Champions League - Matchday 6

German commentator stated now that Dortmund holds the record of scoring the most goals in UCL group stage in history (21 scored).

Yes 21 goals. We had the record before alongside Barca (did it twice) with 20.

Very risky body check from Carvajal, could've easily be a penalty. This isn't the NFL

´Dortmund now the sole record holder in goals scored in a CL group stage, with 21. Congratulation, that's quite something, even if 12 of those goals came from the games against Warsaw :D

Actually, it has been 14.

So the Europa League teams are: Copenhagen, Lyon, Spurs, Besiktas, Rostov, Monchengladbach, Warsaw and Ludogorets.

This Dortmund vs Madrid game has been great. Two teams playing real high quality football.
Great offensive football. We were superb for the first 30 minutes, rest of the game we were pretty bad on defence. Dortmund were really good overall. Still not a great team on the level of the best, but that's due to age and experience. Looked much better than they did in the first leg.

Legia with -14 GD goes through.

Dinamo without a single goal. Nice campaign.

We can't play Atleti or Barsa so I think that there are many chances.Between Juve and Arsenal I prefer Arsenal, I think their style fit better for us
Also our record against juve is pretty dire

Glad Sevilla went through. 4 Spanish sides through?

Zagreb, 0 points 0:15 GD:lol:

'even less players in attack'? Schürrle, Auba, Pulisic, Dembele are four all out attackers.
I'm not saying they should have sat back, of course not, I'm saying they should have had a formation that's not so hugely permeable and that's better at keeping possession.
Leave out Schürrle, Dembele on the wing and play a three man midfield.

Dortmund have basically already been playing in their 4141/433/4231 hybrid, with Dembele as sort of a no10. All three players you've named committed to defensive duties, Schürrle in particular has a very good work rate and completed 5 tackles according to whoscored (more than any other Dortmund player).
Ginter and Rode would've been the alternatives (Sahin/Kagawa/Götze injured), but both would've been severe downgrades in terms of ball retention compared to Schürrle and Pulisic and even with the two of them Dortmund struggled with Real's pressing intensity.

Arsenal to draw one of Benfica, Bayern, Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto, Sevilla
City to get one of Napoli, Atletico, Monaco, Dortmund, Juve
Leicester to draw one of PSG, Benfica, Bayern, Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Sevilla
I think City has it tougher, but not by much.

If Leicester's game was a horse race, there would be a steward's enquiry. I bet Copenhagen are fuming with their capitulation.

How? He's in front of auba, protecting the ball. It's auba that bumps into him, not the other way around

Arsenal & Leicester can draw two of the best three teams in Europe but Man City have it harder. Cannot see the logic there.

3 years knocked out of european competitions by referee performances. We're not Manchester United, this money will be missed. Bring the fecking video refs, because this is just a bunch of bullshit. We were better than Schalke 2 years ago, we were better than Leverkusen and CSKA last year, we were WAY better than Legia this year.

So into the next round are:

4 Spanish teams (2 group winners)
3 English teams (2 group winners)
3 German teams (1 group winner)
2 Italian teams (2 group winners)
2 French teams (1 group winner)
2 Portuguese teams

I don't think any of the teams City can draw is a walkover. Arsenal should be able to beat Benfica, Porto, Leverkusen.

Nah, he takes a deliberate step sideways and moves his shoulder into him. Not that it mattered anyway, both teams got what they wanted.

Dortmund are such a sexy team going forward. If they were even 1% more efficient they'd have smashed Real there.. Every time they drove forward there were easy through balls to be made and they kept making bad decisions. Peak Messi would have got a double hat trick in that side.
