Bundesliga 2017/18

Only morons care exlusively about the title fight in a competition with multiple aspects.

If you have a connection with a certain league sure. Games are fun to watch in vacuum and the football is rather sophisticated but only morons take it personally enough to insult someone on a message board. Carry on young fella

Who did I insult? I stated a fact:confused:

So did I, and if you don't think competitive balance matters in regards to attracting viewers you're nuts. It's a shame that a league that is such a great watch is so comically skewed in favor of a single team and does itself such a disservice in terms of attracting viewers. Only morons don't understand how competition makes a sport product better.

Is it competition what makes somebody watch a team? Because usually people are attracted by teams and players rather than by the league and the competition itself. The competiton factor lets me look into a match 5 minutes before end when an underdog is on the winning street...

I wouldn't say usually it just depends, but fans with no rooting interest do want to see competition. This year the Premier League winner was decided months ago (City's gap is still much smaller than Bayern's) but for the most part you get league games that have the feel of cup finals. In Spain you only get two a season but how special are those games when Barca and Real are neck and neck? You don't have that element in the BL and it does take something away as a neutral fan.

There is a good CL race in the Bundesliga this season.

The football is great but I'm not really a casual fan so I do nothing for the league's brand. The year Bayern and Dortmund played in the CL final should at the very least have been the dawn of an epic yearly two club battle for league supremacy, which would have done wonders for the BL globally. Instead, Gotze, Lewandowski and Hummels end up at Bayern. That would be like United buying Aguero, Silva and Kompany in a time span of just a few years after City won their title under Mancini. Utterly absurd right?

Really looking forward to the big game today. Should be a cracker with absolutely horrific defending as usual.

Citys gap to second is 16, Bayerns is 19. Not exactly much smaller.

Hamburg relegated.
Still early days but it does look bad, agreed. I actually endured the first 20mins or so of their game today and Mainz definitely looked the weaker team. But awful game of football really, long balls on both sides, hardly three consecutive passes. 1/10.

How's it early days?! They need to win about six matches to just make the play off and they can hardly score a goal.

Bayern Munich away next week so that's another one to chalk off as that will be the usual 8-0 I presume.

They're just having the season now we and Sunderland had in the premier league. Survive relegation by the skin of your teeth year on year but eventually there's one season where you can't cheat the system anymore.

Reus is amazing. Injury-wise he´s basically Sturridge, but he comes back each time like nothing happened. If he can stay healthy and play a great World Cup, with one year left on his contract, there will be fireworks.

They are trailing by 8 points with 9 rounds to go. Win 5 of those and they are in with a chance imo.

What happens though when Mainz, Wolfsburg and Bremen win another 3-4 games in the run in....

I think Koln got more of a chance of making the play off and that's pretty slim.

Cologne plays against Stuttgart today. They got the lead through Pizarro but in the 45th minute they got two goals from Gomez (the second seems to have been a big mistake of Timo Horn) so its 1:2 now.

1-3 now. As I said a slim chance for Koln.

Bottom 2 is done and dusted, probably Mainz in the play offs.

They`ve won 4 out of 25, I don`t see them winning 5 out of 9.

Hamburgs record over their past ten league matches has been W0, D3, L7. . . .Scored 5, conceded 15.

I'd say they're finished also. Yesterday was a must win and they couldn't do it.

Köln are putting up a great fight since December but it'll be too late for them also.

Heynckes starts Juan Bernat as Coman replacement today. Well. Bernat isn't particularly fast and doesn't play particularly good passes.

4-0 FT. Müller had a great game again, apart from forcing the own goal for 1-0 he gave the assist for the 3-0 and scored the fourth himself.
