Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

Personally I'm surprised that Grealish wasn't sent off for flinging himself against those boards.

That's more unsportsman behaviour than a foul tbf, but I was talking about foul after in Real Madrid's side of the oitch.

I love watching Madrid play, such a fun team! I hope one day we can replicate what they're doing :(

Rodri so lucky there. BT only cry when City players are fouled

What’s interesting is how some of the senior players at Real still manage to control the game, their defensive line is quite brilliantly organised.

Rodri is their Fernandinho. Never gets yellow. He could have 5 by now.

Real look like a side that trains with purposeful intent, which can't always be said about United.

Both teams look like they're playing a different sport compared to us :(
It's the speed and placement of the players on the pitch.

I said a year or so ago that we play like we are running on software that is a couple of years out of date. Still functional and can do stuff but in comparison to later updates, like Madrid, City, Liverpool we look half as quick, half as fast, half as strong. Glaring when you watch other games.

It's coaching. Thankfully I've seen some improvement under ETH where the patterns of play, combinations etc have looked better.

True. But still: they had one actual attempt on goal in 45 minutes and they scored that.

Oh, for sure. It's incredible how often they can 'lose' on possession percentage, shots total and those other metrics that the big teams tend to dominate and still invariably find a way to win these big matches. Not to tempt fate or anything, as this tie is still wide open.

I see Rodri has the magic yellow card spell from the PL applying here.

Modric almost never under hits or over hits a pass. Always just the right amount pace on the ball.

What I would give to play in front of 80,000 spectators, even if I made an arse of myself. That must be quite something.

Agree with everything but the bolded… when have you seen this? How long ago?

So surprised we haven't seen Mahrez yet for city.

Thing about Madrid is they dont play the way fans think modern football should be played and still dominate in Europe. They press high in patches and I’d love to see how far they run in games on average.
im not watching Courtois passing it out while under pressure to the midfield
