I'm confused by this. I just got done watching the whole thing and the majority of the clips show him in a central position. Here are a couple of profiles written by people who have watched him a lot more and they seem to consider him a forward too, albeit a versatile one who is capable of playing in multiple positions.

I'd love him to be a right sided Martial. That would be amazing, it just doesn't seem a very accurate reflection of the player.
 
Remember seeing his Youtube compilation about a year ago - it was one of the most impressive I'd seen. Had pace, power, could dribble, decent jump on him...not sure how he's got on since (has he struggled with injury? That could be complete bollocks) but he must be worth a shot. Has the potential to be a world class player, a Martial-esque signing.

He sees himself as a striker. He played mainly rw this season because Janko was a beast for us. Embolo has the ability to hold the ball as a target man/lone striker but I think he's actually better in a position where he can take on defenders one on one. His technical skills are great, his control is next to none in the swiss league, he knows how to position himself, he has some speed, an eye for his team and he works hard in defence. I much prefer him as a winger or possibly as a 9.

Thanks for those! I'd presume though that with Ibra coming in that he'd be for the right wing. Is he better than Rashford though as striker?

Schneiderlin And matic together in midfield would be brutal to watch. No chance. Would be a playmaker next to one of them.

Potentially but it would be rock solid and if the AM was very creative with that front 3 it could work both in defence and attack if the fullbacks are pushing also.
 
Never seen him play but my imaginary Swiss mate says he could be world class, so I'm all for it.

Martial's best position is on the left. Embolo's best position is on the right. That's why their managers play them in these positions.
 
This is the signing I wanted United to make the most. I have followed this lad since finding out an hour ago that we are interested. I know everything.
 
There is still only that one Swiss report (20 minuten) of any substance so not going to get too excited yet.
He has one of the best scoutnation videos I've seen though and I have always hoped we could sign him since I saw that about a year ago. So strong and powerful for a young man,composed too.
 
I'm all for signing this kid. Looks very talented, but he looks very raw as well. Reminds me of a Welbeck type player. Great athlete, but needs a lot of work on his touch and finishing.

I know sweet F.A. about this fella. If we are in for him I hope he's quality. Seen some rumours that Liverpool are in for him. It might be that the agent is using United's name to provoke Liverpool action, like Benteke's did.

He seems much better than Welbeck from the times I have seen him.
 
His move to Leipzig seems already done. And he also made it clear that he doesn't want to join a big club and the PL yet. Something like PL is his dream but isn't ready yet and want to reach that target when he us 24,25. So doesn't look likely imo. I also think a move to Leipzig is the besr for him, Swisd league is poor and he should prove himself there before joining one of the big teams in the world. We need someone more reliable on the right wing, talent is fine and everything but we have already Martial and Rashford, if we sign another young player it should be one of those who have shown it already in a bigger league imo.
 
Feels like a Wenger type of signing, but I wouldn't say no to a top talent for about £15-20m.

How many times is that and against what competition?

He seems a bit stiff and unbalanced in his shooting motion to me. Same as Welbeck. Looks like something he needs to work on. Welbeck hasn't been able to improve on it. But hopefully Embolo can if he signs with us. 19 years old, so far from a finished product. Certainly looks very talented.

Why not sign him and loan him to a German team, or just somewhere else? Zlatan will play main role next year but afterwards it's open and he could be a starter. Besides it's different moving to United now where he'll definitely get opportunities than say Arsenal or City who are much better stocked in attack.

He's nothing like Martial really, not even close. Fwiw, Martial is much better atm. Embolo is a bit of a risky signing to be honest. He's very raw, inconsistent, but that will improve with age hopefully.

If that's a possibility it would be great of course. Depends on the player though and if he wants to be loaned out. We would need another right winger then too.
