I actually don't have anything against if they win 4 in row. If they are good, they are good. Right now, I feel indifferent about their titles after all those charges. Before they were brought up I could say, well done. They had a plan and did great work getting their team to the top. But now? It just took away all that and until some verdict it is going to be indifference if they win.

For me, question is what happens when everything get decided? Football is going to lose whatever verdict is.

Fascinating, how these sort of meetings get the dates set 5-6 months ahead and I always think it's got nothing to do with bringing all evidence together, as they've had years prior for that, which seemed like hell of a time already.

Probably Celtic Manor was all booked out and they're all to posh for Travelodge.
 
What's to stop the PL clubs holding a vote in say June and they elect to kick them out of the PL with all this stuff hanging out there, lack of cooperation, and delay tactics?

Sure, City would challenge such but do the bylaws allow for such a vote if the clubs elected to do so?

This is really taking away my enjoyment of football in general. Something serious needs to be done. So many great moments and fantastic, deserving campaigns and achievements lost.

I hope you are right but I'm not optimistic at all. I expect they will get a fine that will be large but nominal to them and soon after they announce the luxury tax and the removing of financial restrictions.

We still all have the hope.
The smart money is probably they manage to swerve the vast majority of the offences based on not being helpful to the investigation, and get some sort of massive fine and possibly 2-3 window transfer ban.
Which like the last time they got the latter, get it swiftly reduced.

It's very difficult to see really hard punishments like relegation(s) as we've simply not seen it before.

Sorry, who are these people that are not taking the league seriously? Clubs? Players and coaches? Sponsors? TV media? Fans of Liverpool, Arsenal and United?

For the guys that say "their titles don't mean anything or is hollow or nobody cares". Do you guys think that professional footballers, coaches feel the same way.
Trent did say that their titles mean more to them than City's and mentioned finances as possibly why. But I don't really get that feeling from other footballers and coaches who always heap praises on them.

City have won the best club of the year two years running presented by UEFA, a body that charged you for irregularities still recognised you as the best in world knowing fully well the cheating is what got them there.

I don't know but given how much it is repeated on the internet. Do you guys even believe it when you say it or it's copium

I know lot of people around that have lost interest because of that and VAR. Also how football has developed. I guess there are others to. It isn’t something strange.

Players and managers are never going to not take football serious. At least shouldn’t. For them titles should mean everthing.

I don’t think anyone can say they are bad team. I’m saying that as long as this thing hangs over their head there will always be questions. And lot of people would be indifferent to them winning before we know everything. If we ever get that transparency.

Once they've been prosecuted I expect we'll go a flurry of stories from media people about how they've been threatened with legal action had they spoken out. It's been said by a few that 115s lawyers are very active in shutting things down and until they've been proven to be guilty I can understand, to some extent, why they'd not want to get themselves caught up in it.

Similar for the broadcasters. Unless you're certain of the outcome, its easier to just pretend everything is fine.

I don't think it's close to a conclusion. He just vaguely said a hearing will be sometime in the near future. It will still take some time after the hearing to render a judgment. I'm not sure what exactly people want the media to be covering. There's been no material information about this situation released for like a year and this vague update about a hearing in the "near future" is already all over the news.

That’s never stopped media before. Christ they go on and on about transfers and deal progression months in advance.

i just think it’s kind of a big deal so we’d expect more journos to at least cover it. More so after a vague update when often stories are just fabricated.

I’d agree with an earlier poster who suggested lawyers are shutting stories down. That can be the only explanation

With transfers there will be leaks and protracted negotiations and posturing through the press (aka "developments") from agents and clubs. Exactly what other developments should they be covering here? There are already articles everywhere about this little crumble of information.

Only way is a transfer and salary cap which I don't think any of the old g14 clubs would ever be in favour of, the Champions League expansion has distorted every major League in Europe, it's all fecking shit and there is no way of bolting that door now, no matter how many charges city are guilty of (which will be most) there is no way of leveling the playing field and that started with the G14's greed, as soon as money becomes involved in sporting events you can guarantee people will look to exploit that, we're basically Frankenstein's monster created by the g14 clubs greed who wanted a close shop

I agree, you don't bring all these charges without the intention of following it through, and the way they've treated Everton and Forest must be sending some sort of message of what it coming.

As a minimum I'd like to see relegation to league 2, then starting the next 5 seasons on -20 points, and a big fine that counts towards FFP.

Or ideally all their trophies taken away for the set period, relegation, and a 20 point deduction for the next 5 seasons.

The extrapolation for City, which is often missed in counterpoints is that: no matter what the rules are, they have and will actively break them, so it doesn’t matter what implementation there is; it’s going to be circumvented anyway.

If a club doesn’t agree with the rules in place, they are free to not enter the competition under said rules.

They might need the FA cup to be in Europe, in the championship... Could also mean 2nd is enough this year and 3rd bottom.

I would imagine the record would remain untouched as Juve’s are. I would love a song from every terrace to remind them in perpetuity they are cheats, akin to the “dirty Leeds’” everyone knows, old or young.

I don't think it's overstating it to say it's about the last chance for football to salvage some credibility. Need to be absolutely hammered, will get a slap on the wrist

It feels like for a long while no-one seemed to care as it was pretty much United getting upset by City's emergence.
I was always surprised Arsenal didn't care more when they kept cherry picking their players.

But now, other teams seem to get what's gone on. Took them long enough.
