Club Ownership | INEOS responsible for the football side

Let's see if they will let their words follow actions. The manager position has absolute priority right now.

They need to get the best in class manager in soon. There is no way ETH is the one. This is PL and not Eredivisie

They should have made the decision already, the reluctance is only viable if it's a financial issue Erik's position has been untenable since the new year. I said it 6 games into the season that this team is heading for failure, blame injury if you must but as Carragher surmised this is the worst coached team in the league.

On the one hand, it makes perfect sense to wait until the structure around the manager is in place before making decisions with regards to the manager's future.

On the other hand, sitting around waiting for "the guys" while everything is burning is a perfect way to show loyalty to the continuation of the Glazer reign.

"Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss."

Yeah you're right, it's totally fine, don't know what the big deal is. Palace are a massive club.

It’s not about Palace, it’s about you claiming that INEOS have shit the bed because they haven’t sacked Ten Hag yet, which is a sensationalist take.

What would that achieve exactly? The season is nearly done, with a cup final to play. It makes sense to let Ten Hag oversee the disaster that he is primarily responsible for and then get rid of him once we inevitably lose to City.

Punting a trophy won't sit well with some people on here.

What would Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Juventus etc do if they had a manager putting out the current results and performances we have? Moyes won West Ham's first ever European trophy last season, West Ham have just confirmed he's gone at the end of the season. Yet here we are, massive club, just accepting the total evisceration of standards because we've got to give everyone the chance to finish their gardening leave, get to the office and have a conversation first.

I personally think its very premature to start turning on INEOS. They've inherited an absolute shitshow and have a monumental amount to do all at once in order to get their ducks in a row, and that's excluding the manager fiasco.

Sticking the foot in because they haven't sacked Ten Hag as of today seems extreme.

Idiotic and sensationalist rhetoric as usual from the caf.

Exactly this.

Half the people on here must spend their lives feeling very dizzy considering how much they flit from scapegoat to scapegoat.

At least there is one more scapegoat to take aim at now and at least we can’t hurt a company’s feelings

A lot of our fans are in copium mode with "structure" and ownership.
Inter changes ownerships every few weeks and they win titles regulary and played CL final last year while we wont even qualify for EL.
And you dont need fecking 10 chefs to cook a egg. EtH is fecking disaster and if he stays beyond today, Ineos is here for the money. Or in other news, rich man wants to get richer.

This.

I love all the love in for their hero BREXIT Jim. He’s another money grabber parasite.

A fan rang into Talksport and said it is the players who should go first as they need to learn that they basically do not rule the roost as they have been allowed to do. I understand people wanting a new manager, but if the same players are here and strict player behaviour rules are not set we are just going down the same road. They need to sell the ones who are not tough enough for United, the ones who think they are bigger than the manager and the ones who are just not good enough.

The players tried yesterday, they're just really shite.

I noticed they were very unsure when they were on the ball. It's all unbalanced and the morale isn't there at all. Leaking that they're all up for sale didn't help matters either - I can imagine AWB/Dalot/Casemiro just being rattled by knowing they're very dispensable.

Ah, trying to pin the blame om club leaks and nothing about the manager. Guess his inspiring post-match interview will do wonders for the players' morale now.

I know you want to stick the manager on a pitchfork at every single opportunity, which is fine, but I'm not going to randomly put every single blame on Ten Hag just for shits and giggles. He's been shite this season, he'll probably get sacked. That's my point on the manager front.
At the same time there were some horrendous errors by the named players that had nothing to do with system or tactics, and everything to do with their heads being down. Knowing they're all in the shop window doesnt help.

How a multibillions organisation can be so badly run and neglected for more than a decade? Luckily we are too big to fail.

In fact the Glazers are still making record profits. Hope, SJR is finally the real saviour of the club and make a real reform to modernize the club.

No, you rather pin the blame on everything else bar him. He is in charge of both tactics and man management, which both affects morale. Leaving players exposed, without backups/movement around is way more impactful over a season than knowing that underperformance leads to potentially being sold.

I said he's done a feck ton wrong and will probably get sacked for it. Read posts better.

Players weren't exposed for the goals we conceded yesterday, it was just really dumb defending. Players should take accountability for that too.

Both of the above paragraphs are true.

Bring Dougie Freedman in!

Newcastle will get an upgrade with Dougie Freedman.

Think you could be right. He is said to be a recruitment specialist (where this is not Ashworths specialty) and he built that Palace team for reasonable fees and they have probably 6-7 players who would go into Utds starting 11 (front 3, Anderson, Guehi, even Doucoure, Wharton and Hughes would improve Utd at the moment). Seems like Utd are trusting in Wilcox to do the job that Freedman is doing, but I don’t think Wilcox has this track record…unless the club do hire a new head of recruitment as was previously rumoured (but has since gone quiet).

I'd love a good old United gazump.

I mean they’ve not even been here more than a few months and they’re trying to hire high level executives to change the course of the club. Are you both 5? Have a modicum of patience.

Man Utd want him as head of recruitment. Fergie had actually recommended him for the role before Mourtogh.

exactly, it terrifies me that we could get an interim, the players could up their game until the end of the season, and they then earn yet ANOTHER chance with a new manager.. no thanks, get rid of the lot and start again

I hope that’s true, just seems a while since I’ve heard him linked with Utd. You’d wonder if the narrower job description would be an issue given he’s DoF at Palace (similar to Wilcox though I suppose). It’s Utd though and that still holds an appeal that others can’t buy even with the recent shambles

What would we achieve by letting him stay? Name one good thing for which he's worth keeping?

We will have an instant morale boost the moment he's sacked atleast

Are you for real? You think that because INEOS haven’t sacked Ten Hag then they must be here for the money? This is an absolutely insane take, typical of the kind of Tik-Tok brain lunacy that infests this place.

The season is nearly over, it’s clear they will wait until the summer before making their decision. Anyone worthy of the job won’t be available until then anyway, so the idea that they are going to get some interim manager in for a couple of games just to boost morale is for the birds.

These next 4 games are no reason to bring in a interim manager. Much better to have INEOS carefully evaluate their options and get it right, hopefully!, in mid-June than to bring on the chaos of an interim manager for matches that make no difference in anyway whatsoever to our preparations for next season.

Whether we trust INEOS to get it right is another matter, but what choice do we have but to trust that they will?
