Champions League Round of 16 fixtures

Some pretty ruthless defending going on pushing the ref to the limit, but you expect that from an Italian side.

Really good game this.

Celtic don't deserve to be losing.

Terrific by Lucas :(

Meh he chose to play in the French first division rather than the Premiership, says everything you need to know about his ambition. Most likely he'll end up like another mid 20s fat brazilian as soon as he wins anything of any worth.

Zaha might not be as naturally talented but I reckon he'll contribute as much to us as Lucas will to them in the long run

Madness playing without a single DM, typical Valencia in the CL really... breeze through the group, scoring left and right... collapse and become impotent as soon as they reach the knockouts. :annoyed:

Hit and miss. Sensational sometimes, then can be awful the next time he plays. Almost strolls around like Berbatov at times. Class when he's on form.

Thanks. Yeah, his rating in games always made me think he "could" play very well but the fact I don't really hear that much about him confused me a bit. Makes sense if he's inconsistent.

What was all this talk of Juve being up to the standards of Juve of old in the early part of this thread. They've been puke.

I'm no Celtic fan, but I'd love to see them pinch this one and it could happen.

No he's right. Juventus has had one chance due to poor defending, Celtic have been the better side here.

Juventus have come in with a setup to sit back and allow Celtic to come at them, of course that's going to mean Celtic are going to have more chances, that doesn't mean they deserve to be leading though when they've not overly troubled Juve outside one or two moments. There's been tonnes of examples like this in Europe and it'll play into Juve's hands here as more time passes and Celtic tire.

It'll be a much different game in Turin where Juventus wont sit back and will come with a completely different approach.

If Celtic attackers had a better first touch, they would have scored a couple.

Wow, Lavezzi and specially Lucas Moura have destroyed Valencia.Too much speed and technique from the PSG team, I fear that Valencia might get humiliated in both legs now

Juventus are playing hoofball It's that simple really.

Celtic to pretty well considering this side probably wouldn't get promoted from the championship. Really well set up and the players are fired up

Bit harsh, they're better than that. Still Juve have too much class in key areas of the park.

It says more about Leonardo's hard work to convince him with the help of Alex and Thiago Silva than anything else.

Juve doing a professional job for me, no clear cut chances for Celtic and would not be surprised to see them end up 2-0 winners.

Wish we'd drawn Celtic or Juve. We're miles better than these two.

Miles better than Juve? Are you assessing them based on this first half only?

United is better, but not by miles. They made the same number of points you did in a tougher group and with more convincing exhibitions.

United still has something to prove in Europe. Haven't seen a better-than-average European game from you lot for the past 18 months.

Disappointed by Juve tbh, they should've spotted the weakness in Celtic defense and showed some ambition. Their midfield also have looked slow.

They've had atleast 3 decent chances. Should have scored by now.

I missed the first 35 minutes of the first half, but after watching the replays, the first goal was good, but a decent goalkeeper should never have been beaten at that height, no way. The second goal he had another chance of saving. All in all, Valencia dominating PSG via possession but impotent up front. They don't have a clue what to do in the final third. So, it is not a case of PSG being brilliant for me, just two howlers from an average goalkeeper and would look nice in the Reina howler thread.

Well obviously now that Celtic have to open up that could easily happen, but it's not like Juve are doing too much right. Any one of those shots from 19-20 yards could have easily gone in and on another night they could have had a peno.

PSG again. Possession is probably 98% Valencia but they're doing absolutely nothing except boring everyone to tears.

I was just thinking Valencia were waking up a bit, showing a bit more aggression, getting a bit closer to doing something. Then it's 0-2. Doh.

I'm going to watch Celtic second half.

Apart from that cock up in the Celtic defence at the start they've been by far the better team in that 1st half. I hope they at least get an equalizer in the 2nd half.

I haven't said that PSG were brilliant tbh.Just that individually they're on another level to Valencia and understandly so with all the fecking money they have spent in the last couple of years.

Just think - after we dick Madrid, Barca will be the only Spanish team left in the competition.

No, Juventus are playing the sit back and soak up the pressure and then hit Celtic on the break, why that's so hard for some to see is beyond me.

Nobody is misunderstanding that. But Celtic have still been the better side and had the better chances.

No, you're trying to see something that isn't there because it's the mighty Juve with the all powerful Italian style football, when infact they are being dominated in the middle by an average side and scored a pretty flukey goal. Not great tactical genius there.
