Sorry I think you’re mistaken, people weren’t moaning that we played a double pivot as opposed to a single pivot, they were arguing that the players picked weren’t suitable. Both McTominay and Fred are better players playing more forward. They aren’t suitable as DM or even deeper CM

Some did, and some did also bemoan playing a double pivot in the first place.

Maybe INEOS should just copy the transfer strategy of last 7/8 years and just spend 200 million on a load of 30 somethings that we get a maximum of one good season from before their bodies/minds fall apart.

That would keep this place happy for another 6 months until people call for a rethink in the strategy and then complain again in 12 months that the players we're signing aren't high profile enough.

Control + C. Copy. Control V. Paste. Very good, Sir Jim. Now, about the new ground, and the transfer strategy this window, and Ashworth thing and ETH new contract… control x, Jim.

So far SJR talk a good game but nothing seems to be different from Glazers. In fact the manager situation is a real mess. It's embarrassing for one of the biggest club in the world. It's adult Disneyland again. What a circus.

You don't take more than 2 weeks to review , then let the entire world knows you are interviewing several candidates and then revert back to the current manager. This is so amateur.

We used to have a banker running the club and now we have chemical engineer/businessman running the club. Hope Berrada and Ashworth starts soon and they know how to run a football club. Don't let SJR anywhere near especially interviewing manager candidate in Monaco, what he know about football to interview Tuchel?

At the time there was both going on. It was one of the things that prompted the PE teacher jibes. People also abhorred McFred together.
Totally agree with the bolded sentence though.

Berrada starts mid July and is almost certainly already working for the club in an unofficial capacity. Hence why his email was within the ones that Ashworth sent to his Newcastle email stupidly.

Wilcox and others were also in Monaco, not just SJR.

Pretty sure SJR has said he knows his limitations and that's why he'll not be involved with decision making on the footballing side, instead it will be left to those within the structure once it's in place.

Reminds me of my cancer surgery. The day after my op the surgeon walks in and says it all went well. I said my face is so swollen, he replied, (laughing) "ooh its going to get a whole lot worse before it starts to get better..."

That's how I see United at the moment. We're going through surgery and until its all finalised and finished, we won't see any benefits from it just yet. Just have to be patient.

2 Weeks to conduct a review which has implications on a Manager that has been in the job for 2 years doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Did you see any direct quotes from anyone that works for the club saying they were interviewing other candidates? The conversations were leaked, and then speculated on endlessly by the media. The amateur thing to do would be to enter a review which you know could result in a manager being let go and not have a clue who you are going to get to replace them.

Well, I’m patient too, a mental patient at that. When I try to understand million Euro businesses based on SoMe-handles (there are thousands of them!), I get confused, and when I get confused I tend to become very wary, and very certain about particular things I might find threatening, or I mistake my confusion for others being confused. That’s why atm I am quite sure that the The whole of Ineos is crazy and quite definitely out to get me.

Do we reckon the club will start working on multiple deals at a time?

Or still stick to that because we're unsure of outgoings and therefore money available?

We all wanted INEOS how come we are not satisfied?

In honesty I never felt that the INEOS part ownership deal was right for the club from the day it was announced, the idea of a minority owner being alledgedly in charge of the Football side with the Glazers still pulling the strings at the top didnt appeal to me.

Its quite crazy that after spending 18 years chanting We Want Glazers Out the majority of the fanbase were happy for the Glazers to do a deal that keeps them in, especially when there was a deal on the table that would have seen them leave.

For an oil state and the chance to whitewash a country's reputation.

It wasnt a any point a state bid, the person behind the Qatari bid was Shiekh Jassim who was the head of the 92 foundation which was the company that was going to buy the club and had nothing to do with the Qatari royals.

Do you want to buy a bridge?

Just like newcastle's owners have nothing to do with the royal family?

As for Jim I’m prepared to play the waiting game, rome wasn’t built in a day.

however I wish he’d stop acting like a Tory

You’re missing his point, he’s saying that your opinion that the state wouldn’t be involved is somewhat naive. Can’t say that I disagree with him either

Well as far as im aware Shiekh Jassim is the son of a former Qatar Prime Minister and only a very distant relative of Qatar's ruling familly so there is absolutely zero evidence to say the Qatari ruling familly would be in anyway involved.

Aside fro the fact the money has to be coming from somewhere

Thats no evidence of anything, he is a business man that used to run one of Qatar's biggest banks and now runs the 92 foundation.

His father is also extremely wealthy.

Claiming he is getting his money from the Qatari ruling familly withoit evidence to back that claim up is like claiming Sir Jim is getting his money from King Charles III.

Some people have morals and didn't want a state buying the club. It's that simple.

It's mad how people look at city with all those charges and think "I want a bit of that."

Absolutely correct and the way the whole thing played out makes it even more obvious that it was never a state bid as far as I am concerned, not that it matters much at this point.

Despite donating to the Tories for many years, he's quickly jumping from the sinking ship and getting into bed with the other side

I mean there was a deal offered but they rejected so it went from the table to the bin

Exactly, there is absolutely no evidence that it was a state bid and the fact it didnt go through proves that.

We had a chance to finally get rid of the Glazers after 18 years of protests and the fans just stood back and did nothing while they did a deal that kept them in and pulling the strings.

Yeah i watched that earlier today, among others. Doesn’t strike me as a very nice person.

I don't think you ever rack up that kind of money without being a cnut.
It's why I was sceptic when I heard he took the meeting with Tuchel. The ladder never had much patience for these kinds of people.
