Champions League 24/25 | Matchday 5: November 26-27

They just need another fortunate season on the injury front like last year, keep those two fit, and they'll win the title. Been saying in the Arsenal thread that people have been too quick to jump on their poor form. I still see them as firm favorites for the title, followed by Liverpool.
The problem they have now though is that they have to be pretty much perfect from here on in. Despite City's recent form, Arsenal are still behind them. So even if they clawed us back (which is possible), they're relying on City staying in this slump as well, whilst also keeping Odegaard & Saka fit.

If we were to lose to City on Sunday, with Newcastle and Everton away back to back to come, they might be able to claw it back. Big if though.

Some of tonight’s games are showing that 3 at the back can work and be dominant. Leverkusen, Atalanta and Inter just to name a few. The formation isn’t the problem for everyone that says they don’t like that we’ve changed to it.

You'll beat City but you're probably going to drop points in both of your two games after that so that's your lead down to 5 points already. Besides, I really don't think 9 points is a huge lead to chase down given we're still in November and there are no exceptional teams. City, without Rodri, just won't be consistent enough through the season and between Arsenal and Liverpool, even without any bias, I definitely see the former winning out ultimately. They've gone on big runs in the last two seasons as well and will probably do it again.

You ain’t losing to city. You’ll beat them quite easily in my opinion.

So you are unhappy at the manager appointment in general then I get it. Not sure if he can be blamed for the performance in this game was my kinda point.
I think my post was pretty clear regarding that. I specifically mentioned Tranmere example for people who don't follow our football.

Agreed. However, when everyone are fit and firing they are comfortably the second best side in the country. Number 1 if City don't sort themselves out.
Comfortably the best, to be honest. City without Rodri are a very different side. Arsenal seems to be severely underrated because they had one minor slump.

We are getting exposed on set pieces.

The way Arsenal consistently involve Bukayo Saka in their play is a blueprint for how we should utilise Amad. Every time Saka gets on the ball, there’s a sense of anticipation. Of course, having someone as exceptional as Odegaard pulling the strings helps, but there’s no reason Bruno Fernandes can’t have a similar impact for us, orchestrating play and amplifying Amad’s influence.

Arsenal would be the first team to win the league being this far back after 12 games I think? I think I read that somewhere.

The question is can they even go on a run like that this season. We already are.

I think if we beat City, we'll win at least one of the other two, and at worst draw the other.

Started second half bad.

But Dembele is dumb. Sent off.
Edit; was soft second yellow and first was for protest

Anybody able to tell me if there are any similarities between Atalanta's system and Amorim's 3-4-3?

Eh it's over. Might try to defend for a change or we will ruin our goal average.

Horrific refereeing in the PSG game. Got the ball, not even a yellow for Ousmane.
And he's called off a potentially promising counter for it, too, for no reason. It was a foul for me, even if he made minimal contact with the ball he can't go in like that. But it should not have been a second yellow and neither should the game have been interrupted for it.

I hate them more than Pool and City and I hope they don’t win the league anytime soon.
Not sure I want them winning the league over Liverpool but definitely hate them more than any club in the PL.

Not feeling the champions league anymore. This new format has taken away any type of jeopardy. There's nothing hanging on any of these games. It feels like a pre-season snorefest.

A big bucket of MEH.

If we don't at least win the league I'll have to hate United for ever for taking Amorim from us.

Kidding

Ah bloody hell, what a move that was Bayern, starting from the brilliant touch and pass from Neuer in the middle of the pitch . Should've been a goal.

I find Odegaard to be a proper snide little cnut.
To be fair, you could say the same of any Arsenal player and you wouldn't be wrong.

Apart from Havertz and Gabriel, who are quite big snide cnuts.
