It was a sarcastic comment. Hence the marks. Bruno simply had a very good game. However, I chose to mock those whose first response to Pogba having a good game just 24 hours earlier was to dissect/attack the quality of Bulgaria, who of course did not choose to question the might of Israel.

Personally, I have no desire to pick holes in the performance. That’s how football works. Bruno played well. ‘It was only Israel’ would be silly to point out. We can all see it was only Israel.
Ah. Yeah was not living in the pogba thread so didn't see people saying only Bulgaria. But anyway... why do people make it a Bruno vs Pogba thing? Both are world class players. We have both for now.

What the feck is a fanboy?

Whatever ‘this’ is, it depends on how I feel. If I see inconsistent arguments, I may or may not mention it. Depends on what I had for breakfast.
Not all heroes wear capes and all that, you carry on the good fight brother.

Rashford vs Martial
Something I have noticed while following United twitter is that there is a deep division between fans of Martial/Pogba and Rashford/Bruno.
I don’t think there is a single player who is universally loved by our fans in the squad.

Team Zlatan . Cavani no thanks.

No one loves Amad yet. He gots it all to prove.
No doubt but the youngsters, rightfully so mostly get unconditional support. It’s one of the few things I genuinely like about are fan base.

Rarely see anyone have a bad thing to say about Mason. What’s Cavani ever done to you?

Donny van de Beek while he was on the bench.

Yeh Greenwood has taken a fair bit of stick this season, particularly in the first half. Even now he doesn’t really get as much credit or hype as he deserves.

Nothing but I am putting him up against Zlatan because we can't like everyone here

had his few moments, nice one touch passes, most dangerous shot before any goal scored. But also he was quite quiet in game. But its not easy to breakdown low block with danilo and william behind
Thanks for summarizing.

How did he play yesterday?

He didn’t really....forgot he was on the pitch at times, seems to struggle for Portugal perhaps playing second fiddle to Ronaldo doesn’t help, he drifts and takes up spaces we normally see Bruno in.

I thought he was lively, especially in the second half. Had a cross Ronaldo should have scored an easy tap in from. Also had a hockey assist with his defence-splitting pass that led to the first goal. Jota was ridiculously bad yesterday, if he had been on the same wavelength as his teammates then both Ronaldo and Bruno cpuld very well have scored.

Jota was absolutely terrible....I don’t watch a lot of Liverpoolbut surely he can’t play like that for them.

He created 3 chances yesterday. Thought he played quite well really. Had a good shot in the second half and created the CR7 chance in the first half that he should’ve buried.

Bruno doing Bruno things yesterday. Shame he’s not the o penalty taker. Would have been a perfect end of season Bruno performance otherwise.

Hopefully they drop their defensively poor set up CM next match and we can see a Neves or Moutinho.

Never seen a player that put up these sorts of stats recieve so much flack

I'd suggest you direct it towards other players in our attack. When we have standout performer, they always seem to get all the negative focus as soon as they don't carry the entire team for a game

He was extremely selfish too. On two occasions he went for personnal glory
Yes totally agree. Really poor decision making and pure selfishness. It surprised me, I didn’t think of him as that type of player.

Maybe he’s a moments player....I was taking an overall view of the game, thought he was quiet. Except for moments I forgot he was playing quite often.

He was good yesterday as usual. All of Portugal's first half chances came from a cross or pass from him and the first goal came as a result of a nice pass from him too.

The problem for me was that he was playing too far forward. William and Danilo could not get the ball to him with Hungary sitting back and pressing like crazy.

Don’t know if this has been noted but his next game will be his 70th match of the season. Absolutely absurd, and clearly a testament to his fitness. But the fact that he could feasibly play 75 games in 10 months if Portugal go all the way just seems crazy to me. I don’t see how any player could play a 70-75 game season and then come out in top form for the next one.

He was played out of position, almost second striker. Yet he created chances.

Very weird to watch. Portugal coach surely almost messed up. Bruno should be playing more central role, like Pogba played for France.

I know this will go down like a lead balloon. He's a top player but his use of the ball is very poor. If he isn't scoring a a brilliant goal or making a killer pass, he can almost be a liability. This assessment isn't based on just this match but also his time here. I remember Sporting fans saying it before he arrived. I think he's sometimes detrimental to our play.

Him and Pogba as our best players is a huge problem. We desperately need a midfielder with a much higher bottom level than those two and who shows up in big matches.

That's basically what we were missing though, a risk taker. It's why we kept drawing.

I think he is very much in the Rashford camp where end product masks all other deficiencies. A couple of which you mentioned. His efficiency and his lack of cohesion in a more team based system. He reminds me a bit of Coutinho for Liverpool where most good things came from him or through him but a more team based approach gave them much more success.

This is not to say he is a bad player or should be sold or anything like that. He has been very important to our team however he has aspects of his game he really should improve, number one being passing ( efficiency)for me.

I stopped watching after the first half but I thought he was having a garbage game today.
