Fair play to him. Certainly seems to have his head screwed on when it comes to redevelopment opportunities

He's a champagne socialist, Geebs. Proper politician. Gill said he was the most difficult player to deal with during his time at OT. The man doesn't shut up.

He is an old school dinosaur who still believes we are in 1998. Btw that counts for most players who played under SAF

What are you talking about? He already has experience in developing properties/businesses. It doesn’t mention anything about him being involved in footballing matters.

Most United players under Fergie haven't gone into property development in the exact area we want to build in.

so by the end of the year Sir Jim is going to up his ownership total to 30% with a further 300m investment into the club

can see a full take over coming by 2025/26

I hope the new structure are thinking about alternative managerial appointments. This isn't to say ETH should be sacked now or even that he is nailed on to be sacked by the end of the but we need to be proactive as the managerial market may be competitive in the summer. Bayern, Barca and Liverpool are looking for a new head coach and the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea could also be in the market.

We know that the Barca and Liverpool coaches are leaving so it’s not exactly a proactive step

I disagree. People might find him unlikable because he never shuts up, but a twat? Nah. Always struck me as an alright fella

He says what he thinks. Though not as brutally honest as Keane.
And of course we would not agree with everything either of them says.

I hope both of them will be on the Football board. But difficult to see that as Fergie may be on it too.

SJR is not a patient man.

Buzzing.

I have a feeling we will install this world class management structure and then it’ll be relative austerity with the playing staff for the foreseeable until we get the debt under control. It’s nearly a billion now and we haven’t even touched the facilities. Possibly bringing in one or two Rasmus type players (youngsters with world class potential) a season until we get a handle on the debt and fully streamline scouting and data and cut out repeatedly making expensive mistakes. I think this summer we will sell surplus assets from the squad for rock bottom prices, rip it up and start again next year using free transfers, youth and possibly some crafty loans. I think we will also start seeing more aggressive loans within the multi cub system to raise value and interest in our youth prospects. We won’t hold onto every young player until it’s totally clear they aren’t going to make it here. That’s a major money spinner for big clubs around us and should be for us too. We could have sold Lingard McT Henderson Williams and so on for good money if we had any half decent handle on the market

it's a sign of how bad things were before, that coming into the club and doing some competent news management is seen as massive progress by the fans. They have made some seemingly competent management decisions too but it's a long journey from basic management competency to an effective organisation challenging for industry awards.

I hope they are successful but I have a concern that the existing debt burden, combined with the Glazers wanting further dividends will mean we get piecemeal changes and news management rather than definitive and measurable progress. Hopefully its the beginning of the end of the glazer era, rather than prolonging their pisspoor tenure.

I mentioned last year, that INEOS didnt think Jassim existed and they found it amusing they were involved. Good to hear it from the horses mouth.

I tend to agree with this philosophy with the added caveat that this summer really is the best and only chance to spend £300m in one window mainly due to the FSP reducing from 80% to 70% next year.

I agree that the club will brief the media that we have very little money to spend unless we sell certain players. This gives Sir Jim and his team more room to negotiate. With the takeover now agreed that immediately means that an investment of £237m literally affects the £115 allowed 3 year loss, this substantially improving our FFP situation from day one as it’s the first investment of any note in two decades.

The real issue this summer won’t be we can’t or are not allowed to spend £250-350m this summer but the club doesn’t actually have any cash reserves left and hardly any credit left on the credit card, rumoured to be £40m. After recent cutbacks in wages and new structured changes, the wage to Revenue ratio looking at reports is set to reduce to 51%

Wages are now less than City, Chelsea and Liverpool £331m against Revenue £648m.
FSP states we can spend 80% of £648m that means the FSP threshold for United this summer is approx £518m which is allowed in wages, Agent Fees, Amortised Transfer Fees and New Net amortised transfer from summer sales. What we do know is the club owe over £1billion with £700m being historic debt and £384m being amortised transfer debt owed to multiple clubs around the globe. The yearly payment which must be made is rumoured to be £90m+ so add that to the current wage bill of £331m and you have £420m plus you must factor Agent fees of £20-30m for the summers transfers and outstanding fees that’s £450m which means we could effectively have safely £65m left for transfer and new wages, of course the club can amortise these fees by 5 years. That’s £325m on new players and wages. So let’s say 4 new players all at 50m on 5 year contracts is £200m on transfer but all these players are also on £8m per year contracts that’s another £40m in wages per player so another £160m meaning that the club would fail an FSP test unless they freed up wages from their existing squad.

Now if the club are run correctly this summer which I believe they will be they will first concentrate on outgoings with obvious ones done first like;

High Earners Wage Savings
Anthony Martial - No Fee 200k per week
Raphael Varanne - No Fee 340k per week
Casemiro - £40m 300k per week
Total. £40m. 840k wages

Academy Players sold for 100% Profit
Mason Greenwood £35m 75k per week
Alvero Fernandez £7m. 10k per week
Shola Shoretire £8m. 10k per week
Hanibal. £15m. 25k per week
Brandon Williams £10m 60k per week
Total £75m. 180k per week

Antony 20m. 200k per week
Jadon Sancho 30m 250k per week
DVB. 10m. 120k per week
T Malacia 10m. 80k per week
Amrabat. Returned. 80k per week
F Pellistri. 15m. 25k per week
V Lindelof 15m. 120k per week

Total. £100m. 875k per week

Overall Target £215m Sales. £1.89m wages or savings of nearly £90m per year
Now these may be the targets with a a few more added or removed like Maguire like Mctominay, Maybe even Rashford or Bruno. This is what Sir David Brailsford is doing with his review, most clubs would be going crazy at this but we are so broken it’s needs to be completely stripped back and built from the ground up.

Now in reality we might only succeed with 75% of the players we need to move on, if that’s the case then 12 players will be moved on, the club will raise about £150m towards the transfer kitty with cash and other methods and reduce the wage bill by about £1.4m per week.

If Dan Asworth, Brailsford and Omar Berada act smart this summer that would allow the club to bring in 7 or 8 players yes this many and spend potentially £300m on players transfer fees plus wages which old be paid for by the huge reduction in our wage bill by removing so many players and in particular high earners.

You might also see very smart short term deals like Brailsford who hugged Barkley getting him to sign a 2+1 deal no transfer fee and 100k per week. We all witness Barkley re emergence last weekend where he ran the show against Casemiro !
