Television Brooklyn Nine Nine

Watched the latest one last night - with the bet and the crap date - and thought it was brilliant.

Took a few eps to get going but I think it's good.

I just hope they're not about to start a cliched 'will they/won't they' love angle between Peralta and Santiago.

Best comedy on TV at the moment?

Always find each episode consistently funny and enjoyable, a bit like the Parks and Rec of old. More people need to watch it!

It's great, like you say every episode is properly funny.

Samberg is brilliant, in particular.

Yep, as is Braugher, he really pulls off the dry monotone comedy excellently.

I think the best thing is that there's no characters I don't like, which is important for a comedy.

I like all the main ones, but Hitchcock and Scully are absolutely terrible and drag it down. It can and does do so much better than "fat old men are stupid and gross" which is all they boil down to

If one of the fecking Big Bang lads gets another Emmy ahead of Braugher after his monologue at the bar the episode before last, there's no justice.

My current favourite programme. As @Cina says, there isn't one character I don't not like, which I have found is the case in all of my other favourite comedy shows.

Is the UK and Irish broadcasting up to date with the American episodes?

The latest episode with Eva Longoria was absolutely bloody hilarious. Really was a laugh a minute that episode, best of the season so far

After watching the latest episode, I am going to say this is the funniest comedy I am watching at the moment. So far this season, every episode has made me laugh out loud, and they have made each character even better than the first season, and that includes Hitchcock and Scully who are the weak link. Braugher has an honourable mention, I absolutely love him.

Apparently I'm the only one who couldn't get into this. Watched a couple on the plane when there weren't many options.

Like most of these things, it's best to watch from the start and get to know the characters.

I wouldn't say it's laugh out loud funny, but it's amusing and a decent enough watch. It borrows a lot from Scrubs which is no bad thing IMO.

I'm only watching the first season of this. Over half way through it now. I like it. It's no Arrested Development or anywhere close but definitely better than Scrubs and the like. I will keep watching. Terry Crews is great. Andy Samberg is surprisingly funny and Chelsea Perretti is under used. I like her character.

I've been watching them all again lately. So good.

It's weird that in one of these shows I like all the characters. And whilst I love the inside/developed character jokes of something like Parks & Recreation, it's nice to have a show that's pretty much immediately funny without meta references.

"I found an extra place setting for your psychic."
"Strange, she said you wouldn't be able to."
"Because she's a fraud. You need to start seeing my psychic."

Two seasons in and I still don't love it. Terry is the only character I feel any warmth towards really and Jake, and increasingly Gina, annoy me. It's probably unfair to compare it to Parks but it's way, way off that quality.

Yeah. It's miles better.

One of the funnier shows on the telly, along with modern family.

I feel it'd be hard to enjoy the show if you dislike Jake. Even now with the other characters further developed.

Hmm i'm surprised by that, my friends all agree with me about Jake. I find Andy Sambergs performance to be very needy, like he's desperate for the laughs. Holt is probably the character I laugh at the most which is odd because most of his laughs are against Peralta but I think he could be funnier if he had someone better playing opposite.

I don't hate it or anything, I just think it's a bit average and disappointing.

Probably my favourite comedy going (Actually It's always Sunny is up there). P+R is probably one of the least funniest ones for me personally, don't really see the attraction of it.

I do like this. However IMO it is very hit and miss. This week's episode was great ('Charles the mike is on') but I think some weeks are quite poor.

Parks and Rec from season 2 to about the middle of 5 is some of the funniest American television I've ever seen. Probably only behind The Simpsons in terms of American comedy for me
