Championship 2024/25

Think Edwards will be gone this weekend? I think with Coventry getting rid of Robins in a similar position it's looking likely.
His time looks like it's coming to an end. He looks like a broken man in interviews. Hopefully takes Woodrow with him.

Yeh and kraus/morris benched. Baffling.

Sat watching with the old fellar. He was convinced ‘Boro would lose and Carrick would be on the hot seat. He’s struggling to find something to complain about now they’ve won. Miserable old git

The Sheffield Wednesday manager looks like he should be going to school in the morning.

Swtiched over from Chelsea to Sheffield Utd v Coventry.

Cracking 15 mins, goal, red card and some hand bags. Entertaining game.

Nice goal from Dan James. Luton have been awful as usual.
Surely Edwards has to go. Just looking at the stats for the game and it's pretty grim viewing. In all the games I've seen this season, I've not been impressed or seen any promising signs.

Going to another game in a couple of weeks and fully expecting a disappointing performance if Edwards is still in charge.

Agreed. But the board won't do it. It's gonna be a season of utter shite.

Derby v Portsmouth

Good game, Derby 3 up after 30 mins.

Think the last time I saw these play Robbie Savage was playing for Derby and Harry and Nico were starting a beautiful romance on the South Coast.

Watching the game, I swear Carlton Morris and Kenzo Goudmijn are long lost brothers

Rooney 3-3 Carrick

Rooney in front 3 times only for Carrick to peg him back.

Perhaps Plymouth might feel they could have won it, not been watching but they smashed it on xG. 3.56-1.81.

By far their highest of the season on that, previous was 1.7. Encouraging performance v Sheffield United last week too despite defeat where played well. Phelan having an impact?

Middlesbrough vs Sheff Wed

5’ 1-0
15’ 2-0
30’ 3-0

47’ 3-1
54’ 3-2
55’ Boro red card
61’ 3-3

I can't remember seeing a goal scored from further away.

Sunderland very much in the race for automatic promotion with that win. Still don’t think they will reach that but an important win regardless. Would prefer them to the yo-yo clubs though.

Tony Mowbray is back in football management after illness with a second spell at West Brom.

After his work with Amad at Sunderland, might be a good spot for any of our young players needing a Championship loan.

Amad has grown a lot since then. I remember in the Championship he kept diving but the potential was clear to see. Sending a few prospects to Championship under a manager like him is always a good idea I reckon.

Really poor game between Burnley and Sunderland ends in a goalless draw. Sunderland missed 2 penalties in the last 10 minutes.

Why would Sunderland let Isidor take the second penalty after he made such a mess of the first?

Kinda of Justice thought , thought both penalty calls were iffy.

Trafford has been saving quite a few, I’ve been really impressed by him. It’s rare to see a goal keeper with swagger but he’s looked strong this year.

Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday live on ITV today. Since when did they put championship matches on normal tv? Is this a one of or a new thing?

Itv announced they'd bought a sub licence from sky allowing them to show some of sky's efl and carabao cup matches.

The arsenal newcastle semi final first leg was also on itv as well.

Ye it was, I wonder if they put the final on itv. Wish they’d buy some of the prem games.

I reckon itv will at least show one of semi finals again, could well show the final as well.

They could attempt to get some prem games but I'd imagine it would be too expensive for them. They supposedly paid around £15 million for the efl and carabao games.

They do show some la liga games so tbf it's not out the question they may get some prem at some point.

Gary Rowett needs some credit for the job he’s doing at Oxford - they were in free fall before he took over.

14 points now from a possible 18 (4 wins 2 draws) and they’ve pulled clear of the relegation zone

Matt Bloomfield must be regretting his decision

I'm really surprised he left Wycombe like that. Though I guess it's often too easy to judge someone who has spent their career in lower league football, getting a big contract from a club with parachute payments behind them. That contract might feasibly be worth more than he got in his entire Wycombe career.

Plus he played once in the league cup for Ipswich in the 2002/03 season so he's a hero of mine.
