Chicharito Loan Watch | Real Madrid

If it's ture then let's sell him. 16 million is a great money. We signed him for a cheap price and we are going to sell him about twice of the price. Bargain!!! And his important late goals were also nice contribution. Well spent and well sell price.
If Woodward can do this then I must say he does his job really well.
It's not great money for someone who guarantees goals. Especially not in this market.

Some perspective: Pablo Osvaldo cost 15m. Tasic cost 11m. Lukaku cost 28m. Morata cost 16m. Origi cost 10m. Shane Long cost 12m. Ideye cost 10m. Enner Valencia cost 12m. Remy Cabella cost 12m. McCormack cost 11m.

If you look at some of the non-strikers: Vermaelen cost 15m. Javi Garcia cost 13m. Medel cost 10m. Markovic cost 20m.

Look at all those transfers and tell me how 16m for Hernandez would be great. It's average it's what it is.

We're not going to get anymore than £15-20m for a 26-year old who scored 4 goals in the Premier League last season. The only time you would is if the player has been considerably world class before, which Hernandez hasn't been, despite being a very good striker. We'd be laughed off by most clubs if we demanded £20m for him.

Hang on....Let me get this straight.

His agent was banging on about "regular" football before the WC...Now, he's leaving our bench, to sit on Madrid's bench?!

Game's gone mad

Yep i think so, when in form.

That's the difficult part though. "When in form" most very good players could demand high fees. The guy scored 4 PL goals last season, and has never managed more than 13, which was in his first season with us. Considering goalscoring is his main asset, no one is going to pay £20m for them unless they're happy to just throw away money, and even then it's unlikely. I like Hernandez, but he's not done enough to be a £20m+ player.

I think you are agreeing with me?

He scored 4 goals because he was barely played, and form slumped.

I'm not. You're saying he should go for £20m+. I'm saying he's done little to justify that. He'd have perhaps scraped that price at his best, but he's not going to get that now.

His form slumping is going to contribute to his price. If a player isn't playing at their best, a club isn't going to just fork out what they would have been valued at otherwise. Even though he wasn't playing a lot, if a player wants to go for a high fee then he's got to be in form and at his best. Hernandez hasn't been. There's absolutely nothing to suggest that he warrants a fee of £20m right now.

because Madrid was interested in him 2 years or so ago when he was scoring goals. Now that he's available and cheaper, they might still want to acquire him. And at Madrid he'll be behind Benzema in the peckin order. Given how many games Madrid plays in a given season, its likely that he'll get way more games there than here.
And this Real Madrid we are talking about.

Still an odd decision...And also, he wants to get back into the Mexico squad. Sitting on a different bench in Spain is not going to help.

Either way, I don't care to be honest....Our first 3 points is more a concern for me

No way. It's a great money. Ask anyone else here 16 million for Hernandez? Hernandez is our 4th choice striker and some clubs are willing to buy him for that price. I won't hold it too long. We are lucky enough to be able to sell him for that price especially with him being off since last season. I thought his price will go down drastically. We saw what happen to Kagawa, so better take the money or his price will go down.

Going to sell lots of shirts for Madrid. A change would be good for him, too. He looks burned out. It's clear they're going to give him trash minutes, but so will we. And we know which team is more likely to win trophies, which do keep players happier.

Not surprised by Real Madrid interest in Hernandez. He has tons of fans that would help madrid sell shirts and when he has his confidence back he is one of the best poacher in football. Madrid usually try and go for the best(beside Faubert ) and when Hernandez is in form, their is not many players as impactful as him coming off the bench. However, if it is gametime he really wants, he might get it at Madrid but mostly in form of sub appearance rather than starting regular.

He's a good player in a team that actually create chances. Expect him to score a few when he does play.

It doesn't make sense to me to go Madrid. He won't get many games which is what I thought was the issue at United. Who knows maybe with more chances created he can thrive.

It won't be a bad move, and he will get goals as RM have a lot of creaters. But he won't be playing that much even as their 2nd choice striker, unless Benzema gets a longer injury. Otherwise if things are not working Real usually bring in someone in midfield or Isco or even one left back for another. In the end you can only make 3 subs and with Real's quality on the bench Chicharito won't always be the first one to come on, or even come on at all.

Well, that's probably because they had quality options on midfield but no strikers on bench. Chicharito is a great plan B if he's in form.
Chicharito should at a least get the minutes Morata got, which is a decent amount. He grabbed 9 goals and appeared in 34 games last season.

I think gametime can also mean sub appearances. I would guess that it is not about starting but getting more minutes on the pitch. Playing the few minutes when some of Madrid forward becomes fatigue is not that bad for his career as he typically thrieve of coming on late in a game. Mexico coach and sir alex towards his end of his career utilized him like that and he did not complain as much.

He should've been part of the Di Maria deal. Now we clearly can't sell Welbeck as we need Roo, Welbeck, Wilson if RvP gets his knee op.

Nani is costing us money playing for Sporting.
Evra released for £1m.
Kagawa sold for half of what we paid for him
And now, Hernandez given to the richest club in the world on a loan.

Meanwhile, we blow our load on 4 players, two who are injured and one who can't even get a work permit.

Someone is having a laugh

Well exactly what Chicarito then got with us? In fact he got one more start with us!

Nowhere near good enough to play for them, but hey he will sell shirts I guess.

How on Earth people start this BS about Chicha being bought just for the sake of selling shirts? Buy a player from India or China or Indonesia if you want to boost your shirt sales. Chicha is being loaned in to help Real win more trophies, and I wish him all the luck that he may need there. He will score more for them than Danny for us this season. A good move for all parties concerned imo.

You bumbass.

I am saying he is worth £20m+ if on form, which he isnt.

I imagine there will be a decent loan fee.

It better be a fecking decent one, we've just given them £60m and the galactico transfer-record-setting cnuts come back asking for a damn loan?! Which according to Ballbag paves the way for Falcao to join City. Wonderful; rivals the Kagawa masterpiece of business in its brilliance.

On a different note, I wish Hernandez all the best. He was a breath of fresh air in that first season and has always come across as a genuinely likeable person. Good luck to him
