That's not his fault, according to some sources.

Sounds like bollocks tbh. He's part of the transfer committee, and lots of top clubs decide transfers with lots of input from various club figures. It's not like he can just wash his hands of any responsibility.

He's a nob, you must be able to see that? Everything that comes out of his mouth is bollocks.

The funny thing is that we all know how badly it's going to end for him with you, even you do, yet because he's your current manager you have some sort of weird faith in him and forgive him for being a bit of a nob. Because he's your nob. Exactly the same situation with me and Van Gaal, he's my nob.
That comment just went further and further downhill. :nervous:

Rodgers: This team could have won CL
Brendan Rodgers believes that his current Liverpool side could have won the Champions League if they had not been knocked out in December.

Yeah alright

Love it when people try and twist what he says to make him seem foolish.

It's a headline from F365 Barney.

This is his exact quotes

"You just never know with the Champions League because sometimes it’s not the best teams that win it. I think if you’re in a cup competition that’s sometimes the case, especially in those big European competitions," said Rodgers.

"I felt if we were maybe the team we had (last year) or were further down the road with this team then we’d have had a chance with the Champions League, that's the reality.

It's very clear that he's trying to say that he could have won it, if they had went further down the road (FFS, yeah if you further down the road, you ultimately win it Brenton)

Why do you love it?

Well, that's completely true. Remember Liverpool, Chelsea and Porto.

You're making an inference. You've interpreted it in a certain way.

Why is he talking about the champions league like the pub bore about the giant fish that got away, they aren't even in it. He should stick to talking about Thursday nights on channel 5 and slippy captains.

He was obviously asked about it.

I question whether they can manage two-legged affairs in the Champions League. Those so called inferior sides who won it had the defensive nous (park the bus whatever you call it) to keep the tie in the balance and to get the breaks to gain advantage. Liverpool when they have tried that look so labored. Their best form comes with quick intensive play. Home leg would be their best chance to rack up a lead but generally to advance in the CL you have to play two legs strategically.

Well, to be fair, they had a chance of winning it....Just not a very good one....Pretty much like no chance.

In the meantime, look at him. Little reptile :D So small :D

"I like the way your wee feet move. You're quite the technician Beth."

What he's arguing is like me saying 'if we were in the Champions League and Fergie was still manager and had a better team to work with, we could win it'.

Undeniably true but so what?

So, according to Rodgers, Skertl's stamp on De Gea was an "accident" and he's "not that type of player"

This is the same cnut who wouldn't let the whole Costa thing go. Prick!

Skertl and Moreno bans now for the Arsenal game, along with Gerrard

He's not mediocre. Liverpool were decent, we just outclassed them and then Gerrard bottled it. Rodgers is, however, a wonderfully arrogant gimp.

This is all a bit after-the-event stuff. To suggest that LvG has fitted into the PL like a glove without some serious questions posed about his ability to adapt would be completely false.

Two things, Rodgers was stating a pretty obvious point which was true about managers coming from abroad. Secondly, Rodgers speaks very highly about LvG. The reaction on here to it all was a tad OTT.

Funny how he says about Van Gaal basically being shocked by the premiership. IIRC Van Gaal hasn't been below Liverpool at any point this season.

Mediocre coach, does he even know what sort of team he's trying to build?
Well according to this place for the past 18 months he's built a side with identity and a way of playing. You only have to go back to the City game to read it all over RedCafe.

He loses a game - admittedly a big one - and he's without direction and vision. Ok then...

While I fully expect a circle jerk on here tonight it's a tad premature.

Not that it matters but I think the first few games had United below Liverpool.

The arrogance of this lad. Plays our 352 for the first time against us earlier in the season and gets humbly classed. Comes back months later thinking he's mastered it better than Van gaal, and gets thumped again.
