If we end up with neither Bruno nor Dybala we’ve properly fecked this up. Only thing I can think of is we’ve been assured by Pogba he’s staying - but imagine if he leaves too, we’d be Wolves and Everton level again

Even with Dybala, Fernandes and Maguire, we wouldn't be challenging for the title. Look at the difference in the quality of our first team compared to City and Liverpool, we needed to bridge the gap in quality 3 seasons ago with City and now Liverpool have become much, much better too.
People need to start being realistic in our expectations of our team, it'll only benefit you when we dont achieve the finish you wanted.

Was Bruno on that list? Was there a name ahead of him?
Was Maguire on that list? Perhaps he was third choice to Koulibaly and De Ligt?
The answer to why is it almost the end of the transfer window and none of those names have been signed is not that Ole is happy with the squad.

We needed midfielders, especially creative one. We needed a CB.
It is frustrating to see similar mistakes to previous windows where transfers are dragging on after having been assured by our CEO that we could come in strong and do as we pleased in the market.

Ole does nothing at all that could support that. He continues to play Matic and Lingard and Mata, we are not in the market for any midfielders at all - we are acting like the squad is in no need of major improvement.
If he wanted to win the league, he would have made it a priority to sign midfielders (it is impossible to play without midfield).
If Sporting use our club to squeezze more money from Spurs I'm ok with that but if we really miss him for them I'll be super pissed of Woodward.

We might not see Bruno as a primary target but Longstaff has nine caps to his name. We already have a raw Dan James who for doesn't even look ready as Greenwood imo. Is Longstaff going to be ready to be come in to Utd to anchor our midfield. That's a lot of pressure and expectations to put on the lad. He might be very good but to sign him and him alone would be dangerous. Also, Don't we think the the lack of interest in Bruno is a bit odd when you look at the lack of goals in this Utd team. Pogba carries out midfield. He is the only one linking the midfield to the attack. Surely we need to get better quality in midfield. We can't rely on Matic for another season his legs are gone. We need a CB but for the fee and the time it is taking why not have back up targets. Maguire is good but 80-90m - not for me. Nathan Ake is only 24 and is improving all the time. We could have got Alderweireld for 25m a few weeks ago. I refuse to believe Maguire for 90m is the only CB good enough for Utd.
The club just don't have any structure or plan. They should have targets but they should also have back up targets. We've left ourselves in a position where we need 3-4 players within one week. At this moment I don't see Utd finishing top 4. We are a CB, CM, DM a LB short. We could do with a ST depending on what happens with Lukaku.
We actually have a lot of CMs but the quality isn't there, this will have been addressed by Ole to Judge/Woodward. I actually think if we signed Fernandes, our midfield wouldn't look all that bad, especially with the great form of McTominay.
I understand your frustration on the CM front, I'm the same believe me but this is a transition period, it cant all be done in one swoop. Plus, we signed a CM last summer for £52m in Fred and he's hardly pulled up trees, maybe we're going to give him the chance to prove his worth this season before making a decision.
Exactly. If we are truly competing for a player with Tottenham with no extra connections, we'll get the player 99% of the time. It just seems lot of the caf has been brainwashed to believe we are a small-time club by the constant media trashing they consume without thinking.
