Club Sale | It’s done!

Sounds like Jassim isn't being taken seriously by Raine Group or the Glazers.

That happened a long time ago when they decided to purchase the club with a loan stacked with interest.

They will sell but anyone hoping that this will be done anytime soon are in for disappointment. I think we'll hear about a full sale by around June which will obviously hinder our transfer market but it is what it is at this point. I would take a 5th place finish, losing the cup final and signing no-one in the summer if it means the Glazers sell to a party who want the club to be successful on the pitch.

In recent times, we've "won the transer window" and qualified for the Champions League on a few occassions only for it all to turn to shit very quickly. The club needs a structure, a plan and football people running the show now. We've waited long enough, a few more weeks or months won't hurt.

As for rumours or concrete news: no-one knows anything. A few knobheads on Discord/Reddit/4Chan/Twitter and Sky Kaveh Long Pause don't know jack shit and at this point, are just attention seeking or trying to keep themeslves relevent as a source for breaking news. These very same 'sources' such as the Muppetiers, Mark Goldbollocks, IndyKaila and that awful bloke who presents the Football Terrace, will soon turn their attention to BS transfer stories which they've plucked out of their arses.

Feck taking 5th that would be catastrophic

No, but they’re allowed to express their opinion on it like anyone else. I saw some comments on Twitter last night, under a photo of that banner, saying not to worry about United’s match going fans as they’re all 50 year old alcoholics. It’s not a big surprise when there‘s resentment from match going fans about online fans.
Didn’t say otherwise did I.

The way it’s been weaponised in here, people are sort of suggesting that match going fans opinions are superior. Which is clearly bollocks.

Unless part of the Glazer family sticks around, I don't see how they're incentivized to get this done quickly. Drag it on and squeeze every penny out of the new owners. Who cares if the club can't do transfers next season and doesn't get top four?

Only if you’re a drama merchant. We have finished second plenty of times in recent times and it didn’t mean shit.

We need owners who get in an actual Sporting Director who can do a ‘Man City’ and bring in proper players, not FIFA signings like Sancho and Pogba.

We need new owners, everything else doesn’t matter right now.

Don't mind second as we get Champions League but can't accept another season of Europa

You’re missing my point completely. We need to stop thinking short term.

It’s all moot anyway because top 4 is done. We will get 3 more wins and Liverpool won’t win every match.

Superior or not, their opinion is vastly more important. That's just a fact of most clubs as they bring in more money than others.

That upsets those who choose to support a foreign based club and like to pretend they're no 1 fans though.

Jassim bothers me because in that stock photo he reminds me of incredibly unfunny and punchable faced comedy actor Marc Wootton, he of the Nativity movies

Like feck it is.

I think it's Qatar. I can't see any other outcome.
I agree.

There’s too many stories which were reported a few months back saying they will do whatever it takes to get Utd but in public, won’t be seen as being “taken for a ride.”

It’s just a matter of time really. Qatar will offer Glazers a bucket of cash plus caveats like business ventures in the future.

For Qatar, image is everything. They won’t want to be seen as “losing” in this race. They will do what they have to, to get it over the line.

I don’t buy the rumour that the Glazers are desperate to keep some type of control. I think they want out now and that they want their pound of flesh along the way.

If the Qataris are so keen, why don't they just pay the 6bn? It's not much more for them, something seems strange.

Like feck it is.
He makes a good point though. Dave from Salford who goes to the game every week is more audible and more likely to protest at the game. You will see him and his sort on the news, with their banners and pint of Worthies.

RonaldoSZN07 on Twitter who’s never been to England before let alone a Utd game, isn’t going to make a difference.

Yeah, they're just too invested to walkaway empty handed. Bizarrely enough there's only two real bidders. That has surprised me.

There's a pretty sizeable difference between 5b and 6b actually. It's 1 billion more! Some posters on this thread seem to think this is football manager not real life.

It's business and they dont want to appear to be overpaying, it'll will hamper all their future business dealings. Sorry, I mean Jassim's.

You would think the offer would have come up over dinner in Doha, but Jassim is still waiting to hear.

And we believe the British media or worse a ‘You tube’ Post, no news is normally good news I’m going out on a limb here, knowing that Ramadan has recently only just finished and how much Qatar hates to lose, and how vocal they’ve been recently that there may be some truth in rumours that has been recent dialog between them and the Raine Group or Glazers direct.

There could be an announcement which is made by The Raine group in next 2-3 days. I think the Glazers have been playing one off against the other and there was huge confusion with Qatar 3rd bid, lots of rumours saying they bid between $7.3-7.5m and the British media was wrong saying they bid £4bn plus the debt, I’m not buying that ?

However that bid probably had loads of caveats and loopholes like - the bid is £5.05bn plus an instant agreement to settle the club debt at £635m plus a further £165m for a quick agreement so £5.2bn if a full sale agreed in May and Raine can report the sale as £5.85bn which is incidentally about $7.4bn however, the Glazers would receive 69% of £5.2bn which is $6.6bn or $4.5bn between the 6 of them plus a load of additional promises for their NFL team in Qatar.

You get the impression that the Glazers who have been cosying up to Qatar since Xmas in the hope of getting what they wanted, wouldn’t just discard their bid without talking to them first.

Funny thing is, all this could happen, United fans who moaned about City think Qatar are our salvation and within 2 months SJ sacks ETH because we just make the top 4 or we don’t get CL football and lose heavily to city in Fa Cup Final.

We don’t know that they haven’t offered this - maybe they’re all going through the finer details behind the scenes?

Just because we’re not drip fed every single detail, every time something happens, doesn’t mean that moves aren’t happening right now.

They're doing what they do every summer. Drag things out, kill any fun in it and ruin any chance of getting proper preparations in place.

Can't wait until they're gone

Sets a precedent of needlessly overpaying

According to Forbes, they spent 220bn in 10 years in the build-up to the World Cup. I can't see an extra 1bn at most being that big an issue.

Probably. I think Ineos will have calculated a maximum where their chances of making a profit still outweigh their chances of not doing, or losing. I don't think Qatar has a maximum, they only want to make sure they don't overpay, and once Ineos declare the going rate then Qatar will do just enough to beat it.

I know many here believe Ineos aren't in it for profit, but the majority of premier league owners are, with Brighton and Brentford conspicuous exceptions. And the oil clubs of course.

It doesn't mean they spent all that money recklessly. Why would they "just pay whatever the Glazers ask" if they don't have to? They probably believe their offer is enough, time will tell.

Like feck it is.

So which countries fans on an individual fan basis create more income for premier league clubs? Discounting rich wanna be owners.

Economically and culturally domestic especially match going fans are the most important. I'd imagine thats reflected in every sport and country.

It doesn't mean foreign based fans aren't valued but its not an equal ranking and it would be massively arrogant for anyone to assume it was. So yeah those fans are more important than someone who streams every game from afar.

Probably because they know they have to pay at least another £3bn now they’ve seen the books. Their Bid is probably £5bn plus they will spend £650m debt, £350m transfers, they will pay upfront and £2bn for stadium and training grounds upgrades that’s why, even Qatar has a budget !

They have no choice but to do it public because it is a publicly-listed company. If they were going to spend more than they are, they would have already bid that amount already. They just don't want to pay more.
