Brighton and Hove Albion 2024/25 season

Up to 4th place, pending Arsenal's game with Chelsea.

Fully expect them to drop off as the season goes on but even still, well-run club is well-run.

Not sure why they didn't start Baleba, their CM options first half were not good enough to get within five yards of Man. City.

So much talent in final third though. Joao Pedro proved last year he's a top level prem attacker so no surprise his cameo tonight was good. Matt O'Riley also excellent so with those two and Rutter, Mitoma, Welbeck playing some of his best football in probably a decade and others like Adingra still developing they're going to be very dangerous playing once a week.

Squad with more depth and quality than they had last season trying to juggle domestic and Europe.

Not sure we will drop off, we have such a deep squad after our summer of spending.

You've converted to being an Arsenal fan now?!;)

Agree Baleba made all the difference, but he was just coming back from injury which is why he didn’t start.

Think Mitomas return from injury and Baleba and Ayari's rise have had such an impact on that team. Big upgrade in midfield to Gilmour who isnt a bad player himself.

Their squad feels huge with players largely in and around the same level, Baleba looks a standout though

I think theres too many teams that can and will take points off you to avoid a rough patch. You'll be in the mix when all's said and done I'm sure but i'd be surprised if it was as high as fourth.

It would be interesting just to list the players against LIVERPOOL and Man CITY this week. About 24 different players. Solly March was not fit enough.

@The Boy not here to gloat (much), just had a feeling we’d win the game yesterday. Obviously I headed over to NSC for some Sunday evening entertainment afterwards and was surprised by the negative sentiment towards FH, already ‘OUT’ threads and the like on there. Assume (like with most forums) that’s coming from a noisy minority?

A noisy young minority, who have no conception of the club pre Poyet. That said our defence is a bit of a mess and continues to be, he has his work cut out and can get us playing some glorious football, but results like yesterday, Wolves and Leicester are tough to take.

All well and good playing canon fodder like United but today they're getting torn apart by a half decent side

They seem more interested in stockpiling talented players than being good nowadays.

We're only in here because none of us can be arsed creating the game week thread  lazy bastards, the lot of us.

But yeah, they're getting bummed today.

Have nothing against them but as a complete bogey team to United this is immensely satisfying. Then again, football is a bogey sport to United.

I know they have injuries but what on earth are they doing playing Hinselwood and Rutter as actual CMs against what Forest have got there? Neither have a clue how to track Gibbs White.

Is the hatred for Brighton here just the fact that they always do well against you lot or is there some sort of rivalry there?

I really enjoy seeing Hurzeler's face after getting humiliated. He was a bit too cocky coming into the league.

Must be it because what other reason is there to dislike Brighton? Small club that operates very smart, develops players, sells those players for big money and shows some decent football from time to time.

They are basically the opposite of Manchester United.

For me yes, absolute pain the arse! Would love for them to fall away and be relegated in the next few years. Seem too well run for that unfortunately. As you can tell I’m a petty bastard!
