become a state run club. People desperate for Qatar to win clearly do not understand what has made this club great in the eyes of so many, including opposition fans. It’s delusional. We will become city on steroids whilst conveniently forgetting everything we’ve slated them
for since becoming state owned.
The first and most important requirement to be a big club is to win titles. Of course tradition and history take part. But make no mistake there are no big teams without titles. I get why people are desperate to have someone like Qatar.

We've been served shit for over 10 years now. That's a long long time.

Then in typical Woodward fashion completely overpay them on wages anyway

I'd go as far as to say its the prevalent philosophy. Lose a skilled worker you've spent thousands training because you refuse to pay them what they want, then spend thousands more training a new guy that may very well never reach their level. Rinse and repeat. Even the recent strikes stink of it; they pay more dealing with the strikes than just paying up. Funny equipment story; amazon are currently building an indoor drone so the engineers are building prototypes; they need to justify every part of the order individually (props body motors etc), to the extent that the prototype is massive currently due to cost and will likely cost way more to reprogram for production than just to get it sorted now. Bear in mind, this entire drone other than the lidar dome probably cost around $150, and a team of 6 or so have been working on it for a few weeks with 2 of them putting in over 100 hours each. [our company does equipment pretty well, we have an equipment budget for the year (yes rigid, but we can request morein the previous years review) and anything above that must be exceptional and signed off by senior management.]

That reminds me of of what Zlatan said about the mentality of the club when they charged him for ordering extras (cant remember whether it was a drink or something else) for his room. Like he felt they were cheapskates.

not bedding in new signings during pre-season is absurdly self-defeating.

You know when Romano says something on the United Stand but doesn't have the balls to tweet it, he definitely doesn't know.

I have found that with him before. I have found over the past couple of years, the best source is David Ornstein. He does not post too much online, but when he does, it normally comes to fruition.

They Glazers would rather squeeze another $10,000 than leave the club with ample time to regroup and proceed pre-season.

They really are the definition of pond scum.

That's kinda fair enough, I guess. Anyone watching that stuff and expecting to be reliably informed is gonna have much bigger problems than Romano guessing.

But we mainly sign players in July like most clubs?

There's a lot of racism in the way Jassim and his bid are being assessed. I don't think it's always deliberate, but that's the way unconscious biases work sometimes.

If a member of the ruling royal family from an autocratic monarchy in Europe, who by all accounts had nowhere near enough verified money for a mult-billion pound bid, and whose government owned other teams, were bidding for the club, on behalf of a foundation whose paperwork says that state funding is a possible source of their money.....then I can guarantee you everyone would be calling that a state bid.

Yes, we do.
Off the top of my head, we bought Antony, Casemiro, Varane, Ronaldo, Maguire, Bruno and Diallo/Pellistri late in the respective windows. Fred wasn't particularly early while Dan James was probably cheap, so who cares.

This is the last five years or so. While not all those would be due to 'saving' wages, it sure is an interesring coincidence. But please feel free to bring up the your 'facts'.

It’s because he’s paid to appear. All those journos are, why turn down free money?

There's certainly prejudice and a willingness to go with your 'gut' from a lot of posters on here but it's not racism.

And the scepticism is hardly unexpected. We've seen the play before and in the absence of transparency (no one knows much about the guy), it's hardly unbelievable people would say these things.

Fred was signed on July 1st, Lukaku, Schneiderlin, Blind, Malacia, Eriksen, Martinez, Sancho, Wan Bissaka, Matic, Lindelof, Bailly, Dalot, Mkhitaryan, ibrahimovic, Schweinsteiger, Shaw even Herrera was signed in July. Now of course some players are signed later, that's true for all clubs and it has nothing to do with clubs trying to salvage wages, it's just that clubs negotiate longer for certain players or that certain players weren't the first option.

Anyway United have not had a particular tendency to sign players late and it's definitely because they didn't want to pay players' wages.

He is my favourite journalist as well

It's been a ride for roughly a year now, was able to somewhat follow it from distance, but was absorbed lately and have no idea where we stand these days. Would someone show mercy and give me an update on how take over things evolveing? Be much appreciated!

Also, if you have it in you, is crowd-owning still off the table, or is it something at least privately discussed in and around Manchester?

First round of bidding showed that the only full takeover bids were coming from Ineos and Sheikh Jassim

Second bidding round introduced a weird Finnish man to that picture, who many aren’t taking as a serious bidder

Now we’ve had the “final bids” 9 days ago and haven’t heard anything since. Some journalists said at the time we should hear something within 7-10 days from then. Tomorrow is the 10th day.

Minority American equity bids are still lingering in the background but apparently they’re reviewing the full takeover bids as priority for now and will move to the minority if no full buyout is agreed

Nobody knows what the Glazers will decide to do

We reckon we're either gonna be sold to a right wing British chemicals billionaire or some Qatari bloke no one's ever heard of who is obviously a front for state ownership.

Fan ownership is as far away from possible as it's ever been.

EDIT - 'right wing billionaire', as opposed to all those socialist ones...

Being critical of somebody who is a different race is very different to being critical or prejudiced towards someone BECAUSE they are a different race.
It’s too easy (and incredibly lazy) to wave away legitimate concerns as race based comments just because you don’t agree with them.
It’s prevalent on this forum and in wider society and I think it is a dangerous road to go down.
Having specific concerns about Qatar, about their human rights record, about state ownership, and about financial doping of our sport is a legitimate position to take and should not be shut down as a racist argument.

Thank you @LawCharltonBest and what a name!, also @DOTA who i reckon is a solo mid laner

My reading here, and my brief news googling, ended in confusion when I read about exactly such 'minority bids'.
Is that a clever (as in solution oriented clever) instrument, aligned with the club's best interests, or did I get it right that it's more of a clever (as in squeezing the lemon clever) seller's strategy? Is that known?
