Champions League Quarter Finals | Chelsea vs Real (Tue) | Bayern vs City (Wed)

Chelsea fans better wave their flags aggressively next week to the chant of Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea... Might inspire the team to score first and make it into a tie

If Chelsea had kept this down to 1-0, they'd have every reason to be reasonably pleased. But they didn't, so... hard to see Real fecking it up from here.

Not that shite again (and this is not just because of your post, I regularly read stuff like this during other teams’ CL games).

Every season some people claim this. Just because Barca are leading La Liga and we beat them and they beat Real a while ago doesn’t mean we would “dick” Real.

Why not rather stick to reality which is that the very reason United played Barca was because we couldn’t even win our conference league level Europa League group and Barca failed to get out of their CL group.

If we can beat the best teams in Europe then let’s actually do it by making sure we are in the CL next season and then let’s also perform. Apart from PSG we haven’t won a CL knock out game against a “big” team since we beat Chelsea in 2010/11. Hell the only other knock out game we won since was Olympiacos under Moyes.
I know what you are saying but I am usually the last to jump on the 'we can do these' wagon.

I do believe what I said although I shouldve added that we need to be at our best. There are many reasons why I posted it aswell - we did Barca over 2 legs (who are 13 points clear of this Madrid side), Chelsea are shite yet they've left the Bernabeu only 2 nil down despite being 10 men down for the last 40 mins. Also we looked very very good until the disgrace of a liverpool match.

Really poor quality game. 4 games without scoring for us... Need a miracle to go through, we're awful.

The BT commentary are very biased. They are talking about this game is if Chelsea have had a lot of chances and Madrid have scored from their few opportunities. Even before the red card, Madrid were comfortably the better team.

They were, Chelsea just didn't find the solution/doesn't have the players to hurt Real Madrid. They'd need far more pace up front and someone in the box to take advantage of what could happen on Carvajal's side. It's just not doable for them.

Is it though? Your team doesn't look very threatening on the attack.

Yes, I feared it would be 4-0 when we went down to 10 men. I’d be slightly disappointed with this score if I was a RM fan.

10 men away to Real Madrid in the Champs League, 2-0 first leg isn't a disaster.

But not a good result, of course not.
Of course it's not a disaster but it's a bit bizarre to to be talking up this performance. I think they're overrating that performance from Chelsea, they dug in but it was far from being unlucky.

I was disappointed no one bothered to run at Camavinga after his early yellow.

Think Napoli will still go through? :nervous: . I'd like the toughest possible opponent for City if they beat Real Madrid.

Hopefully we can use these six days and the Brighton game to muster up something as original and creative as "United United United" :)

Referee in the Milan game was great from what I saw.

Zlatan to finally win it this year...

Need that Dutch journalist that interrogated Weghorst. That's 4 games in a row Chelsea haven't scored in, a pathetic 29 goals in the league this season. Yet still trying this false 9/9s thing that is just failing miserably. They're shocking to watch in attack.

Is Mudryk a right winger? I’m kinda shocking Lampard didn’t stick him on at half time and just told him to keep running at Cama.

I was a bit baffled by the commentary trying to big up Chelsea for the last 30. That was a training ground game that Madrid walked through. They'll win at the Bridge.

So basically the same as every other match they didn’t score in this season?

We didn’t really create much tonight. One Felix chance early on and then a few chances. We were atrocious as an attacking force.

BT sport really trying to play up this result as a good result for Chelsea.

I don't see how it is given Chelsea need to come out and score and Madrid will fancy that. Plus Chelsea don't actually look like scoring

It wasn't really a good performance, i will admit.

But i don't think your attack is all that great tbh, so to turn it around will take a lot.

Milan have Napoli's number. They contain them well. Though that said, Maignan is brick wall.
