Chicharito Loan Watch | Real Madrid

He's only 2nd choice at Madrid because all of their other forward players are wingers or No 10s. It's not as if he plays in rotation with Benzema, and may as well be considered 4th choice for all of the good it's done him in regards to minutes on the pitch to be 2nd choice.

Huh? He only needs to compete with Benzema as their only striker. The other WF play all the time, also in different position.

With so many games they are involved in, and less competition for the spot, he's right to think that he'd get more minutes there than at United. So logically speaking, he chose the right option regardless of the hindsight.

It's not a brain-dead move, as the post I replied to mentioned.

It was orchestrated by his National Team manager. Even with Chicharito playing decent number of minutes with us in 13/14, Miguel Herrera completely dropped him in the World Cup. Now that he has moved to Real and with hardly playing, he has been brought back in the Mexico squad. I put the blame for this one fair and square on Herrera, but not a lot of people see it that way and accuse Hernandez.
Hernandez still hada choice to make though. Could have told the NT manager to do one. But he chose the other option and has to share in the responsibility.

At a smaller club, say Valencia or Everton you could guarantee that he would start every game. But he wont get the same opportunities at the likes of ourselves or Real.

I stopped caring much about him when he said he is now playing for the biggest club upon signing with RM, while actually still under contract with us. Maybe they forced him to say this, but he could easily have said "one of the biggest clubs in the world".
No big deal, but it went well for him at the biggest club in the world after all ...

Anyway when he was linked with them I already wrote he won't get many minutes as RM have so many attacking players and his alround game is nowhere near good enough to displace any of them despite his goal scoring instinct.
The less said about a few ppl thinking he would play ahead of Benzema the better!

I said something similar to this a while back. It was like he couldn't wait to start saying it as a dig at us. Despite the fact he'd been saying the same things about United when he first moved to us.

I lost a lot of the respect I had for him after that.

If Javier Hernandez has no future under Louis Van Gaal, tonight's his best chance to put himself in the shop window for a big club.

He made the right decision in moving to Madrid. He got shafted after putting in very good performances for Manchester United. If I was in his shoes I'd have said worse things than calling Madrid the biggest club in the world. My assumption was that he would provide cover for Benzema, but the versatility of Ronaldo, James, Bale, Isco meant that even with Benzema's absence he would find it hard to break into the side, which is no shame really. That said, he would have done well going to a club like Atletico or Juventus.

He's not been half bad so far.. Some nice passes and flicks, loved the nutmeg (I think it was a nutmeg) past miranda to win a freekick, should've been a yellow imo

Fans are responding well to him tonight. He's getting a lot of applause just for his hard work.

I honestly would take him back when we offload Falcao. He'll still get a lot more gametime than he is at Madrid.

Ronaldo finally realizing that the only way to beat Atletico is to play unselfish football.

Happy for him. He won't earn his move there but he's got something to remember and something the fans will remember.

He will be a good player at the right club, I still think he can score a lot of goals for a Europa league side therefore we should be looking at £20m or something but I can see the club selling him for £5m.

I'd rather have loaned him to a side where he would be first choice and one that matches well with him stylistically so he would get a lot of goals, the performances would drive his price up.

Pleased for the lad tbh. Looked completely fecked at the end mind, almost in tears.

He does what Falcao has failed to do. Look at the goal...he feigns a run and cuts back to lose his marker. Straight out of the textbook for a striker, which is why I am surprised that Falcao doesn't have the movement to get himself in similar positions at least once a game. I believe with Chicharito this season we could have been making a run for the title. We lost a lot of points where we just needed someone with his type of instincts.

What's his goals to games ratio now? Must be among the top in the world.

Was pretty average - worked hard, missed two great chances and got handed a goal on a platter. United and Madrid are above his level at the moment; unless he's happy sitting on the bench as backup.
