Christiano Ronaldo - NO current rumors

Oh, I feel like we've watched this film a thousand times already. I don't really give a feck about Ronaldo anymore, nor will he be of any use to us.

Ronaldo asking Real for a pay rise and news of a possible move to United are now one of the most recognisable duos in football, right there with Higuain - Food, Icardi - Drama and Liverpool - No league titles.

Yesterday Cadena Ser said that Florentino was obsessed with Neymar and wanted to include Cristiano in a transfer.
Be included as a bargaining chip must be quite humiliating for him,so the day after Mendes is using the same media(Ser and As are closely related) to sell his client, which is understandable.
The renewal that he demands was promised by the club and is a "gift" for the 12th C.L.
I can understand that he is unhappy, winning the ballon d'or,being a beast in Champions but seeing how Messi gets what he wants(with a nice bonus for the money that he has to pay for the Treasury fine).
In that sense I think the club should be fair and pay him.
He might renew and still leave the club.
The % is small but if we sign Neymar he won't refuse to leave simply because of a new fat contract,is too proud to do that.
I think there is no club willing to pay what he wants, however the PSG option seems more realistic.
I think his renewal and perhaps his future depends on the tie against PSG.

He's already moved back here each of the last 7 summers. He goes missing literally every game.

I love Ronaldo, but I can't help finding this whole "If you don't give me what I want, I will go back to Man Utd" thing, feels disrespectful to us to think we are just sat staring out the window waiting for Cristiano to come back, times have changed, I wouldn't want him now, the circus needs to end, and quickly.

Harry Kane is scoring goals like there's no tomorrow in this league. Imagine how good Ronaldo would be as a centre forward.

Harry Kane is really fecking good.

Some of my happiest memories in football are of Ronaldo playing for us in that 3/4 year spell where he was the best player in the world but it’s got to a stupid point now where he sulks when things aren’t going for him so uses us to get what he wants from Real like a brattish and petulant child.

We came out last time and said we’re not interested in him when he tried to use us so I hope we do the same again and Real tell him he’s under contract so will be staying on the same terms he’s on especially considering he’s been fecking awful this year, clearly on the wane as are Real and looking for a pay day but we don’t need him anymore.

Watch him sign a new contract soon. This happens every year like clockwork. Won’t happen and personally do not want at all

As is Ronaldo as a goalscorer, a tier above if I may say so. Put him in the current Spurs team and he'll smash loads.
Was. I am not sure if he would still be smashing loads. Madrid are creating plenty of chances despite not winning games. However, Ronaldo is neither creating them nor getting on the end of them.

Stop trolling
I'm not? Do you think Kane is a better goalscorer than Ronaldo?

Sure he's not getting any younger but he's got insane fitness and this is most likely a form issue and less an age one. This entire Madrid team looks lost, a fresh challenge can do wonders and there's definitely a last chapter left in him in my opinion.

I doubt United officials feel disrespected, Ronaldo and Manchester United on the same title generate a lot of interest and clicks and that means sponsors are willing to pay more for the club. It's all part of the game, I doubt we're pissed at Ronaldo anymore than we're pissed at 500 players linked with us every transfer window.

Why do you think Real Madrid are looking to sell Ronaldo for 100M and sign Kane somewhere north of 200M? Because they're stupid and want to lose 100M to get a worse player?. If his own team didn't consider Kane an improvement over present day Ronaldo they'd just milk every goal from Cris while profiting from his marketing value.

Err. That's considering the amount of top years Kane has left in him, I'm talking about their current ability. Bizarre argument.

Can actually see him coming now if we want him, given that his for has dropped off a cliff this season. I'd still have him as our striker over Lukaku for the next 3 years even if he is only at 50%.

Not bizarre, why would Real want to sign Kane now paying an extra for the amount of years Kane has left in him, when by your understanding Ronaldo is a better goalscorer right now?.

The logical thing would be keeping Ronaldo (who brings more sponsor deals than Kane to the team) as long as he's better or as good as Kane, and then sign Kane when Ronaldo is no longer valid, without having to pay extra because Kane has "a lot of years" ahead of him, maybe you can snatch him at a discount because of contractual issues.

Putting it in other perspective, Messi is 30 right now, I wouldn't sell Messi for 120M to sign Mbappe for 240 despite Mbappe having more than a decade ahead of him and Messi maybe 3 or 4 years at top level. You don't willingly sell a player to get another who's arguably worse at the same moment, it's a bad deal whatever way you look at it

He's the reason I started supporting United and football, despite that do not want. He's clearly on the decline. The sequels to movies are never as great as the original. He was sensational during his time here but time to move on.

A prime Ronaldo is better, but whether we'll see prime Ronaldo again it's another matter. He has 4 goals in the league this season, despite being first fiddle in their attack. And if you think that he'll find the EPL easier to score than La Liga, I think you'd be in for a massive surprise. Especially if he's playing in Mourinho's United where the striker is expected to do a lot of donkey work like bringing down long balls and other players into play. He's had Benzema do a lot of work for him at Real these last few years. He won't have that here.

Kane has been a considerably better goalscorer this season, but as to the overall point, fair enough.

Fitness aside(and he looks no worse than last spring imho), he's got quite a number of potential distractions going on atm. The trial for tax fraud, the contract situation, newborn kids at home, etc...

Maybe all he needs is a change of scenery, or maybe this is just a bad patch and he'll go back to score for fun soon

Either way, he's still about to turn 33 and his demands to be put on equal terms with Messi in wages look insane atm. Would only half make sense if he accepted a considerably shorter contract...

Think the tax case coming out right after Cardiff kind of screwed him up in that sense btw. We could not be made to look as if we were paying for his tax evasion at the time...

He doesn't hide the fact that he hates the weather and the rain in Manchester, why would he want to move back here?

Stay in sunny Spain, Ronnie

He shouldn't ruin his Premier League legacy, he left as the king of England/The world (as he won the Ballon d'Or here), he wouldn't stand out above the likes of Salah/KDB/Kane next season.

I'd go to America if i was him, no matter what he does there (good or bad) it won't ruin his legacy.

I don't understand this train of thought, if everyone in the club is talking about him being the best player in the world and trusted him with a long contract to secure at least a transfer fee in the future, I don't get how he demanding to be in the same wage bracket as the players his club say are inferior to him is insane.

You know that Madrid wouldn't agree to renegotiate the contract to put him on the same wages as Messi but shortening it to what, 2020? 2019 would basically mean he'd be free to negotiate another huge contract with other clubs by next January, and we all assume he's probably going to be worth +60M worth by that time so that's a net loss for Real, they're not going to pay him more now to let him walk in 16 months, and the difference between finishing contract in 2020 or 2021 wouldn't be a huge deal.

I can see how he could be fed up with the club, they're not putting their money where their mouth is.

It's your train of thought that's incomprehensible to me, not @giorno's. "Best player in world" is a transient thing, not a permanent one. A contract has a duration and even if Ronaldo is the best player in the world currently (very debatable) this contract would take him into an age where the probability of him still being that is very very small. You're talking as if players play on forever and their transfer value does not go to literally 0 by the time they get to mid 30s.

Imagine if he comes back. Next season Ronaldo playing for utd and a certain rooney for everton.

But I find only normal that he pushes for it when he has the traction, he signed the last one in an awful moment, his value right now (even at a decline) would be higher than his current wages.

I defend Messi when he skins us for a new contract as I think for what he offers to us and how we use him it's only logical, so I think the same way about Ronaldo, and if they don't reach an understanding I would understand him leaving, but no team seems able to satisfy both his contractual and competitive needs at the moment, so it makes even more sense for him to push his status as a Real Madrid legend in what could be his last top $ contract.

I never understood why Ronaldo demands wage parity with Messi. He's a few years older and so should be earning more in his prime and less when he is older (because Messi will be in his prime).

If Ronaldo wants the same wages as Messi now, then he must convince the club that he is a similarly important figure. Which he probably isnt.
