Although, coverage by the Athletic made a good point that the scope of INEOS goes beyond football operations, but also finance, commercial and operations if they were going to have any impact on the football.
 
Hope the new CFO isn't a Bell end. The outgoing one, Master Baty, seems like a bit of a wanker.
 
They clean up heavily upstairs. Cant wait once they do the same with the players and coaches

It’s encouraging that Blanc will be interim CEO as that should help keep things moving until Berrada can start. Interesting as well that the new CFO is a former INEOS employee.

The Glazers sure are handing an extraordinary level of control over to SJR for owners who intended to stick around.
 
INEOS are the most powerful part owners in football. It’s almost like there’s some kind of agreement in place to say the club will be essentially wholly owned by them in time :angel:

Sounds like it's because the interim guys were resistant to some of the changes INEOS were making according to Crafton's latest article and putting 2+2 together.

Stewart left because Ratcliffe wanted to end work from home. Stewart was rightly against it and had to leave. The whole back to the office is just a ploy to get workers to leave (without paying compensation) before they start the layoff process.

This is decision stinks.

Unbelievable how many top management people we need to kick out from the club. No wonder we have over a decade of failure. Glazers really neglected the club for so long with Ed, Arnold and Murtough.

Next we need to appoint a new manager and start our open heart surgery.

There are loads of industries more suited to work from home if that’s what people want. United is a football club and all of these jobs exist to support a team of players and coaches who can’t work from home.

The club doesn’t exist to support a horde of admin staff who don’t fancy coming back to the office anymore. If we can streamline the background staff and make the entire operation more efficient and cost effective, that will benefit the football team.

Will be interesting to see if this cold, corporate culture that INEOS are trying to implement will pay dividends.

United had a 'one big happy family' culture under SAF and even post-SAF, so will be interesting to see how this culture shift turns out.
 
I wonder how many workers from home were London based vs Manchester based. I suspect the lions share were of the London offices.

I wouldn’t be that surprised if it comes out in the wash that Woodward and his boys from the bank club have been pissing money down the drain with an unnecessary London vanity project for years, and Ratcliffe is gearing towards the return of a one base operation out of Manchester in the medium to long term.
 
Its nice that we are starting to clear the decks, there is no excuse for how badly this club has been ran over the last decade plus and the fact so many of these people kept jobs for so long is staggering. The day Murtough left the club for me was as happy as any signing we have made in the last decade.
 
I heard in the overlap that Neville was asked by Ashworth to take the England manager job after Hodgson left. I am glad we have a technical director, I feel that Ashworth is good at operations but less so on footballing intelligence.
 
Any other reports about the meeting today other than the Ashworth appointment and the staff coming back to work in the office?

Were they working from home in the SAF days? I'm almost certain they weren't. Jim is doing what's necessary and hopefully there is alignment now in the sense that all efforts and resources are dedicated to WINNING.

Not quite. He said that Valencia was a good step for Gary to be fed into the England job. He wasn’t asked to take it, but told that if he did well he’d likely be groomed to take over.

Absolutely redundant reasoning when most of these jobs will invariably be low paid (relatively) office jobs who will never see, hear or come in contact with anyone who has any impact on how the team plays on the field. The fact the players don't work from home is totally unrelated to whether admin staff should.

You can streamline the admin staff by offering voluntary redundancy packages or even forced redundancy with appropriate compensation, rather than make working conditions worse until you force the desired amount of people to leave. One is reasonable, the other is underhand and scummy.
 
The parasites are playing a blinder here. Let Ineos build the club back up to something like the Fergie years and watch the dosh roll in.

You've missed the point there. I was more referring to how accommodating the club was from top to bottom and treating everyone at the club like a family.

Who knows maybe this is the sort of kick up the ass the club needs to get going again, though.

To be fair, they should have done this a decade back instead of using Woody as a proxy. It would have been a win-win for everyone.

Agreed, it's a bullshit move. Made even dumber by the fact that there is apparently no longer enough office space for everyone as it was adapted for remote working, so that has to now be undone. At least that can be paid for by those coach fares!

Agreed. Shows how poor businessmen they are they couldnt see this. Success on the pitch makes you better off it. They wouldnt have been in this mess now.
Everyone said their Dad Malcolm was the brains. Imagine if he had lived another decade, we might have been a lot better off as well, with this.

If people go and read about the history of INEOS with trade unions, workers rights etc then they are going to be in for a shock regarding 'underhand and scummy' business practices

Reports suggest that INEOS are looking to get rid of around 300 staff at United - the vast majority are likely the low paid office jobs

Hardly a surprise though - rare for someone to become a billionaire without shafting various people along the way

For anyone with half a brain cell, Ratcliffe being a pro-Brexit supporter should be enough to tell you what kind of 'businessman' he is.

And the people defending this dick move would at the same time post how we're a different club, etc, etc.

All of these cuts are basically imposed because the scum that has owned the club for the past 20 years have drained it for themselves and managed it poorly.

Malcolm was the business rottweiler, im certain he would have got a grip of Woodward burning all of the club's money. The kids dont seem to care as long as they get paid
