Walter White >>>>>>>>> Shackespear
That's comparing artists. Not comparing art.
I'd say a far better way would be to compare Breaking Bad with a particular performance of a Shakespeare play.Well then we're taking Cranston and the whole production out of the equation, and can just compare screenplays. And Shakespeare still wins hands down.

I don't think length is the issue. I'm quite happy to say that I think the song Blackbird is more interesting artistically than a Justin Bieber album.Which 62 hour one do you recommend?
Can't believe we're comparing a TV show to the works of a writer that died 400 odd years ago. And people thought the Scholes-Gerrard comparison was pointless...
This is a much more complex webbed plot than any of the Shakespeare plays I remember reading.
This is unfairly out of whack considering BB has had 5 years to tell it's story. Would you say the first 3 episodes of season 1 was better than Romeo & Juliet?
That's also out of whack considering BB knew it had more than 3 episodes to tell it's story.
I should probably have gone with a drama comparison. Eastenders has been mentioned. That has an awful lot of episodes but you won't find many who say that there aren't things much shorter that offer more artistically.Music's a bit different. You appreciate the complexity and achievement of music less than you just aesthetically enjoy it.
Irwin highlights the advantages that a longer work has. There are obviously many advantages to a shorter work. This is unfairly out of whack considering BB has had 5 years to tell it's story. Would you say the first 3 episodes of season 1 was better than Romeo & Juliet?
I once saw an interpretative dance that was better than Breaking Bad.
I can't remember what I'm arguing now.
On the internet, it only matters that you argue.
"It matters only that you argue" is how Shakespeare would've said it.
Don't think so.Anyone ever tried meth, by the way? Any good?
Are you a cop?
Anyone ever tried meth, by the way? Any good?
I know a guy who tried it in Bali. He was with some surfers and he thought they were smoking something like Salvia, he found out the next day that it was meth. He said he took a few hits from a pipe and realised after the first one it wasn't anything like Salvia but at that point didn't care. Spent the night wired, felt horrendous the next day with paranoia and cold sweats. Found himself "considering trying it again" despite not really enjoying it and flew back to New Zealand the following day in fear that he was going to become an addict. I laughed my head off at that but in hindsight he might well have saved himself with that over the top precaution.
Is this a good show? Been meaning to watch it. Sadly, I'm irritated because everyone loves to make the "OMG Hardy darr darr, you study chemistry, you can be Heisenberg"
It took me a while to realise that they were not referring to the Physicist.
Theatre and TV (or films) are completely comparable. However BB is not better than Shakespeare.
If Shakespeare wrote a play that was 62 hours long, then perhaps we could compare the merits of his storytelling with Gilligans.
He didn't though. He did write shit loads though, and on his own, without a team of writers.
I can't believe I'm actually having to say this.
Makes me laugh that Bryan Cranston probably knows feck all about chemistry. So convincing.
