Very good game from him today, strange he still misplaces some easy passes (while compliting more complicated ones) but he was very important to lanch United after almost every recovery. The triangle he formed with Varane and Martinez was very solid (let's hope Varane isn't out for too long). The goal was the cherry on the cake. MOTM easily (before the goal it was a tie with Martinez for me).

Might sound odd to some but thank feck de Jong wanted to stay at Barça. Cas is exactly what we needed.
His first 3/4 games were somewhat concerning, looked sluggish, but the transformation in the last 2 weeks in massive. His reading of the game is next level, takes so much pressure off the back line, he is stopping so much from getting through to the CB's. Use of the ball is getting sharper by the game and he is even being an unexpected goal threat.

Love him! Funny how I never really cared about him as a Madrid player, but he's been magic since he settled in after the first few Shaky games. I pay extra attention to his decision making when he's on the ball, or the ball is in his general area of the pitch and he almost always makes the right decisions - even if some don't come off perfectly.

If only we could have both. I actually think what we need the most as a team, after a striker, is someone who can grab the ball in midfield and drive it forward, like Kovacic did in the 15 minutes after he came on today. There's no one better than FdJ in doing that.
As far as a defensive screen for midfield goes though, Casemiro is the best in the business.
He's been a goal threat his entire career. Not unexpected to those of us who saw him play.

Great from Casemiro, a high level player with a celebration and warrior spirit deserving of a good end to the season but with Varane injured and our finishing it would be sad to fizzle out into 5th or 6th with such a good player in Cas with us. Our squad with so much money spent is on a tightrope and needs another load spending.
It's funny that we needed someone in that position for years and still weren't looking to fill it and then He falls into our lap out of nowhere. Excellent first half and steady second.
