Champions League Quarter Finals | Chelsea vs Real (Tue) | Bayern vs City (Wed)

Bayern have no chance. I expect city to pick them off on the break

What's the highest Bayern have lost on aggregate in the era of the Champions League? Could see that record fall tonight.

Other game is largely irrelevant.

5-0 to Madrid in 13/14? Maybe more before the more recent era but that's the biggest defeat I can remember for them within the last decade or two

Bayern can qualify.

Pep has become a bottler in the UCL without Messi/Xavi/Iniesta.

It's not impossible for Bayern to score fast today, and make City nervous.

Let's see. There's a good chance Guardiola becomes one of very few coaches to win 3 UCLs, this year.

What is all this top of the league nonsense? CL and league are two different competitions. Or maybe UEFA should just decide to let awesome and unbeatable top of the league Arsenal and Barca play each other in the CL semi.

When I seize power that is exactly what will happen as only champions will be allowed into the competition.

Along with Real Madrid, as they win it every fecking year

Fair enough if the format changes to what it used to be. But the moaning wouldn’t stop as Milan are the reigning Serie A Champions so would be playing but as this season they are not top of the league what the hell are they doing in the semi final or something.

Fair point!

Not going to watch any of today's games. Good luck and have fun to the people here who are going to watch it. Tomorrow's game is the big one.

My view as well. My remaining interest in the CL is that City fail to win it yet again. The big one is tomorrow's game.

It's truly amazing that Choupo-Moting is not only a guaranteed starter but became the face of the team and him returning is probably Bayern's biggest reason to have a little bit hope for today.

It's also truly amazing how some people (not you, making a general point) can't see beyond his stint at Stoke

Put players in environments with proper coaching and support, and watch them outperform past history in dysfunctional environments.

What's the deal with João Mario - 23 goals in 44 games this season after only managing 30 in his previous nearly 350 games for club and country? How does that just happen?

It's pretty undeniable that Milan and inter benefited hugely from being in one of the weakest half's of a knockout draw there's ever been

Milan, inter, napoli, benfica, Porto, Tottenham, brugge, frankfurt

The other side of the draw having been

Madrid, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Dortmund, psg, leipzig and bayern. You'd back 5 of those sides to best any team from the other half and you'd probably give Chelsea a decent chance at it.
No i wouldn't. I'd back Madrid, City and Bayern. PSG finished behind Benfica in their group, Liverpool???? The team that got trucked in Naples so hard they needed to buy a new arsehole their old one was broken. Chelsea? Have you even seen them? Lepizig and BvB are downright worse teams than all 3 QF plus Porto as well at least

Yeah and Milan and inter and 4th and 5th in serie a, and actually 5th and 6th, just juventus' points deduction put them ahead. In a knockout tie you'd still fancy psg or Liverpool over those sides, even if it hasn't been a stellar season

Plays a different position in this very high-scoring and attacking Benfica side.

Liverpool are what, 8th in the PL? They're really not very good. They took a 2-0 lead at home and went on to lose that game 5-2 ffs.

PSG maybe, but they've far from impressed in every game against a decent team that wasn't suicidal(OM) all season long. And again, they finished behind Benfica in their group while looking distinctly the worse side of the two

Yeah against you lot, who are far, far better than any of those 8 sides. I'm not suggesting Liverpool are great or psg, but those 8 teams are among the weakest I've ever seen for one side of a draw. Not a single side that you would really have given a chance of winning it, while the other side of the draw had all the favourites
