Holt is fantastic, especially in the last episode. Stuff like:
-"theres no time for everybody to have a turn" when Boyle tries to say what hes thankful for
-The way he chews the gum

Overall agreed, great character.

Just got onto watching Season 3... this was definitely the highlight so far, feckin' hysterical. This and "We're Done. Goodbye" were brilliant.

Holt is absolutely amazing though... everything he did in the Halloween episiode, from yelling at Amy's breasts to shouting "OF COURSE WE'RE LOOKING FOR AL YOU IMBECILE!" was comedy gold.

Started watching this few weeks ago, now on S3E05, and reading this thread I am surprised there isn't any criticism for Amy Santiago character. I find her awful, really boring and easily worst character in the show. Also don't find Gina interesting at all.

Everyone else is great.

Now when I think about it, maybe I am sexist.

Amy is the counter balance to Jake's puerility. Without her, Peralta's character would make less of an impact. She's not compelling herself, but she is necessary. If everyone at the police station was kooky, the show wouldn't make any sense.

She is kooky too though, she's actually weirder than Jake though more professional. All of them are extremely silly and unrealistic characters, it doesn't bother me at all. The only characters I don't like are Hitchcock and Scully, just because I think it's lazy to have two fat/stupid characters do nothing but be fat and stupid at all times

I take your point. I actually think Boyle's character is being overplayed as well, recently. His sycophancy has become a caricature of itself.

They have their comedic moments. I guess they are 'furniture' in the show, but that aside, this series is as good as the last. One of the best things on TV, albeit silly shit.

Yeah they're horrible characters. It's like they tried to make a Gerry Gergich type character and failed miserably with lazy jokes and writing. Plus I think the actors are bad too.
