Go on Brenton

So Rodgers has finally filled that gaping hole they've had since Torres left.

Some of the comments floating around Twitter are spectacular.

"Not surprised to hear about Brendan Rodgers having an affair with a ******. He's always put a strong emphasis on ball retention."

I really fecking dislike Brenton. Everything about him. How overrated he is, the way he speaks, his stupid fecking face. Doesn't he have one of those faces you just have to slap?! I can't wait until he is sacked.

Definitely punchable. Still, this ****** business might be a saving grace. Not least if he came out as a ****** himself. Imagine him in the dugout. Dinner gown, make-up, blonde wig - it'd be magical.

Why do you think he's overrated?

Everyone banged on about how good he was at Swansea but they actually have looked better without him. As a Liverpool fan you'll probably think he's the next Sir Alex or some exaggerated shit like Joe Cole being the new Messi. Truth is, he's not. Liverpool were no worse before he took charge and they will be no worse when he leaves. You'll be entitled to say they've started this season well, but when May dawns, Liverpool will be nowhere.

And he always tries using big words in his interviews to look smart because he knows that the fine people of liverpool won't know what any of it means. Here's the secret, he's just flattering to deceive you. He's speaking shit.

Wow, didn't realise how many utd fans had our club's best interest at heart. That mean overrated shit spouting Brendan. I mean what has that Roman ever done for us. ;)

Your the first argument is laughable. Everton look better without Moyes, is he shit? Real Madrid look better without Mourinho, is he? We were infinitely times worse without him. I love Kenny, but under him we looked tactically inept. We had a poor transfer strategy. When we went out onto the pitch we looked like we didn't have a plan. Under Rodgers that is totally different. We have a visible plan and while Rodgers has changed that over time, that's to his credit as it shows pragmatism. At the end of the season I think we'll have 70-80 points and if he does that, then no one will complain, even if it isn't good enough for top 4.

He uses big words?!? That's a sure sign he's overrated!! Sound logic. Our supporters aren't any more idiotic than United's, or Newcastle's or whoever. He does say something stupid at times, but who doesn't? Arsene, José and Moyes all do it too... Every manager does!

Oh he followed the infamous Kenny Dalgeish. A man who was - understandably - out of football for years and came back still thinking it was 1994. Yeah good job following Kenny Dalgleish. If you get kicked in the nuts and then smacked in the face, the smack will feel quite good by comparison.

You said yourself you were tactically inept under Queen Kenny, so it doesn't take much to look good when you come in afterwards and build a team that can at least string 2 passes together. Brenton just came in at a time when he'd have had to be a complete and utter nonse not to look good by comparison.

This won't happen, but If Moyes ends the season in 9th and gets the boot. The next manager could come in and finish 3rd and look like a hero. But it wouldn't be good. It would just be slightly less bad.

Come off it, Barn - no other manager speaks like this:

Rodgers said:
"We alternated the quandango at halftime, and this facilitated our thrusting octagonal centres, with the added bonus of freeing-up the starboard side of the port parameters. YAWN etc."

I thought you said we were no worse when he took over?

I terms of how good Liverpool are. You went on talking about their style of play to divert the point. Hence the 1994 comment.

We were worse. The second half of Kenny's final season was relegation form. Had he continued it didn't look like we would progress. A change was needed and I'm glad we have Rodgers. You'll forgive FSG if they don't sack him. d

Remind me as I seriously don't know.. Where did Liverpool finish last season?
