Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

I said it before, as someone who hates Liverpool deeply, i'm dreading the thought that they could well win the CL.
Their style, attacking prowess and prolific goal-scoring means they can beat anyone on their night - the remaining teams will all try to attack them, if the perfect storm occurs, they can beat any of them.
No chance they win. It will be either be Real, Barca, or Bayern.

Ref is great. I wish pl have refs like him. City players are going down on every contact and he just say- play on

Felix Brych is always very good when I watch him, imo the best ref in the world atm. The PL had referees like Webb and Clattenburg but is struggling a bit for similar calibre ones atm.

Great to see City getting embarassed and Pep getting taken down a peg or two, maybe the media love in will stop after this, but it’s still Liverpool and they’ll probably feck this up either tonight or in the next leg.

Liverpool have been great all over the pitch, free flowing attacking and completely shutting down City's game plan.

In lies the problem with this Liverpool team, they simply cannot maintain such high intensity for 90 minutes. I'm not even close to writing off City at this point.

If they get a goal back, they have a chance in the second leg. If Liverpool keep a clean sheet here it’s done.

City aren’t out of this tie yet, if they score the next goal they’re right back in it. Still a lot of football left to be played. If they can take 3-1 back to the council house I’d fancy them to go through.

Problem with what pool are doing is I suspect they might tire before the end like they did last time because right now they look as if they are working their socks off more than usual.

At least if Pool win this no way do City play at full pelt this weekend so we shouldn’t have to put up with that winning the title against us threat.

Playing open attacking football at Anfield is just stupid. Park the bus, close the space and let the "fantastic" Anfield support get increasingly frustrated.

Some of the worst teams in the league have been to Anfield and shown what can happen when you don't let Liverpool have space.

And? They've smashed nearly every team they've played in the UCL so far. You'd have to have your head deeply buried in the sand not to agree Liverpool have a very good chance at winning it.

My head isn't buried deep in the sand at all, anyone that's watched City at Anfield over the past 10+ seasons will know that they're consistently awful. This isn't really a huge shock at all and doesn't mean that Pool will be able to hold a candle against Madrid, Barca or Bayern. This tie isn't even over anyway, if City do something similar to the 4-3 earlier in the season, which is entirely possible, they'll finish the job at the Etihad. Both of them can piss off either way.

Yeah, probably has something to do with him not giving a feck who wins so he can do his job properly unlike English ones who are clearly biased.

This is where Mourinhos tactics of park the bus pays dividends. If it were us tonight, we would just sit back and defend and we definitely would not concede three. Still though Liverpool need another one to be sure (they need a lead of four clear goals IMO). If city get even one, as in it finishes 3-1, I would fancy them (city) to go through.

Who were these people who kept banging on hoping for a Liverpool win? Sooner they are out the better; this is objectively terrible.

Liverpool were probably the worst team City could have gotten bar Barca. The only team to beat them in the league!
Begiristian was pissed off at the draw. You could tell by the look on his face. They knew it was the worst tie from the beginning.

Liverpool have been very good, but they need to either not concede an away goal, or win by at least 3 if there is an away goal. Otherwise I can see city turning around the tie at the Etihad as a 2 goal lead isn't much.

Called it that Gundogan for Sterling is a mistake. Big mistake by Guardiola. Gundogan is slow and the game passes him by.

Liverpool just play City perfectly. Go at them, don't give them any time on the ball and have a bit of belief. Too many teams think they've lost before the game even starts and when you have that attitude it's over.

Too many overrated players in that City team that believe their own hype. Yes, Kyle Walker, I'm looking at you.

Best team of the epl era is losing - OMG. How will the media pundits take this.

That defence and midfield of Liverpool is piss poor . Seriously bad game by City and they are just very fragile .

Park the bus never pays dividends.
Both teams are shite defensively. Only one team's attack decided to turn up.

Shocking half and alot of it is on Pep. Pushing Laporte to LB, putting KDB on the right which means Walker is having to push too far forward at Anfield. Trying to be too clever and paying the price, should have stuck to our usual team and lineup. But most of all is the complete lack of effort...

And some from here wanted us to press Liverpool like hell! This is what they do to you if you press them like crazy. There is a reason Jose is a master tactician when it comes to games like this. One goal conceeded against this Liverpool attack. 4 points out of 6.
I am pretty sure Liverpool will conceed at least one in this match!
