Bundesliga 2017/18

I'm sure you look back in horror at the time where you dominated the league at will.

The closest we ever got to Bayern style boring dominance was between 99 and 2001 when we won two titles with ease.

Of course we enjoyed it but looking back it was a good thing we weren't allowed to just completely steamroller the league like Bayern do now.

Pulisic is a terrific player. So good in tight spaces. Would love to see him here

I admitted that in my reply to you earlier, we used to get a lot of players from our own league back when we were dominant as well. But it never quite was at the level you operate.

And at what level do we operate? The players you have listed joined us within a span of 4 years. We bought Kimmich when he was still a 2nd league player. Nobody even knew Rudy's name over here until the Confed Cup. We are buying way more players from abroad then from our own league.
Ironically, the claim of us hoovering up the best domestic players had a lot more validity before our current spell of dominance started.

I hoped that Dortmund will finally compete this year, but now it's pretty obvious that Bayern is going to win the league for the sixth time in row. if they don't mess up the transfers in coming years, they can easily win 10 consecutive titles.

And at what level do we operate?

You have such an unique position in your domestic league that players will almost always want to join you, and often they run down their contracts to do so. That is a totally different level than we operated at.

I wish we had that pull in our domestic market.

But you can buy players for 100m+ fees to compensate for that, we cannot.

Yes you can, it is just that you don't have to. As far as I am aware Bayern's finances are very sound, and also you have a high wage cap.

We might see a splurge in the immediate future when you are looking to replace Robben and Ribery, two mercurial talents like it would take to replace them doesn't come cheaply. I have no idea if there is anyone in the BL you could get, but on the "world market" that is easily some 100m talents.

22 days ago:
BVB 19 points
Bayern 14 points
Hoffenheim 14 points
Leipzig 13 points
Hannover 12 points
Augsburg 11 points

now - 4 matches further
Bayern 26 points
Leipzig 22 points
BVB 20 points
Schalke 20 points
Hannover 18 points
Frankfurt 18 points

I do not think it is that special that Bayern wins 4 matches. So the way Heynckes works makes me believe in more on international ground. It is the BVB that just had 1 point from the last 4 matches that is more decisive.

Well, Coman seems to come along nicely, so we only have to find one. Apart from Pulisic I don't see a suitable prospect in our league who could step into Robben's shoes. And when he'll become available, we won't be able to match the bids of the PL giants.
My bet is on another young french hotshot, they seem to grow these on trees nowadays.

Reckon you might try for Carrasco, but he won't be cheap.

Dortmund is a completely joke at the moment, Bartra :D

Bosz is done. Koeman, De Boer, Bosz, it's a bad year for Dutch coaches.

2-1, Dortmund's system is suicidal. One long ball and Stuttgart have a 1-on-1.
