Champions League - Group Stage R5 - Tues 21st & Wed 22nd November

That´s part of their team set-up though. Always play fast and high-risk. Now one would imagine that once that had led to going up 3-0 that you´d be adaptable enough to play a little less risky and more possession-based, but we have 10 years of evidence Klopp does not think so.
Yes, I remember some epic Dortmund survival battles happening solely for the fact they couldn't properly see out a game they had already won.

Liverpool made my day :). fecking great that although didn't watch that game.
Lolwut!!?!? They drew?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: I stopped following with a minute to go and the BBC saying Milner had got them organised. I guess not.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I love the way 3-3 has turned into their nightmare scoreline

Anybody knows why is napoli's stadium half empty? And not for the first time. As i know they are crazy for football...
Someone told me italian fans generally don't care about Europe, not sure how true that actually is. I worked with a Napoli fan before and he didn't care about Europe, still doesn't.

Imho:

- Prices too high
- Their supporters care more about Serie A (for example there were 44k spectators vs M.City and 53k vs Sassuolo 3 days before)
- The game was on regular TV
- Last game at S. Paolo was Napoli- AC Milan and the next one is Napoli-Juventus so probably they have saved money for these games.

Hey everyone. I don't know where to post this so that people who can do it will see it, so I'm posting it here.

Basically, I was wondering if a Europe Player of the Week thread could be started in the Mains forum?

The idea is that every week (say on Mondays) there is a thread to discuss and vote on who the player of the week was, in all of Europe's top leagues, with a poll of course.

Thoughts?

Probably pointless as 90% of the Caf watch the PL and very little of the other European leagues.

Feck me the Sevilla coach has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
How could he even concentrate on the game?

Think the word is Europa, as in Europa League. Not Europe

Pretty much. Throw in that there's little hope of going through...

This season they're all in on the league

Feck me the Sevilla coach has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
How could he even concentrate on the game?
And he told the players at halftime

Klopp persists with Moreno while he is a total liability. Milner is the better option surely, he also paid £8M for Andrew Robertson to be his third choice left back.

Real madrid might finish second, but they'll turn up in the knockout stages.

Moreno has had a decent season for the most part. I’m not sure what the deal is with Robertson though, doesn’t even get on the bench.

Can't speak for the guy obviously but he might have appreciated having something that'd take his mind off it for a while.

Prostate cancer is very common in old aged men, although he doesn't seem that old. And it's not deadly, in the vast majority of cases.

Seeing Robertson playing for Hull, he's a decent full back and he'll do a job but he's not good enough for a top 6 club in my opinion. He can put in a great ball and he'll run the flank all day long but that's it.

God that's awful. Just had the doctor's finger up me bum - enlarged but nothing more it seems. Must be terrible to be given that diagnosis, hope they get to it in time.

He's a better defender than Moreno and seems more tactically astute. Not as pacey but a better crosser. I've no idea why Klopp prefers Moreno - maybe after yesterday he won't and will give Robertson a proper run at LB.

So there's a high probability that we'll get someone like Real, Bayern or Juve in the next round of 16? If we came second, we could have had to deal with Barca or PSG. It feels like there's no difference who comes first or second in the CL this year. I guess I'd rather we draw Juve because I don't think we could beat Bayern or Real because these teams will pick their form up sooner or later.

Given that it's Klopp at Liverpool and Heynckes once more at Bayern, you know who you're going to get. This is football, after all. It has to happen. See you in the round of 8. ;)

I'm pretty sure that the rumours in Liverpool were that he agreed to play LB for one season but then wanted to concentrate on midfield. A poor decision by both manager and Milner because he'd have a lot more game time at LB !

You’ve gotta give Tottenham credit, they‘re doing much better than most expected.

If Atletico get dumped to Europa, is Griezmann cup tied for the Champions League? I don't think he is but I'm not 100% sure.

A bit because Dortmund is doing much worse.

Dortmund being good or shit had no affect on the fact Spurs steamrollered the current European Champions at Wembley.

And if you watched the Dortmund game last night you'd have realised they are still playing at a high level and played really well last night. It's just Spurs were better and are showing the performance away in Madrid was no fluke.

And we are just the second English side ever to win in that magnificent stadium, it's just not an easy place to go and win, dress it down however you want.

Let me know how many European sides will beat Real Madrid by two clear goals at home this season....Spurs are looking very very good in the CL this season.

Wouldn't he still be cup tied because he played for Atletico in the CL this season, regardless of whethee they're eliminated or not?

Ok, it's because Real Madrid are doing much worse also. Seriously, there's enough merit on Spurs, but circumstances are helping.

I think the rules were changed a couple of years back with regards to players dropping to Europa League.

Edit: never mind it's the other way around. You can register one player for the CL if they've played the group stages of the Europa

Allegri going all-in it seems: 4-2-3-1 without Chiellini and Mandzukic, both injured and replaced by Benatia and Douglas Costa, plus Pjanic - Khedira in the midfield. We will get drubbed tonight and Allegri will switch permanently to a more defensive 4-3-3 with Matuidi imho.

Barca just needs a draw to secure winning the group, hopefully it happens.

As for Tottenham, they've been doing well but Madrid's form is pretty dire and they looked terrible over the past weekend. Could just be a minor blip but they are extremely reliant on Kane. If he doesn't play well the entire team suffers, which is kind of scary.

Nah, going to ethiad will be a dross trip. We need somewhere nice.

I don't know about that. The pressure of the tie and the eventual meltdown somewhere in Manchester would be totally worth it for the neutrals looking for drama.

A 4-2-3-1 is more balanced with Douglas Costa instead of Mandzukic, imo.
