Chain Draft (Main Thread)

anto is such a drama queen :lol:. All that moaning and then the poor guy is forced to go with Scirea.
He's got previous for that bullshit. " :( Woe is me. Oh I've just landed Pele and Maradona."

We pick the Monster of Maracana - a sublime midfield general who won the Copa America 1949, no less than 6 São Paulo State Championships, came runner-up in the 1950 WC (part of the TOTM and probably the only player who escaped criticism from that poor team) and skippered Brazil in the 1954 WC and led them to a 1952 Pan-American Championship triump.

where would you put Giggs and Ribery? By that definition they are not wingers they are wide midfielders as wing forward is someone like Stoichkov. Or we have winger category between the two, its to much for my taste so for those all time lists and similar crap i put wide midfielders and wing forwards in winger category.

I used to do the same but over time have settled for WM-Wing-WF, with wing being those who can do both (e.g. Ryan).

:lol: Except that you know it was never in my plans. I had not even looked at Inter links to the future.

It was late last night that after the red mist was gone I decided "OK, Facchetti played up to 1979, there must be some fecker who gets me to Scirea before anyone else and I'll take it from there". Was surprised the fecker was actually such a good player TBH.

@mazhar13, Tassoti is a great pick, I had him noted down as a very handy option. Won't bother try plan steps ahead though. Pointless.

Ahhh, no way! As soon as you posted "so many options, dunno who to pick" this was the first name that came to mind. Whenever Falcao and that Roma team is mentioned it makes me think of this guy, and here I was thinking I guess he'll pick someone more fashionable than stick up for him.

Sweet, sweet pick.
It was di Bartolomei who made me want to enter the Chain Draft. After reading up on him and watching some clips, I really wanted him to be represented in the draft scene. I am very excited to incorporate him into my team.

Prefer the shorter list without links if possible. Will be easier when having to scroll through posts on the phone

i thought only name of the clubs, its looks way to long with year periods....

Gonna be some huge C+P if you put the club and years in every time.

Yup. Too confusing.

Just mention the link in the post when you are making the picks. No need to add to the list.

I need to give Cal time till next pick before I kick him off. We'll skip after 8 hrs and carry on with the draft. If he's not back by his 4th pick, his slot will be freed up.

Gio / Stobz... If you guys want to be in the queue if his slot does open up..... Please pick from Rivaldo and submit your 2nd and 3rd picks to me via pm. If Cal doesn't show up before his time, I'll replace with yours.

Always been like that. This draft in particular though could be quite problematic for restarts.

On the one hand anyone restarting has limited options, but for the rest there's also the problem that instead of potentially getting stuck someone has a free shot at several consecutive picks which could really put their plans in disarray. We are all picking keeping an eye on where others could get within two picks. Actually, it already would be a problem for some if they pick and suddenly Cal? gets back and makes a belated pick that puts a spanner in the works (one they technically should have been aware of).

Personally, if a manager drops out at this stage I'd just carry on with 15. You have to preserve the integrity of it for those engaged, not for those who aren't. Someone just gets a free ticket to the next round. I sure wouldn't mind, games are dull as feck anyway.

That's a great point and that situation has to be avoided in this draft format.

Hehe, and he picked as I wrote that... In any case, point still stands, no restarting bollocks, just drop managers/teams if they go AWOL.

That's a great point and that situation has to be avoided in this draft format.

It's bound to happen and, as I said, it's not fair on those keeping track and doing things in a timely fashion if someone then comes in and makes a pick out of turn which, had they known about, would have led them to act differently.

There's of course the usual gentleman's agreement to carry on waiting a few hours (particularly when things have moved quicker than usual and the eight hours were at an inconvenient time). But once that fails I reckon what preserves the integrity/fairness of it is that the turn is missed, to be recovered at the end once everyone is done (i.e. a 13th or even 14th turn).

@Edgar Allan Pillow

Good pick @diarm, it was painful to overlook him, would fit me like a glove, but Scirea more so.

I knew you would be torn. The beauty was that I didn't really mind which of them I picked up! If I'd kept Gentile I might have preferred Scirea but without him, Tardelli is :drool:.

I was hoping I could squeeze in Gentile as well next but the dates I looked at originally were wrong. Himself and Tacconi overlapped in 83-84. The Claudio dream is finally dead. :(

@Edgar Allan Pillow

Please clarify a few things:

1. Does Europa League/Uefa Cup count towards the 15?
2. National link, do they have to have played together at all? Eg can I go from Balotelli to Baresi?

That's not how i thought we'd go about it re mentioning clubs.

How about just writing the name in the list like normal and under the blocked list provide links to the evidence? This way people can easily contest picks if necessary.
