I don't think we should spend too wildly, the biggest spenders in this league bought their way down to the bottom half of the table.

They will come good, also have already secured Gusto & Nkunku for next season too

Didn't he say something about being careful
Which translates to not spending? If you mean the Fred/dumb money comment then I don’t think he was wrong. He’s said previously that the biggest correlation between football and success is money. So there is that. He’s also aware of what would be needed to make good on his pledge to win the CL. I personally have no doubts about spending if we are bought by INEOS.

Yeah I suspect you are smack on,admittedly it may not be those 3 players mentioned last week but get your point about having definite targets
They probably might only get 1 of those 3 players, Maybe K Coman but they will already have a huge list, they want united , will they get it ?
I don’t know how close SJ and SJR bid is and how much the Glazers would want to reduce any chance of future business transactions in the Qatar state by selling to SJR, what I do know is that Qatar want a slice of the PL pie and they will fire people all over the club causing a mass exodus, directors, players, groundsmen the lot!

If anyone thinks that if SJ wins that he will keep Arnold, Murtough, Fletcher and have a period where he waits and sees their performance, then they are clueless.

In the last decade from 2012-2013 which is our last Prem League title, the club has won 1 PL, 1 Fa Cup(3 Finals), 2 Carabo cup wins, 1 Europa League(2 Finals), European super cup (Final) so 5 trophies in 11 seasons, 8 finals a trophy every 2.25 years ( I have not added 2 Community shields) and we’ve qualified, 1st, 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 6th and 3-6th this season we’ve played CL 7 seasons and Europa League 4, in that period City have only played CL football. This is on the field due diligence and Qatar have already done this, SJR probably as well.

We’ve only scored over 80 goals once, our last title win and over 70’s twice, once being the PL win a decade ago, and the other being under Ole.

Just over a decade of pure mediocrity, we average 63 goals scored in a full season and concede an average of 40 goals, with an average position of 4.2 which is currently where we are!

The club has employed 9 managers in that very short time with two being employed in a very short interim period, Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick, the other 7 have had no time to really do anything with Ole and Jose lasting the longest at 2 and half years.

My point is that level of mediocrity will not be tolerated if SJ buys the club with Qatar, they just won’t tolerate a team that scores 50-60 PL goals in a season, to them that’s boring football and it’s not what you pay billion of pounds for !

no for sure they will spend big but by the looks of things SJR is in the lead…
That’s the thing we actually don’t know anything with whose In the lead, I don’t believe anything from the British media concerning this and if anything the most likely deal is the Glazers to get the SJ to up the bid, Qatar will not want to lose this bid now it’s so public, but they could !

IF that was true it would make Jassims bid much more palatable. Attractive even.
massive if though…
Of course they're going to say that when they're denying that it is a state bid. And also denying that there will be loans, yet that's also listed on there.

But a lot of people will believe Qatar's PR, while disbelieving everything that Ineos says.

This has to be dumbest false equivalence I've read in this thread and that is saying something.

The biggest spenders in the league are making the PL look like a farmers' league and the other biggest spenders have as many CL trophies in the modern football era as us.

The problem of the new Chelsea regime is lack of football acumen and experts, something we're very much aware of under the dog Woodward.

Worth remembering that Newcastle have mega rich owners but Howe talks about FFP
They don’t turnover anywhere near yet what the elite clubs do last year they turned over less than Everton and West Ham they turn over £180m which is less than 33% of City, Liverpool and united. FSP completely destroys them for 3 or 4 years, they need CL which gives them another £70m plus they need bigger sponsor deals but right now assuming they jump to £200m they can only spend 90% of that so £180m and it’s safe to assume their wage bill is now close to £150m they need CL, once they get in your never get them out ?

Everyone knows this is a state bid, but they have Uefa in their pocket so obviously they are trying to sort EPL and other areas out before making a final bid for control of united.

Hasn't his dad said he's not really interested in Football but could be mistaken
No he said his son is trying to buy Man United and using his money but he thinks it’s a bad investment, people are ignoring the prestige buying United would bring to the family through the Emir. To lose now they’ve been so publicly invested after hosting a World Cup would be hugely embarrassing to Al Thani family and more importantly Qatar!

So how do you think they will become the front runners again seeing as everything recently now suggests it's Ratcliffe

Not this old chestnut again. If they really cared that much about not getting embarrassed, they wouldn't have let this thing get to round 3 against a geriatric and rely on weak PR with the Mail. It's already embarrassing. Glazers gave a number that they refused to match.

By the way anyone who still fancies SJR and INEOS are in for many, many more days like today.
What on earth is this based on? Can we get age verification for over 30’s please?

You simply DO NOT KNOW how SJR would run the club and if you even turned out to be right, it would be because you guessed and not because you KNOW.

Get a grip.

Becareful of what you wish for.

Qatar commands massive following among United fans compared to Ratchcliffe.

And Ratchcliffe winning the bid may also cause massive backlash and fan protest.
Not all fans are 18 year old kids who want to sell our soul to become a state run club. People desperate for Qatar to win clearly do not understand what has made this club great in the eyes of so many, including opposition fans. It’s delusional. We will become city on steroids whilst conveniently forgetting everything we’ve slated them
for since becoming state owned.

they’re just taking a season to work out how best to fidge the numbers

Could you be a little more condescending? Or might just say any other opinion apart from the one you have is due to posters being "18 year old kids".

I completely disagree. Whoever buys the club we won’t see more than 3/4 players in.
Nor should we - we don’t need to be unsettling the squad the way Chelsea have. Building gradually is the best way.
Maybe a few more outs, if we can find buyers. It’s not going to be easy.
Correct. Adding to the squad with careful analysis is the way to go..have we learnt nothing from Chelsea's shit show? We needn't spend a shit ton to improve the squad.

The way they played last night l would offer the Glazers a packet of Jelly Babies and a bar of Hershey's, then tell them to feck off ASAP.
If they didn't accept I'd take the Hershey's off the table.

"Why is everyone so f***ing stupid? Why can't more people be smart and intelligent like me?"

I never get sick of reading this same post in different forms, over and over and over again.

That is true. We can, however, speculate based on how he has run Nice and that doesnt paint a pretty future for us.

As opposed to being like psg

That’s all well and good but can we say it’s better than being like Nice? A mid table French club currently sliding between 9th and 11th

People slagging off Qatar because of PSG when SJR’s club are a mid table mess you have to laugh

They were finishing 3-4th before Ineos took over and have been mid table since.

Pathetic assertion . This is 21st century.
Man Utd isn't famous because of it's "local champion" status but rather due to it's global appeal. It's a global brands that inculcates diverse groups of people, traditions, etc.

It is very unreasonable to think anybody who disagrees with your posture is 18 year old. Some of those who support the Qatari bid may be much older than you.

May be you need to support a local community club then? FC Salford??
