He hasn't. He beat you lot 6-0 for a start. He does it when he needs to.

He has. Sometimes they can be brutally efficient. But for the resources he has had everywhere he's gone since Porto, he has never aspired to anything more than winning. That makes him a great manager but he won't be remembered decades from now.

He was the director of football wasn't he?

Yep, but his period of success hasn't been brief. He's been a very good manager for over a decade winning trophies at most clubs.

He's a manager, they all talk shite. He ground out 1-0s at the start of the season. Of course you can't attack everyone gung-ho, but there's a balance between doing what Jose does and throwing everyone forward.

He was the manager first, then director of football.

Shame about the sour grapes today really. Not becoming of an obviously very good manager.

Maybe he realises he only has himself to blame. Naive football from Liverpool today. If you're holding on to a lead, which at 0-0 Liverpool essentially were in the title race, you have to close out the game at critical moments. And the 5 minutes before half time is certainly critical.

What's that supposed to mean? All I said in this thread is that it bothered me.

He's obviously going to be remembered decades down the line as a serial winner. If his career continues along this path he might just break a few records along the way as well. If anything, his style of football is what will be forgotten.

What? Ferguson, Jose and Arsene all have had sour grapes after losses before.

How on earth was he tactically naive today? All Chelsea did was defend and it was a Gerrard mistake which gifted them a goal. Apart from that it didn't look like Chelsea were gonna score at all

Didn't that young Chelsea centre back miss a header from about 3 yards out?
And they did win 2-0 not 1-0 remember.

Brenton thought he'd steamroller Chelsea like everyone else. He needed another approach of being more cautious.

Like the other poster said, a draw would have meant they'd need to slip up away at Palace or home to Newcastle.

Now they're at City's mercy. And City are a machine at their best

He'll be remember as someone who spent lots of money to play dour football. And was really good at it. And was a prick.

We'll finish ahead of you and Arsenal next season. Again.
Such a regular occurrence isn't it?

With the proposed outlay we will spend this summer, possessing a capable manager and backroom staff opposed to having a coaching team out of their depth should mean we compete with Liverpool in the league next season. This isn't factoring in no European football to contend with which should prove a huge advantage to how we fair in the domestic cups next season, as it has for Liverpool this season. I don't think that is something that can be undermined, our lack of cohesion and continuity in the side this season has been a huge detriment to us also.

You think Jose Mourinho won't be remembered in decades from now? It's fairly amusing.

The "he's made a career out of negativity" thing is nonsense too. It's only a thing because people annoyed by losing to these tactics on the occasions he employs them, throw their toys out of the pram...Like this.

He made his career winning the CL with a "lesser" team, then going straight into the PL and winning back to back championships. The negativity label stuck well after that.

Well, obviously he will. Sloppy wording since I'm distracted at the moment. But I think that someone with his abilities and his resources should be trying to play better football. He won't be remember as Wenger, who had a much bigger impact despite less trophies.

Teams don't often go from 7th to title challengers because they don't have European football. This season isn't the norm.

You talk great foolishness. History remembers the winners.

Agreed. We will back to the norm next season meaning United will be challenging for the title.

Wenger had an impact on English football not on world football ala someone like Sacchi, so I don' think he would remembered outside of England. Jose would be remembered simply because of his trophy haul, he is well on course to finish as the most successful manager of all time. I think someone like Pep would retire much earlier than Jose.

He'll be remember as winning lots of trophies. But also spending lots of money, moving from club to club, playing anti-football, and generally being an asshole to everyone.
You started well but tailed off.

Fans of all of his club bar Madrid still love him. I doubt he cares that rival fans hate him.

Eboue you are just jealous, deep down you want Jose to be in charge instead of Arsene, but do not want to admit it

It's like you have been friend-zoned by a beautiful supermodel. You know and everyone around you knows it's better to move on to someone else who loves you. But you are in denial and would rather wait even though your friend won't put out, like ... ever

 I would never accept Mourinho as Arsenal manager. A man's got to have a code.
