Shame we’re aren’t more like Brighton
Or just illustrates that we aren’t a bad off as people line to make out. Look at Chelsea. We're 7th and 7 points off top 4. And 7th flatters us.
Is the glass half empty or half full?

Chelsea have been better than the table suggests (5th by xg etc). We're the opposite.Or just illustrates that we aren’t a bad off as people line to make out. Look at Chelsea.

We've been mugged off by the players and manager. To be fair, the way we've been mugged off by some posters you'd think we're 15 points off top 4.
Sure. It's still outstanding that despite this accusation, we are aren't a mile off the top with an injury plagued squad, a completely uncertain ownership situation, our top scorer being completely out of form and a couple of other side distractions with Antony & Sancho. We've been mugged off by the players and manager.
How have I got this completely wrong. I'll bow out from that talk nowNo he got surgery the first time round, he just had a recurrance of the same injury.

We are a mile off the top (13 points tomorrow). Don't let grinding out a few wins against the bottom 6 fool you.Sure. I understand your relentless negativity, but I won't go into tomorrow thinking we've lost before a ball is kicked. We are a mile off the top (13 points tomorrow). Don't let grinding out a few wins against the bottom 6 fool you.
We'll be 9th and 10 points off top 4 after West Ham beat us.
Happy New Year.We are a mile off the top (13 points tomorrow). Don't let grinding out a few wins against the bottom 6 fool you.
More than you believe. We'll be 9th and 10 points off top 4 after West Ham beat us.
City's best player has been missing all season.I understand your relentless negativity, but I won't go into tomorrow thinking we've lost before a ball is kicked.
In any case - if other clubs had the injuries we did, I can imagine them losing a lot more points. Pep losing Rodri or Haaland and Ange losing a couple of his key players are testament to that, albeit over less gameweeks.
Dread to think where we'll be by then.Happy New Year.
And you think thats worse than the shit we dealt with? We don't even have a midfielder close to that calibre.City's best player has been missing all season.
Chelsea have been better than the table suggests (5th by xg etc). We're the opposite.
If we get a decent offer for either of Varane or Casemiro & turn it down for ‘a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.’ then we might aswell fold as an institution.Don’t be daft, it’s still half to play. We could get a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.
Malpractise
We have Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, McT, Martial, Sancho etc and dare I say Onana who should all be sold before Cas and Rapha.
I would give them another season after this. Add some young exciting talent to their experience. Build some momentum instead of ripping everything apart every few years.
6th is mid table now? We are 3pts off the top 4

My evening is brightened knowing they're worse off at least. The cup is definitely full when comparing to Chelsea, they're in an absolute mess, being well behind us, having spent about 4 times the amount.
And have a squad that makes ours look brimming with balance and quality.

What would a decent offer for either one be ??If we get a decent offer for either of Varane or Casemiro & turn it down for ‘a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.’ then we might aswell fold as an institution.
EtH’s starting 11s are often full of players from the Jose period, what is daft is saying we rip things up every few years.
Paying all their wages would be a start. What would a decent offer for either one be ??
That's the best case scenario in my mind ... Saudi paying a fee & picking up their wages would be a good deal.Paying all their wages would be a start.
I don’t like banding around transfer fees as, let’s be honest we don’t actually know exactly what people pay but if we hit the lottery & Saidi offered us enough to buy a younger player that fits a revised timeline whilst removing the wage I think the club has to take it.
I think we bought him for £60m+£10m add ons on a 4 year contract. If we assume £60m then his book value is £37.5m by January. Anything close to that would be a great offer to get us out out of it.What would a decent offer for either one be ??
It will be interesting to see how active the Saudi's are in the January window. He is a perfect fit for them.I think we bought him for £60m+£10m add ons on a 4 year contract. The ‘sell all the players’ perspective is a zero sum game in the end, I’m not really sure what people expect to happen if we replace all our current players with different players who aren’t as good, in the hope one day they can be as good as or better than the players we currently have. Despite knowing that most don’t ever fulfil their potential. If we get a decent offer for either of Varane or Casemiro & turn it down for ‘a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.’ then we might aswell fold as an institution.

A zero sum end game is thinking me wanting to sell Varane &/or Casemiro amounts to ‘sell all the players’.The ‘sell all the players’ perspective is a zero sum game in the end
I wasn't referring to your post, I was referring to the people that are insistent things will improve if we just sell most of our players. As for Casemiro and Varane, they both should be sold to Saudi Arabia if we can. Cash in and buy some players that actually want it.A zero sum end game is thinking me wanting to sell Varane &/or Casemiro amounts to ‘sell all the players’.
Maybe you missed the subsequent post, one above yours, where I say he’s sale should result in a purchase.
So we sell Cas and Rapha, what will we win?If we get a decent offer for either of Varane or Casemiro & turn it down for ‘a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.’ then we might aswell fold as an institution.
We are a football club. We play football to WIN. feck ffp. feck money. Let’s win football matches, these players (especially Casemiro) will help us do that.We should be taking any big Saudi money while we can. Liverpool will likely sell Salah in the summer for mega money and be in a great position FFP wise.
So we sell Cas and Rapha, what will we win?
A finished Casemiro won't help us do anything next season and beyond. We've seen enough since March. Unfortunately you need money to buy better players and the £30m+ a season Casemiro costs us could be far better spent. We are a football club. We play football to WIN. feck ffp. feck money. I’ve said the season is done, we aren’t winning anything with or without them.So we sell Cas and Rapha, what will we win?
