Champions League Round of 16 (15th Feb - 16th Mar)

Chelsea are really boring.

Feel the same, when lille players has the ball suddenly 6-8 chelsea players show up surrounding and I wonder how many defenders do they have and play. Attacking wise there is little build up and rely on 1 or 2 players upfront and wait for opposition mistakes and counter attacking situations.

And lille is very poor side honestly, their GK kicks the ball straight towards nearest chelsea player, great game for lukaku to come in and get some goals.

Haha Rabio caught napping there, game on.

Terrible from him, I have no idea how he starts for Juve and the French national team.

Tidy with the ball but weak willed and an absolute liability at times.

Lille - 3-2-1 +3 GD (11 points)
RB Salzburg 3-1-2 +2 GD (10 points)
Sevilla - 1-3-2 0 GD (6 points)
Wolfsburg - 1-2-3 -5 GD (5 points)

Explains a lot. They are currently 11th in France. They'd be fighting to stay up in the PL.

That's Granero. Parejo never played outside Spain

The pace of the Villarreal and Juventus match is shockingly slow relative to the premier league. Players have so much time to think on a pass

He might get suspended for the next game upon a post match review. That was a concrete red
Still not good enough. Imagine Juventus keeps this result or even get a victory now.

10 men for the rest of the game should be just decision. Why spend resource on VAR when they can miss a blatant foul like this?

I definitely agree. Might make the difference between Villarreal going through

didn't even realize he was in England. Was QPR in EPL at the time?

Was before they had their stint in the Prem I think, just after the F1 billionaires had bought them. Some pretty weird transfers around that time and after they came to the PL as well.

CL knockout is definitely more boring without the away goal rule.

Don't think you can pin that on the rule change. If anything, the Bayern and Juve ties have better second legs potentially because the favourites haven't got the away goal advantage.

It's just because the matchups are pretty poor.

Agree. And even with away goal, usually the first leg was often a bore feat too for terrible match up

What's the longest Chelsea have been trophyless in the Abramovich era?

We beat them 4-0 with a fluid pressing attack and no Lukaku - you are 100% correct.
That was the last time we played convincingly and won the game.

In that game chilwell got injured I think and our game play in general went down there after.
