Cheering on Liverpool - 2017/18 edition

3 games, that's all - 3 fecking games, 1 of these is at Anfield too

If anything goes to penalties, they will almost certainly win that tie, because they seem to mystically cheat in them in a way that has not been discovered yet. fecking ''6 Times la'' can feck the feck right off. Also the truly 'orrible Deirdre Barlow lookalike's gurning fizzog leering down from the Kop off of the front of one of their 10 bed-sheet banner things. That won't be nice.

I. AM. WORRIED.

You have been on this forum for how long ? and you cont see that Liverpool are not liked on here

I fully expect us to be not liked and underrated. It's silly how people have been writing us off though.

There is deep sigh of relief from this part of Manchester this morning.Normally this is a game I enjoy because I wouldn't normally want either side to win ,but last night I was firmly in the Scoucers corner.

Could you imagine the feeling this morning with a City win and Barca going out, theme may have tossed away their best chance for some time of lifting big ears.

Although I believe Madrid are head and shoulders above the rest , City could dick them in a one off game especially if say a Ronaldo was injured, Bayern are in transition and not this season the force they were.

Whilst Liverpool have done fantastic and that was an absolute hammering 5-1!! Watching both game for the life of me I can't see them beating Madrid or Munich ( not sure about Roma)

The Scoucers front 3 are class but from there to back they are bang average ,the keeper is awful.Although they are hampered by several important injuries .

I can't dislike Klopp and it wouldn't bother me too much if they get to the final, Kiev is a shite place to get to anyway.

You overestimate Liverpool. Neither Bayern nor Real are as naive as City. Liverpool cannot score freely against them.
We've all seen how easily a couple of bad referee decisions can swing a tie. Even if they are second best in the final, it doesn't mean things can't fall in their favour anyway.

I can just about handle our failures these past few years as long as those feckers don’t add to their 18/5. This is the worst possible nightmare. You think Real Madrid or Bayern will handle them but can’t be sure.

Nobody is writing you off. In fact, more people are overrating your team and afraid you will win the competition somehow, if anything.

Has anyone said you have "no" chance?

Just a quick glance...

I prefer Liverpool to go through because as many are saying they have no chance against Madrid/Barcelona/Bayern but Man City will probably have a better chance of winning the whole competition. The next best option is for Liverpool to win a tight game in the 1st leg so that City have one eye on the 2nd leg in our derby match. They will have to rest players which will give us better chances to win the game. Then they beat Liverpool in the 2nd leg.

Madrid got this competition in their pocket. I can see them defeating all the remaining competitors unless Messi had another opinion. No chance for Bayern or Liverpool against them imo.

I don't think Liverpool have any chance what so ever to go through against any of Barca, Madrid or Bayern. Those teams can actually defend unlike overrated 250 m city defense who is untested so far because all they do is hold the ball so much..

Liverpool to win over two legs please. They'll get absolutely despatched by Madrid, Barca or Bayern in the next round and that will be more entertaining to watch.

=======

I'm just very confident Ronaldo will handle you lot. He can also do the "5 times la" thing back to you. ;)

While the rest of the world are talking about one team vs another, you make it out to be a contest of one player vs a team. It's nauseating really.

Putting emotions to the side for minute, it's perfectly reasonable to expect the likes of Real and Bayern to end any hopes Liverpool have of winning the competition.

Of course Liverpool have chance, any team that makes it to this stage of the CL can stake that claim, just a very remote chance.

Loads on here who wanted us to beat city, because they were confident we'd have no chance at all against Bayern, Barcelona or Real.
I dont think anyone thinks you would have no chance as football always throws up surprises. I just think the majority felt city would have more of a chance of going all the way so the lesser of two evils was you lot going through.

Okay...

It's just I think it's going to be "5 times la" personally for Ronaldo this year.

Nah there were fun but it's time to put an end to this risk. They had accomplished their mission excellently against City, send them Real or Bayern in semis as reward for their hard work

Who the feck wants Liverpool to draw Roma?

I hope everyone here is unanimously agreed that we want Real Madrid and Ronaldo to win the competition, because if they don’t, Liverpool most likely will.

I would much prefer Roma to win the competition, to a lesser extent Bayern. feck Madrid and Feck Ronaldo.

who cares. Christiano Ronaldo is not a rival to Liverpool FC.

Sky Sports News just saying Coutinho could still get a Champions League medal because he played for Liverpool in the group stages scoring five goals and that it will come down to Klopp to decide if he wants to give him a medal (should we win it that is).

Have they parted on good terms?

If Coutinho has any pride he wouldn't accept it even if it were offered.

As great as Roma played last night, I don’t see that happening. I’d also back Liverpool to run Bayern really close.

In my eyes, Madrid are our only hope.

Those "Cheering" on Liverpool wanted to see City out as soon as possible because they really looked like they actually could win it. Liverpool is still a shaky side and they can deffently go out against Roma.
If they should (God forbid) go on and win the whole damn thing it won't be because of the Red Cafe`s Cheering on Liverpool thread. It probably will have something to do with them being successful in attacking and being lucky not conceding goals.

What Im saying is that its not up to us, its not feckin voodoo. We just want the best possible things for United and that is at the moment the FA-title and Klopp winning no title. We can't do anything about Citys double now but it was kind of nice to see the baldy and his men walking out from the Champions league in shame on a silent night at the Etihad. It could be even sweater to watch our ex United star CR7 out class Liverpool in the semis or the final.

I support United, but I hope Lpool wins it and start to be strong. I prefer competing in the EPL against a strong Lpool side than a shite oil club.

Quite the opposite. We remember how you stumbled to "five times la" in 2005 and can see it happening again.

Indeed, one of the worst teams ever to win the competition.

This Liverpool side has a chance, certainly. Neither Madrid nor Bayern are where they were a few years ago.

So what ? All 4 semi-finalists will have strengths & weaknesses which put them in a similar category. The bookies have us at 7/2 to win the competition, & they're generally spot on with these sort of things. Therefore that gives us a 28% chance of becoming European champions, which in turn makes the chances of us being beaten at 72%. So well done on your astute observation.

You should try following things more accurately then you wouldn't look as silly..

I mentioned it in response to what was being spouted by your own fans on here. It's frustrating having to state the obvious I know but some of your fan base (and ours weirdly) seem to need reminding.

We're the only undefeated team in the tournament, have conceded the least amount of goals and scored the most (also most of any british team ever). Also, we're in the fecking semis.

We may not be favorites, but I don't see how any united fans could possibly sit assured that we have no chance of winning it from here.

You had the easiest group. Let's be honest. When you played the only half decent team, Sevilla, you conceded 5 goals over the home and away ties and failed to beat them.

It was hardly a masterclass.

I just want to point out that bookies do not offer these to 100%, so 28% is not their assessed chance of you winning.

All the Liverpool fans laughing cos Coutinho moved to Barcelona, forgetting (a) that he's going to win a La Liga medal and (b) they haven't won feck all yet.

It's exactly the same price on the Betfair exchange, which is pretty much a 100% book.
Although 7/2 implies a 22.22 % chance of winning, not 28%. A 2 in 9 chance, not a 2 in 7 chance.

I don't have much confidence in Madrid tbh. They've flattered to deceive in a few CL fixtures but have been miles off the pace in La Liga all season. Roma punched way above their weight against Barca and can't be expected to hit those heights again. Basically we need to hope/pray that Bayern are on top of their game to stop this season having a horrific finish. Anyone who thought/thinks Liverpool have no chance of winning this thing is fecking deluded. They've got an excellent chance.
