Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

Hoping for Madrid vs. Liverpool and hopefully Madrid-Roma in the final. Be lovely to see Roma win it but they are a distant 4th favorite unfortunately. I just want the tournament over now it's hard to stomach seeing Liverpool close to glory.

Don't mean to annoy you....Sorry....

But I know how you feel - I detest people on here calling Guardiola, Pep, ffs...Do they call Klopp, Jurgen ??
Well it’s short for his name, and less letters to type. Athletic is another club, more characters to type, and tbh confusing unless you know about your ‘joke’!

Just watched Dzeko destroy Barca and remember we shipped him out to bring in Bony.. fecking Bony...

Okay, now it’s getting ridiculous. I can agree that our CB‘s aren’t as fast as some 170cm strikers, but Kimmich is seriously fast and agile. He’s no Alves in his prime, but I would struggle to name a faster defender these days.

I'll concede the point as I'm pretty sure you are the authority on them. Still hope the scousers draw Real.

Talking about destiny - Bayern have lost 3 European Cup finals to English teams.

Villa, United, Chelsea. Knowing them they'll complete the set with Liverpool.

The funny thing is that Bayern are probably the last team Klopp wants to face, and the last thing Bayern wants is to face an English team.

That's why I think it's guaranteed they will meet, either in the semis or in the final.

Remember a month ago when sections of the caf criticised Mourinho when we beat Liverpool 2-1 with Salah in our pockets?

I didn’t understand it then, and watching them tonight make me understand it even less now

That was laughable even that summer. Always felt dzeko was treated incredibly harshly at City, considering the impact he did have when he played for you lot.

Klopp's record against Bayern isn't half as bad as people believe it is. He's beaten them in pretty big games at Dortmund

14/15 : Knocked them out of DFB Pokal (lost the two league games though)
13/14 : Split the league games but Bayern topped them in the Cup
12/13 : Drew the league games, but Bayern got past them in the finals of the CL and Cup (1-0 & 2-1)
11/12 : Beat them 3 times including the final of the Cup

In fact his record vs Heynckes' Bayern is a lot better than vs Guardiola's Bayern.

BT have finally got the highlights up for the Roma vs Barca game.

Who else thought City would go through, when they got the vital early goal? Have to say they were on the end of some terrible officiating over the two legs, but a 5-1 aggregate doesn't lie: Liverpool deserve to go through. Bad, bad week for the Bitters, but they'll end with two trophies, which isn't half bad.

Liverpool to draw Roma and make the final? It better not happen.

It was crazy and I genuinely think the decision that led to most City fans losing faith in Pelligrini. Dzeko played a huge role in our 2nd title win. When Liverpool and Suarez were pulling away, he single handedly kept us in the mix. After Toure he was probably our key player late in the season with Aguero missing so many games. Being benched for Negredo (who admittedly was great for 3 months) was bad enough but replaced with Bony afterwards was an insult.

nah, Bayern wants anybody but Real.

Surely Real Madrid and Bayern are strong enough to kick Liverpool out of this? I'm going to get nightmares if pool make it to the final or even the semis...

Anybody else think as weird an all as it seems Roma could be the worst draw for Liverpool. Klopp teams are notorious game raisers and Roma would be the one side they are favourites over. Also, Roma are a biggish physical team who will sit back and be happy for them to have the ball.

They are already in the semis; prepare for nightmares

If they make the final we'll all be shitting bricks, as anything can happen then.

I'd rather not take the chance. Real Madrid have been hit and miss this season, and I'm concerned Liverpool could actually beat them. On current form, perhaps Bayern would be the toughest opposition.

I want to stress that we -Bayern- are NOT in the semis, yet.

Just being careful here.

So, what's going to happen to Liverpool with regards to that mob violence? One game stadium ban?

We sold players for 120m € during that time though, and Pep actually had to play a semi vs MSN-led Barca with a throughly depleted squad and not a single actual winger available.
Feel free to shit on his City time all you want, please, but leave us out of it.

The final score is misleading, every single 50-50 decision was against MC.
It was 50-50 that Salah offside goal on the first leg should not stand.
It was 50-50 that MC's legitimate gold would have stood and they would have pulled it back to 3-1 rather than 3-0.
In the first half of the second leg, Mane avoided a red card, Miller escaped a possible hand ball penalty, Arnold avoided a potential penalty call also. Combine those 3 together, it should be at least 50-50 that at least one of the decision might have gone against Liverpool.
It was 70-30 that MC's goal right before the half time could have stood.

Changing just one decision out of those above may result in MC completely annihilating Liverpool like they did at Etihad.
For a series of 50-50 decisions going unfavorably against you may result in something similar to Huddersfield outscoring Man Utd at Old Trafford.

Putting out there, the Roma win is an even better comeback then Barca against PSG last year.

It didn’t have the same level of drama, I don’t think you’ll see many teams needing 3 goals in the 88th minute pull it off at any level of football, let alone a CL knockout tie.

But over the 94 minutes Roma played at a better tempo than barca did in that game v PSG.
