P15 W 2 D7 L 6.

He has a long way to go to put things right at Anfield. Last season he was finding his feet of course. But these games are the ones he needs to start doing better in. He has Liverpool playing very well against the rest.

He needs to improve here, but you can win the league without performing well in these games. Look at United in 08/09. You were awful against the big teams, but wiped the floor with the bottom 14 or 15. I'm not saying we're going to win the league, but we can definitely qualify for the CL whilst only picking up a few points against the top 5 or 6.

Also, the points figures don't tell the whole story as in a few of those games we were unfortunate to only pick up a point.

`They did draw a lot of games against shite teams under KKK and Hodgson. In fairness, they generally win all those games but they're brutal against the top sides. Really lucky against us both in when they met us and the manner of the win. Take that result out and they've been typically shite against the other top sides.

Excellently displayed for the Liverpool lads here who, after a routine 5-0 win over Norwich, come wading in to this site and then wonder why we're not all proclaiming them the bestest team ever.

Liverpool were adept at beating the league's also-rans during Dalglish's second term in charge, and then Rodgers just continued that trend. Their big players seem to be flat-track bullies* really.

*'Flat-track bullies' is a little harsh, but you rarely see Sturridge/Suarez/Gerrard cutting the top teams to shreds.

Like I said in my post above, I'm perfectly fine with that. Youse won the league in 08/09 doing this and if we can do a similar thing to get into the CL, I'll be chuffed.

Not really true.

Beat City home and away.
Thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at home, drew away.
Beat Arsenal at home, lost away. Bummed them in the CL.
Beat Spurs and Everton at home, drew away.

Oh, and got to the CL final.

Stop talking shite.

First off, to throw City in there is ridiculous. They were nowhere near as big a force as they are now. You also lost to us home and away.

Winning four out of ten games against the bigger teams isn't exactly a great record. Add to the fact that the goal for us this season isn't to title challenge, but to crack the top four and in doing so you would expect to need less points and my point really doesn't look so shite.

But back then their was a top 4. They were well ahead of the rest. Now you have the 6 teams who are top 4 contenders. Maybe even 7 or 8 if you count Everton and Southampton.

It is a bit of a shite point though. Blatantly still bitter that we won the league.

You could flip it and say we only lost 3 games out of ten against the bigger teams. 4 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats is pretty good going against the top sides in any season. As well as destroying Arsenal in the CL, beating Mourinho's Inter and Porto.

Fine with Rodgers not getting plaudits. Low key is how we need to keep consistency while the results are still favorable. Martinez can keep the limelight.

Oh, you haven't encountered Kraftwerker before.

Who do people thinking is the better manager out of Martinez and Rodgers?

Hard to judge. They're pretty equal, but I'm glad we have Rodgers. I prefer us having managers from the British Isles (though Rafa and Gerard got on okay :D ).

Yeah, fair enough.

Both chased the game today which I thought was really great to see.

He needs to sort out that midfield if he's planning on building a team that can be force in English football. Simply aiming to qualify for top 4 spots isn't an excuse for the state of that midfield especially at a time where there's an abundance of midfield talent doing the rounds. Whenever liverpool go up against a team that actually tries to take the game to them they go into a box and can't play out because of the caliber of footballers he has out there in central areas. No good having decent defenders and great forwards if your midfield is that average.

If gets some quality midfielders, some depth in some key areas they'll be competing for the title sooner rather than later.

In the 75th min, it showed the stats. Everton 8 shots, Liverpool 3 shots

Personally I think it's a squad of players taking advantage of the main team's shit results.

From what I've seen, Liverpool are nowhere near a league challenge and will fall away once United, Chelsea and City get it together.

And their messiah, brave "Stevie G" has lost it big time

Spot on. Liverpool are struggling with decent CM cover. Lucas and Gerrard have looked so laboured it makes life ridiculously easy to press us and Henderson's legs can't cover them both. Allen isn't helping much yet.

Hopefully the cannon fodder teams won't figure that out too soon just yet. The top 6-8 obviously have but that's why they have the better managers.

There's nothing on RAWK, so it must be true.

Came out ages ago. Ex staff I believe. Hopefully no one's granny or sister in law. ;)

We managed alright for quite a long time.
