No, just no, that's the sort of flip-flopping that gives rise to such valid concerns. Rules should be clear, precise, meticulous, and CAST IN STONE once a draft starts.

Don't think I don't appreciate the effort you are putting in, it's a great theme with lots of brilliant things (not least the amount of research it calls for) but if you are to run such complex and engaging drafts you should know tempers are going to flare up at some points and the last thing we need is a pyromaniac in charge. I'm not saying you should go soft, rather the opposite is true, but to take hard stances your rules have to be watertight.

There's some points like the Cup competition exclusions that I regret having put in, but reset card is something I really think is necessary.

In a normal draft or a sheep draft there is a possibility of recovery even after a obvious goof up. Here it all ties in that a wrong pick will influence you till the end.

In this draft, the possibility of people getting into trouble is high, possibility of getting dead locked even higher. I can have strict rules, but that just means the manager will lose all interest in continuing to play. Stobz already proved that this early.

So yes, there is a NT card and if you are still stuck (again a high possibility) I want to have a way out for manager and everyone to retain interest. If 2 or 3 managers drop out, it'll ruin the whole draft.

The Criteria makes this draft an exception and I would like to retain a bit of flexibility to cover that. Yes, it introduces a element of vagueness but I really don't think it can be avoided here. If someone really gets stuck and the options are useless drafting vs a reset card, the choice is easier to make for me. I can't think of any other draft where that card makes sense except here!
 
I've come around re the nation card. Picking a solid side isn't easy.

And I agreed when you first defended it, it's bound to happen. The fundamental issue is whether it is by design or accident though, which calls for redress of some form.

What is particularly irksomeis your refusal to draw a line on the sand re: where in football history the restart happens. If someone (don't mean Kazi, it seems he knows about someone we don't) runs like a pac-man through the 60s-50s-40s there's no way in hell they should get a restart in a different decade.

It's just wrong, 70% of the difficulty is precisely that and it's not right on those trying to balance it that someone turns the (potentially necessary and legitimate) reset card into a convenient teleport card. We are not kids here, we all know what we are doing and should put up with the consequences of our actions.
 
fwiw i decided against the reset card, feck it.....the biggest reason why im playing is this part of the game and i will go where the path takes me, if i get stuck with some random guy i can always edit his wikipedia and write that he is one of the best players ever :angel:

Yeah I'm the same. I'd really prefer not to use it. That might change though, if I keep getting ridden around the place like Seabiscuit.
I've had the following payers chained so far only for them to be taken:

Facchetti, Bergomi, Scirea, Figo, Cannavaro, Bergomi, Stoichkov, Costacurta, Stam and Nesta.

I imagine at least 6 of the 9 I have down now will go before I can get them as well. At the moment I'm deliberating taking a risk on an outside the box angle, but if I lose a key player from it, I could be stuck somewhere very random with very few options left!

Yeah looked at Brehme but struggled a bit with his links from a bit of initial research, so thats why i'm interested to see where you go from here. Also have to be careful who i slot on the left side of the marauding Passarella. I know Brehme can play right too but already have the insurance of Bergomi on that side.

Yeah. Passarella and Brehme might not be a good fit. Bergomi gives you the CB FB option too!
 
Feck, had my pick ready all day, just went to double check the rules and saw it says 'main league only', which I think rules out my pick because they played together in Serie B. Fecks sake. Give me a few minutes and I'll try and find somebody else.

I think Serie B should be fine, thought that rule was to disallow cup games. @Edgar Allan Pillow
